  1. I completely relate with you. I am 22 years old, never had a boyfriend. I've had guys in my life interested in me though but could never follow though. I would always tell my girlfriends I was just "picky" buy really I was just ashamed of myself and my body and had no self esteem or confidence. Big mistake on my part, I never let myself be happy. I am soon to be sleeved and I can't wait to actually be myself around guys and let go of my insecurities.
  2. I've seen my nutritionist only once. She never gave me an exact diet to follow, just recommended the south beach diet and said that a high protein low carb diet is the best. It's going to be so hard but so worth it.
  3. Thanks for the encouragement! I have decided that my diet is going to be low carb high protein, breakfast then a protein shake for lunch and then a meal for dinner. I do exercise, just not as much as I should... So I need to start hittin the gym again. I just need to take it day by day I guess. I'm just naturally a very nervous/ anxious person so I'm working on not letting it get the best of me. I will update soon!
  4. I bought the blue raspberry, have yet to drink it though... Maybe I'm a little nervous? Lol I will let you know how it is!
  5. K I'm just going to say it... I'm scared out of my mind! I know I'm going to mourn food like nooo other. It's hard for me to stay focused in general and now I need to start my diet. I don't know where to start, that's my main problem. I need to lose 20 lbs before mid October. I'm 22 years old and live with my family ( little sis and brothers) I'm always surrounded by carbs and junk food. Ugh. I feel like I'm going to fail at this.

  7. Where do I start!? I will not miss being "the heavy friend" out of my group of girlfriends. I will not miss going to the mall with all of them and just holding all THEIR shopping bags, lol! No more hiding from the camera for pictures. And most definitely no more just being the girl with all the guy friends but no boyfriend... Can't wait to be sleeved and start my journey!!!!
  8. lol. Thanks! Sounds like everyone is different with their effects, except for feeling it faster! I guess I'll just see for myself sooner or later lol atleast now I'm not completely terrified to try it
  9. I've read through a few threads in the past but they didn't really explain too much about drinking alcohal (carbonated and non carbonated) I was just wondering what exactly post VSG happens? How does alcohal affect our bodies? Is it the same and can we still drink the same amount as before with the same effects? Just curious.
  10. Good luck! Keep us posted !
  11. Awesome! I go to BGH too. My doctor is Dr. Hoffman. I haven't been sleeved yet, but I lost all my pre op weight and I'm just waiting for a date.
  12. I was banded in 2006 when I was 16 years old (part of a child study) back then I didn't know what I was getting myself into, not to mention I wasn't mature enough to fully grasp that it was a life changing experience. Since the beginning I had many complications. I never followed the post op liquid/ purée diet and I look back now in disgust with myself. I lost only 40 lbs in the first 2 years, only because I learned how to control my band. I drank while eating, and then would throw up my food only to re eat what I had lost. Eventually I gave myself a hiatal hernia from all the abuse i was giving my band, i also made myself a second stomach (a bulging pouch above my band). My doctors decided to revise my band and fix my hernia in 2009, since then I just haven't had any success. Now, being older and more mature knowing that I have to focus on my health I am in the process of being sleeved. So far I have lost 10 lbs pre op, just waiting for a date. I'm so excited and terrified at the same time, I hope I will have better luck this time.
