Any surgery twins (April 11th)
Sorry, just saw this. I wound up getting COVID last week so I was totally dehydrated. Before that I only had a craving once when my kids were eating chips. I hate to admit it but liked the salt off of a couple. I feel that my stomach makes noises but don't feel hungry. What about you?

Lap-Band Revision
Following, sort of as I had my lap band removed 5 years ago and dr wouldn't do the sleeve at the same time. I am finally starting the process to get the sleeve and wished I would have gotten it years ago.

Thanks!- Clothes???
Thanks! Oh, corsets - sounds like fun! I never thought about adjustable pants...I buy them for my super skinny DD - lol! I also should make an end-of-the-month goal, I never thought of that. Good idea.- Clothes???
I am excited that I lost 35 pounds but my clothes look really dumpy on me. I would hate to buy a total new wardrobe but need to get a few essential work/dressy items. I am probably a size 20-22 but would like to get a couple of itmes that would also fit when I lose more. Any ideas or suggestions???- Chest Discomfort
I had a hiatal hernia repair with the lalp band and I went to a gastro dr. He told me that it was a gas bloated sydrome but I went for an endoscopy just to be on the safe side. But, I felt better that it was "normal" and went away. Although, it took about a month to go away. It seemed to go away when I really started to walking..not just walking around the block but working A LOT!!!- After Fill
I was finally able to get my first fill and the PA says to follow all clear liquids for 3 days, then stage 2 for a week, and then stage 3 for a week. I asked the dr if I could start the stages earlier and he said no, it is important to follow it so the band doesn't slip and my body adjusts to it. I am going to be careful but def not going to follow this schedule.- Need Help Off The Topic...
Those are some cute plate ideas. I could only think of one: Newleaf and maybe could incorporate it into your loss by turning over a new leaf...- Metabolic Counseling???
On my directions that I received for my 1st fill it stated to make an apt with a metabolic counselor. I would have questioned what it entails etc but the dr did not mention it to me and I read it after I was home. I am going to call Monday but Any info is appreciated!- Sudden Sharp Pain Around Port Area (2 Weeks Post Op) ??
That makes me feel better to hear that it does take about 2 months before the port soreness goes away. I still wear nightgowns to bed and lose clothing around the area but when I have a pair of tighter fitting pants I wear a belly band. I had it when I was pregnant (it is from Motherhood Maternity) and it lies under my stomach and goes all the way to under my breasts. I feel that it takes some of the pressure of the pants cutting into me go away.- After Fill
I was thinking something did not seem right but thought my dr was ultra conservative. I also was not able to get the fill today because I have to get an endoscopy done but I definitely will question the diet. You are correct, it is exactly the same but was specifically given a separate instruction sheet advising this. So, I do think this is what they would like me to follow although it does not seem necessary. I have been following all the rules but this one might me in my best interest to break (when the time comes). Thanks!- Esophagitis After Being Banded???
Thanks everyone! I was scheduled today for my first fill and only got a GI done and have an apt on Mon to meet w a gastro to get an endoscopy done.- Esophagitis After Being Banded???
After being banded four weeks ago I still have pressure in. Y chest and tightness in my throat. I also had the hiatal hernia repair done. I should also mention that I developed thrush after surgery. I was getting nowhere with the PA so yesterday I demanded to see the doctor. He thinks I may have esophagitis or the her is repair may be too tight. Going tomorrow for my first fill and they would have more insight then. But. Based upon results I may have to go for an endoscopy. Did anyone ever experience a situation like this? If so , I would spare Kate any advise suggestions and treatment pptions that are Avai Thanks!- After Fill
I have my first full tomorrow. My dr must be really conservative, here is my diet: First week - Clear Liquids ( Jello is included) Second week - Protein shakes and puréed foods Third week - soft solids/mushies Fourth week - regular diet Then I would be back for another fill.,.- Chest Pressure Still?
I am ones month post op and also had the hiatal hernia repair and stil feel constan pressure in my chest. I also have tightness in my throat. I called the dr's office last week and the PA told me that the more weight I lose will give the lapband more room and I should feel less or no pressure at all soon. She also told me to call this week if the feeling remains the same. But, I have lost 27 pounds and still feel the same. I have my first fill Thurs so I will discuss it then but just wondering if anyone has any opinions or similar experiences? Thanks!!- 8 Days Post-Op And Paon
- Sudden Sharp Pain Around Port Area (2 Weeks Post Op) ??
I don't have the sharp pain that you experienced but feel sore in that area, too. I also try to wear my pants under the port area and wear nightgowns when home. If we feel the same way then I am sure it is part of the healing process. I am wondering if we will always feel that we have something in our stomached? Does that feeling ever go away?- Need Help With Protein Shakes
Thanks so much for sharing! The responses have definitely steered me in the right direction. I am looking forward to start taste testing.- Need Help With Protein Shakes
Is there a consensus out there on what is the best tasting and best Protein shake available for both the ready made ones and the powder mixes? Also, for my Stage 2 Diet (Week 2) it says to add Protein Powder to all low protein liquids. Could anyone suggest what protein powder they use? Lastly, does it matter if I make my shakes with skim milk or should it be with only Water or ice? Thanks!- Crushing Pills ?
My next question is can I swallow Ambien or do I also need to crush it? I asked today and was told that I can swallow my birth control pill and stared at the pill ten minutes before I was ready to take on the challenge. But, I was able to do it. I should have brought the Ambien with me today...they are also small in size but oval. Any opinions???- How Are All My July 3Rd Bandsters Doing?
It is amazing what 2 days makes! I honestly did not think I would be feeling progressively better each day but it does really happen. I am still uncomfortable and cannot sleep on my side but have improved a lot over these two days. When I went to the dr today (I saw the P.A. though) she told me that I could start to exercise and not to lift more than 25 pounds. I feel that I am now where ready for that and will stick to walking as exercise especially with the hernia repair. But, I know that I baby myself when I have an injury and maybe it takes me longer to heal. I also stopped the pain meds at day 5 and are better off without them. - Clothes???
