I don't have anything to add that hasn't already been mentioned, but I like the quote above. You are "getting up" and learning from this. Stay strong!!

The only time my family knew exactly how much I weighed was on the day of my surgery...my auntie looked at the scale and a tear came down her face...and I just looked at her and asked her, do you now understand why this is important to me?? I need to save my life, and I was actually bigger than this 3 weeks ago....she was speechless...
I told her to tell my cousins to pray that the surgery goes well....when I woke up from surgery I had 25 text messages from friends and family to read...words of inspiration and prayers....I was in alot of pain but while I was reading those text messages I didnt feel any of it...
If you believe your family will support you, let them....you will be amazed how good it will feel...you dont have to go through this jounery alone...

Diva - Well stated response. I too went to Mx and had a wonderful and successful surgery with no complications. My daughter is an RN @ U of M Amplatz Children's Hospital and another in medical school. They both stoke with my dr (Dr Ramos Kelly) prior to surgery and researched with me. The RN could not believe the attentive care that I received after surgery both at the hospital and hotel. Had I had the surgery here in the US the plan was - outpatient surgery with a follow up visit 1 week after and again 1 month after. I was in the hospital in MX for 3 nights after and at the hotel for 2 days after. I saw my surgeon at least 2 x per day for those 5 days.
There is good and bad anywhere in the world. People come here to research and learn from others. I can only comment on my own personal experience.

You told yourself in the post....you're over thinking this. You're stressing (which is a major contributor to weight gain) and this is not good. Instead of thinking about it so much and crunching the numbers until you are cross-eyed, how about going for a walk and taking a look around. Enjoying the fresh air, the pretty trees, the summer flowers, the birds overhead. Gatorade and Powerades are VERY high in sugar. This could be contributing as well. I heard someone say (in one of the MANY weight loss attempts I've tried) that sugar is a inflamitory (and addictive!). In other words, the more sugar you have, the more your body will become inflamed and store the sugar it doesn't need as fat. I've worked very hard to get off of sugar. I know it's hard, but you might move to the G2 or the Powerades with lighter sugar. Also, in that same course, she said to always eat Protein before you eat sugar, as the Protein helps your insulin stores deal with the increase of sucrose.
PS. Don't over think how your posts will sound. We're all individuals and have different ways of expressing ourselves. I'm sure some of what I say on here is easily ignored, but maybe somewhere, some time something I say might help.
    Good luck!!!

Hello, sorry you are having troubles~ I have yet to get sleeved however I know that planning is key~ Did you speak with a Nutritionist in regards to a food plan? If available I would make an appointment to assist you in getting back on track~ From what I have been reading Protein is vital so make sure you get that as well as your fluids in~ Also create a realistic exercise schedule even if it's walking during breaks at work or parking extra further in order to get more walking in~ baby steps to get yourself acclimated and in a better routine~ hope this helps~
    Best wishes~

    Hi Dave,
I am 8 months out and 100 lbs down, during my rapid weight loss period, I discovered my stomach did care for bread, skim milk or Greek yogurt. I never got sick, it just felt odd. Today, all is well but I just make wise choices. I use soy in my coffee and not milk, if I have bread whole grain and I Always eat Protein first. It is now my lifestyle. I had a piece of chocolate cake on my sons birthday this month, and it was great. I just did not eat half the cake . The VSG has been one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself and family.
Good luck to you, I hope you have a fantastic journey as well!

So I went ahead & opened it & it has been APPROVED!!!!!! OMG! I am beyond excited right now!! If anyone is going through this or wondering if it is even worth it, the answer is Yes! Fight for it! I'm so glad I did!! I was denied by Highmark because my bmi is not 50. But with much perserverance, research, proof, & appeal writing I GOT APPROVED!! WooHoo! Can you tell I'm excited?!?
