  1. I don't have to do a two week liquid diet. I looked at it like I should eat what I can know until I can't anymore. But then I look at it the other way as I should start early so im not changing cold turkey but... I decided on to eat what I want haha. It's up to you!
  2. That helps a lot Thank you. I wanted a estimate and seems like people are around the same. I have no health conditions so if I can exercise eat right get my protein in and drink my water I'll be good.
  3. I weigh 253 pounds and I'm 5'7. I read on here that some people lose 50 pounds in 1 to 2 months. I know it varies who the person is I wonder if that will be me. Is anybody similar to my height and weight the has lost a lot of weight in a short time? i know it may take time but just curious and anxious
  4. No I have no health issues. Might sound weird but I don't want to lose too much weight and look ill like some people end up looking. And exactly I want the surgery that seems to workout best long term and gives me the most help. Wednesday is the big day!!
  5. Yea I don't want to go back time and time again for fills. I am excited. I researched and heard I would lose more weight. That made me decision even more. But I am 250. Am I not heavy enough? My Dr said it was ok. It's already set in stone. August 29th
  6. So a couple days ago I called my Dr and switched to gastric bypass surgery instead of lap band. I was just feeling doubtful of the lap band and I didn't want to go into this feeling that way. Does anybody have any encouraging words about gastric bypass ?? I have done my research about all surgeries and I feel like this surgery can help me the most.
  7. I want to do this. I need this. My surgery is August 29th. Ten days away!! I am so excited yet of course a little nervous about the post op. Not really during surgery. I want to prove to myself I can do this and see the looks I get from people and them saying wow you look great! Haha. I will have to have my eyes on the prize. And picture myself 90lbs less
  8. Thank you. And those are the same foods I eat now. Like I seriously will eat till my stomach kills. What if I eat past what the lapband is telling me?
  9. Feeling like idk if I can change the way I eat. My parents don't think I can do it. Well they are nervous that I'll do this surgery for nothing, bc I won't change my eating habits. Ugh not that my family doesn't believe in me or whatever they are worried for me. Makes me think too that I'll have a hard time. I like food and love pop. I have to stop drinking pop forever. And find foods that are healthier or all around better choices. I'll have to find a pop alternate. Is sports drinks okay? Gatorade or powerade? I need something more then water! Help
  10. Cool I am excited for you. I have two weeks away and I can't imagine how anxious I'll be the day of!!
  11. I seen some people are getting there fills just right on the first try or at least the second try. I hope that will be my luck. I need to start dieting now and drinking a lot of water now. Thanks
  12. Awesome! How is your dieting going? Well I guess I should call it your life changing. I am nervous I will not eat healthy enough! I think I need to write down meals I am going to make and what I eat to keep track. Are you exercising?
  13. Two weeks until my surgery! It's getting closer I am so excited. When they gave me all the information on the lap band and nutrition information I became nervous. I am so afraid I will not be able to change me eating habits!! My worst fear is I'll do this surgery and it won't work for me! I know it isn't good to think that way bc if you think you'll fail then you just might. I need a boost of confidence in myself. I have dieted before but this will be more important and a life style change. I want to prove to myself and everyone I know I can be successful losing weight!! My weight will never hold me back from being truly happy. Does anyone feel like I do? I just feel like I won't find anything to eat thats healthy enough. Obviously why I am fat is bc I'd never stick with a diet bc I would cheat or get bored or run out of foods to eat. I guess with lap band I can still have a half turkey sandwich whole wheat bread with low fat cheese no mayo. Also some fruit and low fat crackers. If I can even eat all that. That's another thing. Fills. I want to be restricted so I won't over eat! I don't wanna have to come back several times! I want it tight so it'll work from the get go!! I guess I need to relax and set my mind now before surgery day and so my body isn't shocked.
  14. I have also heard of these drops and it's true the diet says you have to only eat 500 calories. That's crazy. Of course anyone would lose weight if they only ate that much to me the drops aren't doing that much. It's only so long you can eat that little. And you'd go back to eating more and possibly gain some weight back. Just my opinion.
  15. Thank you everyone! It all helps! I know I can't drink before, between and after meals. Also I knew carbonated drinks were probably a no no but thought I'd ask about it. And yeah I have an appt two weeks before my surgery to discuss nutrition and the whole process. I don't have to do the two week pre op diet but i suppose I should cut out a lot now so I'm not stopping cold turkey. I'll try the diet snapples. I don't like tea so I'll try the crystal lite packets and other sugar free drinks.
  16. As I get closer to my surgery date, Aug 29th I can't help but feel happy and nervous. My family says to me that I am going to have a hard time changing my bad eating choices. And I'm afraid I will. I know it'll be hard bc it has my whole life but I think this surgery will push me the extra way I need to to really change! Anyone else have this issue? Will the Dr give me a guide on what on what to eat and drink? My problem is I love pop. Love it. What should I drink to satisfy myself without drinking pop? Is carbonated drinks bad? I guess I'm afraid I won't find foods to make me full and to satisfy me. I hope the Dr gives me a guide like what to buy. What does everyone else follow as far as diets go? That's always been my problem! I need the correct nutrition so I don't go back to bad eating!

  18. I haven't had my surgery yet and just got approved also. My scheduled surgery date was September 25th but they called yesterday asking if August 29th would be okay? And I absolutely said yes! I have the same questions you have. Am I choosing the best surgery? What it comes down to is what is the best one for ME. Research says it may not lose the most weight as the other surgeries but for me it'll be what I want. As in helping me control how much I can eat. Good luck with your surgery!! I'm so anxious and I know it'll be a life style change. And I'll basically be on a diet for along time but I'll have the lap band helping me out!!
  19. Thanks! Yeah I like Popsicles that'll be a good idea with freezing them, thanks!
  20. My date is September 25th. Seems sort of far, but I'm sure time will fly. Good luck.
  21. Although my appt is September 25th I am anxious and nervous. More excited of course. I am ready to change my life and become healthy and happy. I wonder how many fills it took for everyone to get there band right for them. I am concerned I'll have to keep going back and wont lose the amount of weight. Also there are worries that I'll need to change my ways of eating. I'll need to Basically be on a diet of protein and low sugar foods. I know drink mostly water. I heard its ok to drink sport drinks like powerade or Gatorade okay? Or juice like Snapple or just strictly water? Because I have a real hard time drinking just water! I may get a food list I can use but what does everyone eat that is helpful?? Since I'm posting this in pre-op surgery people haven't had surgery yet maybe some people know what's best to eat?
  22. Yes and No. Some people think I am wanting the easy way out and this will be a quick fix But it really won't be. I'll still have to work hard at what I eat and exercise. This surgery is going to help us become healthy and happy. Nothing better then that. Don't care what others may think. Your making a good choice to better yourself. That's the way I look at it.
  23. I guess what I'm asking what is it I have to do for great weight loss??
  24. Okay that's helpful. 117Lbs in 6 months that's crazy. That's awesome. What have you been doing? I know I'll have to put in the work and I want to do that. I know it won't be a quick fix.
  25. That's awesome!! I just got the call also that I was approved and have to wait a week for them to make my appointment. I am really hoping I will be able to get in during August! Good luck to you!
