  1. I am 5 weeks out and a slooow loser. I've lost almost 20 lbs. On top of that, i've gained 3 lbs after going in from being dehydrated and now being properly hydrated. I was sad, but this morning I took a double take in the morning when I saw signs that my hourglass figure is coming back. I've decided I am not going to weight myself until this pair of xxl pants from Old Navy fit me. They go up, but don't close like by 3 inches. Is a small victory, and wanted to share it. Ready to take on the weekend!!!
  2. You look so healthy!!! Congrats!!!
  3. I think that lying about it will eventually make you uncomfortable. People are becoming more familiar with gastric surgeries and when they see a rapid weight loss, they can figure it out. I also work at a high school and have been pretty open about it. I find that coworkers, parents, and students are very supportive.
  4. Well I am almost 5 weeks out and everything seemed quite smooth until I went back to work on Monday. Compulsive eating has showed up again, and it feels like this aggressive monster wanting to eat anything in sight. I realized this yesterday night, when I WANTED desperately to stuff my face with something that felt good. I realized that there had been a couple of days that I felt like that, but ignored the feeling. THEN I realized that it started when I went back to work Monday. Although I love my job, it can be a high stress job (I am a school principal). I haven't given into "The Monster", but I realize now its going to be a battle. I am going to find other ways if "rewarding" myself during the work day, or after work. What kind of strategies do you use to tame the "beast"? Thank you all in advance for your feed back.
  5. I am at a training that I didn't expect will go until after dinner. I am totally unprepared and there are only fast food places around. Best protein option?!!!
  6. I am 4 weeks out, and just ate 2 1/2 cups of watermelon!!! I feel great, but wondering if its a slider food...105 calories!!! I am feeling so guilty...
  7. Just out of curiosity, what reason did your doctor gave you regarding this rule? I've heard different things.
  8. Congratulations!! You look great. I love how you documented your weight at every month. What do you mean you are a few lbs of a normal BMI??? If you are in the 120's, I'd think you already there, no??
  9. I am looking forward to NOT getting "compliments" from strangers: "You look so beautiful! Probably almost due, huh?". It has happened in front of a date, group of people...ugh!!!
  10. My doctor cleared me to eat anything after two weeks. My sleeve is pretty good and so far I haven't gotten sick. Despite the clearance, I didn't eat just anything. I was listening to my body and only ate what felt good in my tummy. Lentils, yogurt, eggs feel pretty good (I am 4 weeks out). I have made myself a healthy version of a pizza, but after the first couple of bites I'm not sick, but also I don't feel as good as with other foods. I love popcorn, and as I took my daughter to see the Whimpy Kid movie, I thought I would try one. I ended up not doing so. It was just not appetizing. I listened yo my body, not force anything you know? Maybe some day.
  11. Maybe this is a stupid question, but did they repair the leak? They go in again? Nevertheless, hope you are able to go home soon.
  12. I am victoriagu at MFP. My foof journal is oprn for you to see. I am one month out, and I try to take in 600 cals a day. The hardest is to get in all the liquids...yuck!!!!
  13. I am 4 weeks today too. Lost 25 lbs. Went back to work today too.
  14. I am 4 weeks out and would love to have some friends in myfitnesspal. You can add me: Victoriagu Hopefully we can make this journey together!!!
  15. Yes, I am 4 weeks out, and after the first week, I stalled for 2 weeks!! I was so confused as why, since my lifestyle had totally changed. The scale finally moved again this week, and I've lost 4 lbs. I haven't worked out, since I was feeling pretty run down. I was only active doing house chores. I am sure when I start a walking program that scale will move faster. You are not alone!!!!
  16. It seems like one isn't enough. By midnight, if I am still awake, my tummy is growling and it feels like I am starving, so hungry. I just live through it, take sips of water, and ignore it. However, its really uncomfortable. Maybe taking another Prilosec would help? Can I take two a day? I am 4 weeks out. I asked my dr for a prescription for prevacid to see if that would help. But when I went to the pharmacy, they said he had called in a generic form of Prilosec. Sigh.
  17. I'll be one month out Monday. My surgery was July 9th. Started at 260, only have lost 20 lbs, I was at a stall for two weeks, which I think is incredible this early. I keep telling myself that if I go about my business, before I know it all the weight will be gone. I return to work Monday.
  18. Yes, particiated threads aren't showing.
  19. I can relate. I have in the past given up on a 'regular' meal, toss it, and then made myself a protein shake. However, it does get better. Hang in there.
