  1. I love crab!!! Glad to know you found something you love to get you through
  2. Wylers lemonade is pretty good. It's only 5 calories per serving and sugar free. They have a regular and a pink lemonade. I only got to taste it because my 13 year old son drank the whole 2 liters I made in one night which alone says alot because my kids won't drink anything that taste like its diet.
  3. I myself was thinking how much easier it would be to get protein and liquid in If I can use a straw. But I think it's too limit the intake amount because we are suppose to "sip". I for one want to drink out of a straw and have a nice amount of fluid instead of a cheap sip that leaves me wanting more
  4. I downloaded the beep me add. It has a snooze option which u can use to remind you about the same task and whatever interval you wish. It also has a nag option too. I haven't played around with it much but looks like it could be quite useful
  5. There's an app called beep me. According to the description you can set it up for multiple alerts. They have a free one and one for 1.99
  6. I've been looking for the same thing. All I've done is set reminders
  7. Got sleeved Monday 7/2 went in at 211.50. When I got home on 7/4 I weigh 208 lbs. Today went to Kmart with hubby bought a scale, came home opened that bad boy up and it said 200lbs even!! 8lbs in 3 days. Monday I'm going to the gym to hit the treadmill. I was feeling a lil down earlier but my mood has definitely lifted!! Good luck everybody!!
  8. I just has this happen this morning and I was sleeved on Monday. I freaked out because of the dishes in my sink! Specifically because I asked that there be none.
  9. I felt pain the most on the day of surgery and 2 days later when I got home. Most of it is from gas which is why they insist on the walking.. Once I passed the gas. I Found that the pain is tolerable. I have not had any pain meds since I left the hospital. Keep in mind that everyone is different and may feel differently. This is just my experience
  10. I was sleeved on Monday!!
  11. I have Empire BCBS through work and my surgical coordinator said that they are one of the best when it comes to approval. She sent the request on a wednesday and on Friday she called me that all had been approved and my surgery was scheduled for two weeks later. I was told that the faster they get all the required info such as the primary drs recommendation, the ugi results, psych evaluation the faster you get approval. I started my journey in May 2,2012 and was sleeved July 2, 2012.
  12. My cousin had a gastric bypass done about 8 years ago she was over 500 lbs possibly reaching 600. Because of issues she had because of her obesity she qualified for SS benefits. Today she weighs possibly 225-250lbs not to sure because she was around 160 at some point , walks alot goes to frequent appointments for herself and her children and is quite capable of working in my opinion but continues to receive her check every month, public assistance and whatever other benefits she qualifies for. So I think it's just a matter of whether the person who receives these benefits wants to enter the work place.
  13. Thank you I'm actually going with my brother to the supermarket to pick up some stuff on my own. Figured I can get the walking in while I'm at it. Fage was one of the yogurts on the list yesterday but hubby is a grab n go type of guy. Don't think he bothered to read labels lol I asked for vegetable juice and got V8 mixed with fruit juice to bad I can't take it back
  14. I was only told to keep the yogurt under 10 grams of sugar. I told my husband to buy plain ones but I guess he didn't hear that part. I don't think that it'll be a problem if I mix 2 oz of plain into it and add some protein. For breakfast this morning I had some almond milk with a scoop of protein... It Actually Wasnt bad... The snapple Im drinkin has only 2 grams of sugar and taste Pretty good. Im glad I started doing taste test when the nutritionist gave me the list because I know what I can tolerate and what to stay away from
  15. So being that last night (7/4/12) was my first day Home since I got sleeved on 7/2 I sent my husband to the supermarket with a list of things to get. He got me the unsweetened almond milk, sugar free Popsicles, fat free milk, soup(so that I can drink the broth) and Greek yogurt. However the yogurt although I told him to get it with the least sugar possible (under 10 grams) has alot of sugar(21 grams). Each one is 6 oz and when I divide into 3 it comes out to be 7 grams per serving. My question is if I mix it with plain yogurt will the grams of sugar be less? I don't want to break a rule and will like to stay with the guideline I was given. I think it will be fine and can't wait to start on the yogurt after day 5. Has anyone tweaked their food a lil bit? I added lemon juice to my chicken broth in the hospital to give it more flavor. I drink G2 gatorade, propel water, diet snapple and reg water to keep me hydrated. Also any thing that can be added to the grocery list to get me through these first few days will be deeply appreciated.
  16. Sorry youre in pain but Maybe you over exerted yourself. The papers I got from my Dr. Said light housework could be resumed after 3-4 weeks. Sounds like you did alot more than light housework. Try some pain killers maybe you did pull muscle oratbe you're just sore. Hope you get better though
