  6. I am able to eat about 1/2 cup of soup on full liquids and I'm worried that is too much. I'm wondering if it will be more normal (1/4 cup) when I advance to soft foods.

  8. I went alone about a week ago to dr. Alvarez in Piedras negras and had no issues. I travel for work a lot and am almost always alone so I'm sure that helped.
  9. I'm 8 days post op and very emotional as well. I could cry at the drop of a hat. I've realized it is because I don't have my emotional coping mechanisms available (for me, food and wine). They numb my emotions. While I haven't been hungry I have that learned behavior to eat my feelings away so there is a gap. It's like pooping your pants and having to sit in it....insert angst, anger, frustration, etc for poop and that's how I've been feeling.

  11. Yes. Normal. I'm 7 days out and have been on clear liquids all week (~250-300 cals/day) and haven't been hungry or full. Start full liquids Monday for 2 weeks Monday.
  12. I guess I've been drinking too much. The discomfort when drinking liquids stopped yesterday afternoon and today I got in over 100ozs. Susan from dr. Alvarez said that is too much and it may deplete minerals. Weird - I'm worried as to why can I drink so much?? Prior to surgery I would drink 1-2 gallons a day but it doesn't seem like that should matter. Anyone else experience this? I'm five days post op. Maybe it's a good problem to have but I'm worried nonetheless.
  13. I'm newly sleeved but when I would stall on hcg, I would measure and would notice I was losing inches and my clothes would start fitting better. I've found my body has a way of moving things around in a stall.

  15. So I am sleeved as of Saturday by dr. Alvarez. Everything went fine and I am flying home today. Once they took the IV out on Sunday, I didn't take any pain meds for about 6 hours and was pretty miserable. I asked Jessica and she said they discouraged taking the pain meds unless you really need them. Yah - after 6 hours of no meds I decided I'm a wuss and really needed them. No point being completely miserable - I did have surgery after all. I will take them today since I am traveling home and try not to take them tomorrow. The gas pain and reflux were uncomfortable until yesterday (two days post op) but I've been taking the anti acid meds and it seems to help. I've been able to drink liquids albeit slowly. I just had some peppermint tea at the airport that was devine. I am going to try to tough it out the next four weeks. It's probably going to be hard. On clears for a week and then full for two more weeks. I'll weigh tomorrow although not optimistic. Very bloated and constipated. Tmi.

  20. I travel about 80% for work and bought one of those baby formula contains that has three spots for a scoop of protein powder. I think it will work out. I put the unflavored in it so i can add it to food if I have to eat out. Good luck!!

  23. On my last diet when I lost 25 lbs (which took 4 months - btw). I was complaining so my husband had me carry five 5 lbs bags of flour around in the grocery store. My perspective changed.
  24. How soon after surgery can you play golf? Thanks!
  25. May I ask how much you lost in your first four weeks? I'm getting sleeved next weekend and have a family reunion four weeks later. I know everyone is different but I am trying to decide if I am going to go to the party. I'm hoping maybe I could loose 20-26 lbs.
