Hello All,
I would like reviews of Dr. Clayton Frenzel in Arlington-Dallas, Texas. I'm having band issues and need a revision doctor but want to make sure I pick the best one. I'm self pay which is a horrible thing since I'm not sure I can even do anything about the band if it is damaged.
I've searched and can't find much about Dr. Frenzel. I have had a consult with him and he and his staff is very nice. He spent a lot of time answering all my questions but I can't find many that have used him...which makes me nervous. He does his surgery out of Forest Park Medical Center which I understand is an excellent facility.

I'm on my way to the hospital. This morning while getting ready I thought- I can't wait to be able to tie my shoes straight on instead of on the side.

Today is my day! In less than 8 hours I'll be sleeved.

I'm officially sleeved!! I went down at 8 this morning so I am about 12 hours out! I have a lot of nausea but that's because I do not handle anesthesia or pain medicine very well. My stomach is definitely sore, but I had my lapband taken and and reversed to a sleeve so my doctor told me I would be since he would be messing with scar tissue. The pain is still manageable though, the worst part is the nauseas but I just have to wait for the to wear off!! I am extremely happy that I made this decision to have surgery and I'll gladly take a little pain for a shot at a new healthier life!

Ok y'all!! Its official, today is the day. I cant believe im doing this, but i know its necessary. So many efforts to lose weight in the past, and no maintenance. Im looking forward to a new healthier me, minus the discomfort. Please say a prayer for all of us sleevers today, as im sure we will be doing the same for your entire journey.
I will keep u all posted on whats gng on throughout the eve, if i'm up to it. Surgery is scheduled for 2pm.

Just got a call from the surgeons office..moving my surgery to THIS FRIDAY!! Geez! I'm feeakimg out trying to get everything in order to shave a week off of my regular date and schedule . I drive 3 hours one way to have my preOp at the hospital..then drive 3 hours home..work one day...go back to the surgeons office on Thursday for a day long class on having the sleeve and all that goes with it. No class no surgery...then Friday at 7:15 surgery... Shaking in my boots right now....but sorta happy its fast and furious instead of waiting.
New surgery date of Feb. 22!

I live in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. I have 3 kids and my youngest is due to graduation this spring. My oldest daughter is the mother of 3 adorable grandchildren. I want to be able to play and run around with them, not just sit around on the couch because I don't have the energy. I want to be around many more years so I am praying that this is the way to accomplish that. I am really glad to have others to talk to about it who are experiencing the same thing.

this is soooo juvenile, but it works for me. If we are sitting in a restaurant and I am finished and there isn't anything I'm taking, I'll pour salt on it, food, bread, whatever. Not fit for consumtion!!! LoL Just an idea!

what a wild ride this has been. this time last year, i was 5'6" and 373 pounds. i wore a 56" waist jeans and 5-6X shirt. i was sleeved on june 5, 2012 and now, 7.5 months later, sadly, i am sitll only 5'6", but now, i weighed in this morning at 196! i wear a 32" waist jeans and a 1X shirt. and yes that is a grand total of 177 pounds gone!
feeling kinda like a rockstar right now. only 10-20 pounds from goal.
this is most definately one of the coolest moments ever.

much love to those of you that i have learned from, such as OTR and PDX and butterthebean, and many many others. you are all my heroes. keep it up all. there really is no limit on what can be done when you work the tools.

I'm having surgery 2/28

Yes, I was there exactly one year ago, and I drink at least 2 25 gram Protein drinks a day still. That being said, I can also eat a vast amount of things as well. It's hard to explain, but you will spend the coming months learning how to eat in a much different way. I don't EVER dump or vomit, but I will know in an instant if I have taken one bite too much and stop mid chew sometimes. If I grill hamburgers, I will fix it with cheese and mayo, one side of bun, cut into fourths and nibble it, literally. Not good with veggies or drinking cold stuff. Leaves me with a knotted type feeling, or overly full real quick. At Xmas I nibbled goodies as everyone else gobbled them up, difference is - I had NO guilt and I lost while they gained! Hello--I am new here and saw your post and my surgery is scheduled for February 28th, too. Very excited, nervous, anxious, and almost oblivious to other things as my mind is thinking of this all the time. I think that Feb 28 though is a great day for surgery. Good luck with yours and we will have to touch base again.

I am one day before on February 27th. However, my birthday is February 28th so best wishes to you both and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME : )

My name is Shelly, 42 yrs old, married,1 son, an RN and I live in Illinois I feel the same way. One day I'm beyond excited then the next I'm frantic and I think I should postpone lol It doesn't help me when I read some of the horror stories that happen I know this is the right choice for me though. My son (19 yrs) was sleeved in December and is down 94 pounds (30 before surgery and 64 in last 2 months) I know this works:) Good luck to all of us and we definitely need to stay in touch!!

What state are you two in? One moment I want to have it over TOMORROW and the next I want to back put....but...I KNOW this is the best for me.

Hi everyone,i had my surgery on 2-17-12.I started at 381lbs and I'm down to 200lbs!181lbs gone in just 10 months.I've done everything my Dr. told me to do and it's been really really easy.My shirts was a 4x and my pants was 46's, now my shirts are large and my pants are 34's!I want to hug my doctors neck every time i see him but not sure how he would react.Lol!

My name is josephine and I'm new to this I've been thinking about the surgery for quite some time now bit I was scared of the after math (not looking weight) but just the cautions of after but I've made my appointment and I've made my decision I'm super excited I was just wondering how long it took everyone before they actually had the surgery?

I've heard that if someone is self pay they buy an extra insurance policy. Anyone do this in Texas and did it pay also which insurances cover the complications from WLS?
