HOLY GOODNESS.. You look like a completely different person! I'm so amazed! Question.. How did you make your skin tight? You looked like you did very well tightening up.

Wow! You look wonderful. What a dramatic change. You look so healthy and happy!
Do you have a lot of loose skin?
Did you lose a lot of hair?
Any recommendations for a pre-opper?

I am going to try this, hopefully it works! I had my sleeve surgery November 29th, 2010. The first pictures are at my highest when I got married (I love my husband, he has loved me no matter what size!), around 260ish lbs. The second are the day of my surgery, 220ish lbs. The last pictures are at my current weight, 135-137lbs (I LOVE my hormones, I LOVE my hormones). There are 2 standing in my old jeans and I fit in 1 leg (1 is me AND my daughter in my jeans). There is also a picture of my biggest jeans (size 22), and my new jeans (size 4..I wear a size 4-6). I never dreamed I would ever be this size or weigh in the 130's. I honestly never thought I would even reach goal because I had tried and failed so many times in my life. I hope these pictures are inspiration that, if you let it, the sleeve is an amazing tool! And I hope it inspires the slower losers too! It took me 18 months to reach my goal weight of 140lbs, and I have even lost a few more pounds in the last couple of months. So don't get discouraged if you don't lose all your weight in the first 6 months. If you make the changes you need to make to have a healthy life, it will happen!

That was one reason I went for this surgery. My daughter is 11yrs and I could never get pregnant after her. My period was very irregular. I used to go three months without one and have it stay two weeks. Than it will show a month later last four days and that's it for another three months or so. Since surgery I am regular. Can't really get pregnant yet since we are to wait at least 12-18 months. But I have a great feeling that I will get pregnant as soon I get the green light from my doctor. CAN'T WAIT!!

I had my band removed and was sleeved on July 9. I don't miss that band at all and I love my sleeve. Congrats!

For me, at the time, the band just seemed the most logical choice. There was something about having my insides rerouted that terrified me. And still does. Why it is that the idea of having a huge percentage of my stomach removed doesn't unnerve me the same is beyond me. But for whatever reason, the sleeve just seems the better choice. I was fortunate that my insurance covered the band but I understand what you mean about feeling that it was money wasted. It was a procedure that I certainly would have preferred avoiding. I am struggling with the fear that the sleeve will also end up being something that I wish I hadn't done...but after Monday, there will be no turning back.

Congratulations on getting the band removed!! And I am glad the procedure went smoothly for you. I am getting my band removed on Monday and having my Gastric Sleeve done on Oct.1st. I wish I could have it done all in one surgery, however, my surgeon (Dr. Aaron Hoffman) feels its best to wait at least 8 weeks to give my stomach time to heal. I wish you the best on your recovery.

My band came out this morning. It was fairly easy as much as surgery can be easy. Surgery at 9:30 am, on my way home at 2 pm. No pain meds needed at all, even immediately post-op. Moving a bit slow, especially sitting down/getting up, but this has been WAY easier than getting banded.
There was a fair amount of scar tissue that my surgeon removed. The band had also pulled my fundus (left portion of the stomach) up through my diaphragm, causing some misshaping that needs time to heal.
My surgeon still wants to wait four or so months to revise to the sleeve. I know it's for the best, and I'm fine with waiting, although I of course would like to get started sooner. But waiting is the best way to reduce complications, and I just need to remember that this is for the REST of my life, which means four months are just a blip on the radar. I could possibly get sleeved around my three year bandiversary, which would be late November.
On bland mushies today and back to a normal diet tomorrow.
I still can't believe I am band-less!

Reopman sorry you are having a rough start
at this early stage, you will be drinking Clear liquids, broth, popsicles and as much H20 as you can tolerate.
Sounds like you are drinking - don't expect to drink in 5 days what you will drink in 50 days. doesn't work that way
Unless your dr/./NUT told you otherwise, don't think you are supposed to be having creamed soup this early after WLS - too heavy
you are only 5 days post op - some people can't handle too much at the beginning - do the best you can to have as much liquids as possible. you don't want to get dehydrated
try not to worry too much - things usually have a way of working out
i never had those Protein shakes for 10 days or so, my NUT just said to stay hydrated, worry about the Proteins later
one day at a time
feel better
good luck

Some things you just can't have. It is a life changing surgery, and if that means giving up carbonation to be sure that my sleeve is healthy, then I'm on board. It is a little bit of a bummer, but I'd much rather be thin.

Browned 1/2 lb. ground beef, onions, then mixed mustard into that and about a tablespoon of caraway seed, the stirrred in shredded cheese.. Did the double won ton thing like the lasagna! they taste just like patty melts! Who needs bread since their sleeve? NOT ME! LOL!

I could use some visuals. Not sure how I did, but my friend loved them. I think the meat needed more seasoning and the wonton was perfect on top, but a little soggy in the pan part. Any tips?

Why would you consider it? Besides the obvious carbonation, there are like a million sugars in soda! Use this time to cut the soda addiction ( if that is the issue). I love icy cold Pepsi, but I love my sleeve more.
