  1. I agree with everyone else. I am 9weeks and I consume 60-90g of protein a day, under 40g of Carbs and aim for the 64 oz of liquid. I have to consume 2 Premier protein shakes to meet my min protein for the day plus it counts as 22oz of liquid toward your 64oz for the day. I don't see a ticker so not sure how much you had to lose but the less your start weight you might not be seeing huge numbers out of the gate but it all adds up. My Dr says anywhere from 2-4 pounds a week is on target and you fall right in the middle of that. Try changing up your food and increase your water. Do they have you taking your vitamins and supplements? Don't be so hard on yourself - as many say on this site it is a marathon not a sprint!!!
  2. I have BCBS Federal and mine was completely covered. I would either have a meeting with your coordinator or switch Drs. I wouldn't let the dr force you into a surgery you don't want.
  3. No, I was under when they put mine in and took it out. I think they would have a very hard time doing that while you are awake.
  4. B12 is a manadatory part of my vitamin list for life. I choose to do the injections once a month which is easier to remember that another pill.
  5. Call the insurance company on Monday. I called every couple of days to see if they had received my paperwork.
  6. That is good that there isn't a reason that you should be denied. I had just wondered if they had given you the idea it might be denied. I have BCBS Federal and they seemed pretty easy to deal with. If you have a good coordinator at your dr office they should be able to handle any hiccups that come up. I think they have to say that nothing is guaranteed. I only met the BMI requirement as I didn't have any other co-morbidities. I know it would be upsetting to come so far & be turned down. When they submit your things...just call the insurance company regularly to see where it is in the process... I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you!!! Let us know how it goes!!
  7. I did not have that problem. I think I have seen previous posts talking about the steps if you are denied. Try searching "denial" and see what comes up. Is there a particular reason you think you will be denied?
  8. I agree...put a call into your NUT. For me it was first 2 weeks full liquids, 2 weeks puree/soft and 1 month regular. But both my dr and NUT (in the dr office) are on the same page with their phases. We were given a binder with info and sample diets. I do have to say that I'm still basically on liquids & soft going on 6 weeks post op. I have been adding little bit of regular here and there to find out what new tummy likes & doesn't. Currently having issues with milk (hoping it will pass because I like milk).
  9. I've been walking since day 1. Dr said 2 months I can start doing situps, pushups, etc. Currently no arm weights over 5 pounds. Low intensity cardio until 6 weeks (next Tuesday for me) & then increase as body allows.
  10. I'm allowed to have iceberg but have been sticking the fresh greens & spinach. NUT said iceberg is hard to digest for some...just not ready to test it out ;-}
  11. I also have issues with Vitamins making me nauseous. I use Centrum Chewables...they are orange flavored and I nibble a little at a time after I have my Protein shake. Hope this helps.
  12. My NUT said it would stop between 6-9 mths. I haven't started losing any yet and holding my breath!!
