  2. Same issue for me and I was sleeved about 3 weeks ago too (10/3/12). It was terrible the other day but I got out and did a long walk - 1 mile - and it miracously went away - feeling great now! I was told it could be a gas bubble trapped from surgery.
  3. Wow! Looking great! I even see a collar bone sticking out there...I'm pretty sure I don't have one. Will be nice to find mine. Keep up the great work!
  4. Are you taking in lots of high calorie liquids or have other underlying medical issues? If you are keeping your calories to 600-800 daily it is IMPOSSIBLE not to lose weight eventually. It is simple mathematics - calories in vs. calories out. If you are in a deficit you WILL lose weight. Are you retaining Fluid? That is VERY bizarre. I would demand better answers from your physicians.
  5. All of the above can administer. My surgeon and/or PCP have advised they will do them monthly or my surgeon will write a script for them to administer on your own. Ask your surgeon's office how they like to proceed.
  6. If it was me I would call your surgeon's office and explain the situation. Being that it is day 3 of a 14 day diet, I would think you could behave yourself with some soup, clean salad (meaning no cheese, croutons, ranch, etc) but just confirm to be sure. You wouldn't want to be overlooked for a promotion b/c it was assumed you were picky or it was uncomfortable to others. Just my 2 cents...
  7. Sex

Being 5 weeks out you it is probably just worked out muscles. Most surgeons say you can resume sexual activity when you feel comfortable. Here is a video about just that topic:
  8. Awesome job - you look great! Brag away - you deserve it! Keep sharing the photos, we all love to see them.
  9. What is Hplyori positive? My surgeon never checked for that? What is it?
  10. Oh, I didn't know you could take Unisom or any other sleep aid. I thought they wanted a non-medicated sleep state for accurate monitoring? Hmm...interesting...
  11. I personally have not had the surgery. I am a pre-opper too awaiting insurance approval. Here are my thoughts on how people are successful: 1) You physically will no longer be able to take in the amount of volume you used to 2) You go through all the pre-op testing, dietician classes, removing 85% of your stomach, etc - you want and will pretty much do anything to be successful 3) I hear your tastebuds change. What once was your kryptonite you probably won't like as much. 4) Having the consistent wins on the scale will stoke your mental weight loss fire 5) Mentally you kind of know...this is it...if you don't succeed with 85% of your stomach removed their are no other options I am with you on the fear of failure, but honestly I think as morbidly obese individuals we are desensitized to believing ourselves. We haven't been successful long-term. Why would this be any different? I just know in my heart this is my time and after reading all the positive, optimistic success stories on this forum I am looking forward to being the next one. Just my 2 cents...
  12. How long did each of you have to wait for approval and who is your insurance company?
  13. I am sure everybody lives this life when seeking WLS approval through insurance: Spend 3-12 months of your life meeting monthly with your PCP Dietician appointments Initial consultation with surgeon Labs, EKG, Chest x-ray (and any other applicable testing) Psych Evaluation Etc Etc Etc Submit to insurance AND, now we wait for insurance to approve. And what is really frustrating is waiting around for something that might not happen. I mean really, I just spent 9 months of my life jumping through hoops and paying ridiculous copays, deductibles, etc for no good guarantee that insurance will cover the surgery. So, I wait and hope for good news! Sincerely, Hopeful and Anxious
  14. I know it is bizarre feeling, but I actually slept really good there. Just try to relax and not think about all the crazy wires attached all over you.
  15. How far out from surgery are you?
