  1. What a great thread! Can't wait to be on the losers bench. You are all an inspiration!
  2. I suppose if they need extra time they will fax for approval. At least the surgery is approved. Heck' date=' I'll go home the same day at this point ( i know i'll eat my words, lol)
  3. I started having these food funerals. Everything and everything I could think of for about 2 months. I gained eight pounds and got very sick to my stomach 3 times. Monday I started my pre-pre-op diet of my own concoction. Pure Protein shake for Breakfast, pure Protein Shake for lunch. Mid afternoon boild shrimp and meat and veggie for dinner. Also started working out. Elyptical for 25 min yesterday, and full out gym for an hour today.. Two days down...heading towards a better life. Approved insurance today, should have my surgery date tomorrow!!
  4. Insurance companies do a nicotene test for life insurance. It is possible.
  5. Ot without a hurdle or two... But I am approved for surgery and one night stay(?) anywho cant wait to get my date tomorrow!
  6. APPROVED!!!!!! I hemmed and hawed about calling Fed BCBS to see how my insurance certification was coming along. i didn't want to pester, it was submitted last Thursday. I had to call, when i spoke to the rep, my heart dropped. Needs more info... More what? Need 3 month nut visits...but that was sent! Need another comorbidity for bmi under 40... No I dont, not according to the plan brochure, need 2 years of recorded BMi over 35... That was in the PCP letter!! Omg, "let me talk to a nurse". Tranfer...music...more music. Nurse Darla answers the phone. I explained it all. Darla could not figure out what the original reviewing RN was talking about, she agreed with me. "let me call you back"...ok wait, wait...1/2 hr later, darla calls and she approved me!!!!!! Doing a happy dance. i am so glad I called. Yipeee!!!

  9. Sleen chica. I have the same insurance. Hope mine turns around soon
  10. 20 lbs...on Optifast for 2 weeks preop. Already started a pre-pre-op diet.
  11. How I wish I knew this was an option 10 years ago. But then again, the sleeve wasn't insurance approved 10 years ago. i probably would have gotten the ban, then would have been miserable
  12. The thing that threw me over into the 400s was the nutritionist, and I had 3 visits with her. That is what bcbs told her was required ( still scratching my head on that), without that 135 bucks. Oh and i have to buy Optifast for preop diet 310 bucks.
  13. Do you have federal bcbs? I have paid 35 dollars for the surgery consult, 25 dollars for the psych, 75 for the outpatient endoscopy, the nut was self pay (she doesn't accept insurance) at 320 for 3 visits. The surgery itself will be 150 for the surgeon and 150 a day for the hospital stay... after 5 days, it's covered 100%
  14. My papers went out to Federal BCBS last Friday at 2pm. Trying to saty busy and positive. Started a pre-pre-op diet today to start getting used to full liquids only. A little torturous. I had a shake for morning, a shake for lunch, then i had a few shrimp , then some roasted chicken for dinner. I hope I can do this. hope to hit the gym tomorrow, at lunchtime. Tempted to call insurance, but won't drive myself nuts. From what other fed bcbs sleevers have said, I should know by weeks end, fingers crossed
  15. Today is the day I became super serious about getting ready for this surgery. I finally finished my last nut visit last Thursday and papers are out to the insurance, fingers crossed. I started a pre-pre-op diet of one protein shake in am, one at lunch and proteon on the form of chicken, seafood, or beef and a vegetable. I had intended to start the gym today, but work took me longer than planned and had to get home to meet the school buses rolling home...maybe tomorrow. I walked into the Vitamin Shoppe today to buy Pure Protein shakes and try an Isopure flavor ( took a sip of alpine punch, eh, not so bad). I felt bad. The girl behind the counter had this amused look on her face, seemed like she was amused at me being in there...oh well, my journey begins in earnest
  16. Should be a little over 3 months for me. Initial visit 6/25, 3 monthly nut visits, done, psych eval, done, letter from pcp, done, upper GI endoscopy, done, waiting on insurance approval and date.
  17. Stamford mom in my 50s seeks Similar buddy in Fairfield or New Haven counties for motivation and companionship on the sleeve journey. Just finished my requirements and hope to ne sleeves in Oct.
  18. Hy are the mobile apps so limited.? I can't see any pics or information. Can you the gurus work on this please!
  19. Older mom here of 9 yes 9 kids. 5 are either working, in college or grad school. 4 at home ages 5, 7, 10 ( special needs), and 13. I have my husband and best criend going to help me out. I am a fussy hoisekeeper and extremely organized and regimented, so it should be interesting to let the house and kids go for a few days. My 10 year old is pre-diabetic and overweight due to medications for her mental health disabilities, so a change in our diets would be good all around. fot my skinny 13 year old boy, and my littlest girls, I can give them extra carbs and fats. My hubby can use to lose a few, so I think it will work.
