    What Your Non-Health Reason?

I'd like to be able to go to the hair salon and not worry about how the awful lighting and oversized mirror make me look while trying to avoid my reflection I'd like to be able to get up in the morning and not have to strategically try on numerous outfits until i find one that " doesn't make me look too big" I want to be in pictures again

    Body By Vi?

Hi I have used the shakes every once in a while but honestly I prefer the EAS mioplex chocolate shakes since they have 20g of protein. The visalis shakes have been good for experimenting with various protein recipes I have found such as apple pie and pumpkin pie shakes

8 Days Post Op - Oh My Gas

April, My guess is that the pain you are feeling is some after effects of the gas used during surgery. I have experienced similar discomfort. I also had shortness of breath due to discomfort taking deep breaths due to the gas pain. Much of that has started to subside with lots of walking and some gas x chewables. I am by no means an expert since I am new to this but if the pain worsens i would call the dr or go to the er. Better safe than sorry.

8 Days Post Op - Oh My Gas

I too am 8 days out and the burping and gas have been in full force since day two, lessening now, however i do have that pain in my neck/ shoulder blade. Glad to know it takes a while to go away, i thought something was wrong. Any suggestions on how to shave your legs in the shower? Having some difficulty maneuvering around the port incision while bending over. Just throwing it out there

    A Special Thank You!

I definitely will/would return the favor. As two youtz we got a good thing going
  9. So I was just banded on Monday sept 17. The week prior to surgery was awful. I was in a fog of doubt and scared that I in fact would be one of the worst case scenarios. I was close to just saying forget it until I received a message in my LBT inbox from a " life saver". This person happened to see that my surgery was soon and that we had the same surgeon in common among other things. Her message and late night responses to my frantic texts the night before surgery got me to my "pre-op" status. She has been there to answer any question or problem that comes up, such as having too much watermelon whey Protein. I just wanted to say thank you to horsegirl she has been a life saver!
  10. Wow not sure how you all are going back to work so soon after surgery. I had my surgery yesterday and to even think about going back to work in two weeks is scary never mond within the same week. Maybe having a small hernia stitched is causing more pain but my stomach just feels so loose and vulnerable, not to mention the gas pains. Im sure my dr will keep me out at least three weeks since i work with young children who have ASD

    Final Countdown

Thank you so much! Its appreciated more than you know!
  12. Thanks for the add :)

  13. Well here I am. Counting down the hours untill surgery and I have to say this has been one of the longest days of my life. Excited to begin this long awaited journey one minute and then totally freaking out the next, thinking "what am I doing?". Rethinking my reasons for being here and focusing on my goal is what gives me moments of clarity. I wouldn't be here if I didn't need the help. Having this site available has been a life saver. While some of the posts people write on here can scare the crap out of you (ie: not losing weight, being miserable, stuck episodes) I feel that I have also gained priceless knowledge of what not to do which makes me feel confident that I will be successful. So thank you to those that post encouraging and inspiring posts that keep me going on this journey.

    Sept 17

Thank you all so much! The past few hours have not been easy for me....emotional roller coaster for sure. I go back and forth from being excited about the prospect of a "new-old" me and "what the heck am I doing?". I am fully determined to get the band (hoping the hours before surgery will be the worst of what I encounter) Trying to stay positive! I'll be sure to post if I am able! Thank you all again for without this site I would not have come this far!

    Arkansas Banding

I'll be staying overnight , which I dread, but I think I think it will be for the best since they wont me leave until i can succesfully swallow. Rather have it taken care of there then to get home and have issues I guess.
