Also looking forward to wearing shorts that dont have the pant legs ride up between my thighs., and wearing even mid rise jeans without having half my butt cheeks showing

I so agree with everyone-especially the sex. lol
Feels better to know I'm not the only one that avoids social situations. Tired of fighting with hubby because I want to wear a large baggy t-shirt and stretch jeans when I go out. If I dress up i feel like a cow with lipstick. Love to feel normal again. Love to not come home and cry because after spending the afternoon shopping for clothes all I am is tired and more aware of how much weight i've put on.
Just got back from the local fair and saw several ladies wearing sundresses. I've never been a dress person but I am EXCITED about possibly wearing one and feeling lite and carefree. Don't know how the flabby "funbags" will survive this, so not sure i'll be able to do that, but the thought is nice.

I agree with the seats. I pay more for a movie theater with lifting arms. Went to an amusement park 50 lbs ago and the skinnly little wench locked down so hard on my legs i wanted to scream.....then the stupid ride got stuck. sat like that for 15 minutes and it seemed like hours. Now, if I get on the ride at all, i keep my legs up just so it wont happen again and I lok it down myself. However, I don't get on many rides now...terrified they'll tell me I cant fit. Not to mention the pain of walking around.

Just curious what other's goals are after loosing weight? Your living bucket list...
Personally, I'm hoping to enjoy amusement parks again with my family, not feeling alone in a crowded room and (hopefully) going skydiving again.

Aww, thanks! You're sweet I don't know what I'd be after I lose all the weight. I used to be a gym rat ("used to" being one of the major reasons I gained so much weight). But I'm so burnt out on bodybuilding.

I have been snowboarding since I was 7 years old and when I was 22 (i am 24) I decided to give it up because I felt too fat to snowboard! I can't wait to strap into my bindings with confidence!!!!!
    I also want.....
to wear overalls. Not because they are cute, (because they're not!) But because I CAN!, To Speed walk up hills and run up stairs without being winded, To look down a trail from the top and say "piece of cake!", To dance in heels, to Wear single digit sizes, to Get a full body massage, to Have a neck and one chin, To steal my sister's clothes, to Enjoy shopping, to smile at the mirror!

Its funny because this morning I left the house without telling my hubby I was leaving. He was asleep and I was running late for my nail appointment and to top it off I forgot my cell phone at home charging. Well an hour and a half later while I was heading home, I saw him at a light, and I asked where are you going and he said..."To look for my wife"...ROTFL...that was so funny to me because I really wasn't gone that long and I figured he would still be sleep by the time I return...guess I was wrong!

Once your incisions are healed. Just take it easy. Just floating around is totally cool. But if you want to swim or do anything that would use your abs That would be a no no. Have fun! swimming is my favorite!

this was on another post about a week ago. Hope it helps...(sorry, can't get rid of highlighting when i was searching for it for you
"I'm seeing SO many posts about the same exact thing lately and it seems like it takes half a dozen responses before someone touches on the easiest answer, one that will drastically improve quality of life for a newly sleeved person.

Expect to be on a PPI (proton pump inhibitor) after surgery. If your surgeon does not bring this up, please be proactive and ask about being on one. If he/she doesn't prescribe one as a matter of course, generic over-the-counter PPIs (NOT antacids) are available and quite inexpensive.

PPIs are Nexium, Prilosec and Protonix; antacids are Pepcid, Tums or Rolaids. Many, many people have posted that Prevacid does not help, despite falling into the PPI category. It didn't do anything for me.

The feeling of hunger immediately post op? Most often it's acid and a PPI will control it.

Burning heartburn or acid reflux post op? Get on a PPI, not an antacid.

A really noisy new sleeve? Could be acid and a PPI will help. It could also just be a healing tummy, though, and is very common.

Do you feel pain, pressure or like food is coming back up when you lie down? It's acid. Take a PPI, and don't eat immediately before you sleep. sleep with your head inclined until the PPI controls the problem.

Everyone is different. I was only in need of a PPI for 3-4 months post op, though in times of stress (and apparently, pregnancy), I feel the need for one short term. More common seems to be 6 months of use and some people need them for a year.

If you're taking the time to research the sleeve, arm yourself with this information. Be prepared prior to surgery! I cannot express how much this one simple thing can affect your quality of life.

I hope this post makes the need for one even more visible, and leads to fewer newly sleeved patients living in pain or discomfort, and then complaining about their sleeves! Healing is a tough process with the soreness and seriously restricted diet already and there is no need to complicate matters when there's an easy fix."

I quit the day before surgery. So I haven't had anything carbonated since March. I can't say I miss it much. I took a drink of my husband's soda because I got our drinks mixed up one day and it didn't feel good going down. It made me feel like I do when I take one bite too many. It was the most painful belch I ever experienced.

I do agree with the distinction between tummy hunger and head hunger.
Yesterday I was walking through a large parking lot. On the edge of the parking lot was a Kentucky Fried chicken - the wind was coming right at me.... the aroma of Nature's most perfect food - fried chicken - was all embracing. I closed my eyes and took in the sweet aroma of the forbidden delicacy.... I saw angels... but they had chicken wings, and little baskets with rolls and gravy... I am pretty sure I passed out.
    Da^^%, head hunger.

You still won't be able to eat that much. Small, small portions. I kept my diet pretty much high Protein for the first few months and it helped lose the majority of my weight. I also would drink the low calorie G2 Gatorade diluted with Water and found out that it made me really gassy. So now I don't drink it. Now I'm doing much better.

Just picking up your last comment...in my experience my tastebuds have changed. I used to crave sugary things and they always tasted better. Since my surgery I crave and my taste buds enjoy salty things instead. My body also can only tolerate tiny amounts of sugary things, enough to get a taste and thats it, anymore (even if it is less than my sleeves capacity) and I am over it. My body in general craves things that are good for it, lean Proteins and veggies and weirdly eggs.
    Just my experience...

Some people do still report being hungry after surgery. Now, whether that is their head hunger talking, I don't know. The thing is if they don't figure out the difference between head hunger and read hunger, it's a moot point because they may not be likely to stick to the plan and eat stuff they shouldn't. Personally, from listening/ reading hundreds of posts over the past 2 years, it would seem to me that besides someone figuring out the difference between head hunger and real hunger is the technique used by the surgeon. I know there is a lot of differing opinions about whether the size of the bougie used really matters- but I really think it does. And, then to take that a step further... some surgeons sew a good way out from the bougie because they are afraid of the hour glass syndrome that they think might cause complications/ blockage.
At the end of the day, (and I know you know this), people who have the surgery must make a commitment to a lifestyle change- period. It is a life saving operation, but it's still just a tool.
