Hey pep, Welcome!! I bought the Gas-X strips and never used them. If you'd like, PM me with your name and address and I'll send them to you. I'm just over 2 months out and figure if I haven't used them at this point chances are I don't need them!!
  2. I really appreciate this thread. I'm 4 weeks out today and this week I've been so tired!! I'm getting in all my Water and 85-90 grams of Protein per day so I was starting to think something was wrong! Thank you for the reassurance that this is perfectly normal!!!

I think it's supposed to be for a 16.9 oz bottle, but I usually add it to 24 or 32 oz...I'm weird and like the flavor weak.

    being around food/food prep

Before surgery I told the family I didn't know when I would feel up to cooking, post surgery. They were extremely understanding, which was awesome. The strange thing is that after about 3 days I felt good and decided I wanted to cook for them! It didn't bother me in the least and I had fun (I love to cook). The only odd part was having to ask someone to be my taster!

Fiddleman, True Lemon also makes peach lemonade, raspberry lemonade, orange mango, and cherry lime. I don't add flavor to my Water too often but when I do, I use the True Lemon products. I love them.

If you're taking in too much air when drinking, I highly recommend a Camelbak bottle. I've always used them at school and my NUT is a big fan. Even though it has a straw she said the design actually prevents you from taking in too much air. I also like them because its easy to track how much I've had to drink.

I do!! I teach where I live...which, after commuting 125 miles a day down to the Bronx when I first starting teaching, I appreciate more than words can express!!

Hi all!! I was an elementary teacher for 7 years (grade 4 and grade 2) and for the past 3 years I've been a high school librarian. I was supposed to be sleeved this past October but my coordinator got cold feet as it was my tenure year. She suggested I wait until school was out, and I'm so glad I did! I was sleeved June 26 and I'm down 20 lbs since then. I really appreciate having the summer to adjust to my new normal. I've been very open with my colleagues and they have been extremely supportive. I'm in the Hudson Valley of NY.

    Therapy

I really appreciate everyone's input and support. I called another therapist (someone a friend uses and who I've met in a non-therapy setting) and will be seeing him next week. Also called the original therapist to let her know I would not be seeing her anymore. When she asked me why I said that I didn't feel a connection and the fact that she didn't remember things I had said, even though she took notes, made me feel like she didn't value me.

Thank you, everyone! She takes copious notes and I was thinking she should read them over before I come in (all patients, actually). I'm going to look around.
  11. I'm 3 weeks post-op and took the plunge a couple of weeks ago and started therapy. I chose someone who deals with disordered eating. The thing is, I don't really feel like I "click" with her. It bothers me that she doesn't seem to remember things I've told her. Because I've never done this before, I'm wondering if this is normal. Any input is greatly appreciated.

    Hello, I'm new here.

If you feel comfortable with the surgeon and want to work with him or her, I would suggest waiting for them to get their insurance backing in place. I ended up having to delay for 10 months due to work and I used that time to get used to protein shakes (had one for breakfast every day for those 10 months), practicing not drinking with meals (plus 30 minutes before and after), building up my distance when walking (got up to 5 miles!), and really starting to work on my head. Good luck!
  13. Mix the chicken soup with water. Heat the wTer first (it should be no warmer than 130 degrees).
