  1. I am also having surgery tomorrow and drank the pico salax at 7..and have to drink another one at 6. How is is possible for a human being to have so much gunk inside them when they have been on liquids only for 4 weeks. I better be down 5 lbs tomorrow morning after all this lol. Will be thinking of u and all the other oct 2 sleevers. I check in at 930 pst
  2. Well u have lots of time! I had a 4 week liquid diet and lost 22 lbs. I weigh 260 now and surgery is tomorrow. Until u have a pre op liquid diet, focus on ur Protein and Water. Boycott bad carbs, sugars, soda and I'm sure u will drop lots of weight before ur actual pre op starts
  3. I'm assuming that a a CNA one would be involved in heavy lifting? I'm a nurse and my doctor told me 6 weeks off. And I'm gonna enjoy each and every minute
  4. Good luck everyone and ok keep us posted when ur well enough to check in
  5. Good luck to all of the October sleevers! And to those going tomorrow, what better way to start off the month and lead the way for the rest of us. I'm Oct 2:-)
  6. I've been taking it since August. It's caused some extra hair growth on my face but nothing horrendous
  7. Totally random and off topic, but I can't get over how strong and long my nails have become since getting off junk food and adding biotin. I'm going to paint them today even tho I will have to remove the nail polish Tuesday morning when I go to hospital
  8. Yes all pre op. keep in mind that I have been on shakes and water since sept 4. My pre op was 4 weeks. I did slip here and there but never with a carb. It was always a piece of chicken thigh or breast or hard boiled egg. I was 280 and today I weighed 258 on my doctors scale (262 on my scale this morning) we are so close
  9. Just had my final pre op appointment with my surgeon. I am down a total of 22 lbs according to his scale surgery is on Tuesday. The nerves are kicking in!!
  10. I just called the hospital I'm going to..I figure they would since they opened up like a year ago. I was told no because it interferes with equipment
  11. I have a high BMI. Not sure exactly what it is. I started September 4 on a shake and water only liquid diet...I have had slip ups..but healthy ones (a piece of roasted chicken, small salad). I started at 280 lbs and am now 263 (17 lb loss). The first 3 days are the hardest..after that smooth sailing
  12. I mean congrats not confer lol
  13. Confers! How long was the operation? And how long did u spend in recover
  14. I was told glucerna which is a diabetic ensure but the carbs in each are like 25! So I looked into the boost diabetic drink and they are only 16 carbs in each and higher Protein. My doctor also okayed that. The Atkins advantage shakes are good too and low calorie
  15. Something is better than nothing. Focus on ur Water, Protein and if u have room (which I won't) ur carbs last but I would stay away from the carbs as well. Remember what ur protein needs will be after surgery and try making that goal. And I agree with the Protein shakes. I have been on shakes only for 4 weeks and have cheated here and there but down 17ish lbs so far. I too am so nervous about my liver!!
  16. Brag away! That's awesome:) keep going girl! Ur gonna be at goal in no time!!
  17. I'm also October 2nd and I get 3-4 shakes a day and water..that's it. But yesterday I was diagnosed with a sinus infection and I have to take my antibiotics with food and avoid milk..problem is my boost is made of milk! So I had a piece of chicken. I need to lose 3 lbs before surgery. Get back on track and we will be fine. Don't forget ur last day will be clear fluids only I'm sure u will drop some weight there
  18. The nesting syndrome has begun! I had just a week left until the big day. I am doing laundry, cleaning my bathroom, organizing my bathroom which will be my haven during recover. Bought some candles, a nice bed side table for those days where I just can't walk to the kitchen, a neck pillow, packing my bag for the hospital as I only have one day off before my surgery so I need to get all of this done now, dusting, cleaning the windows, cleaning the car..yeeoowww!! Lol
  19. I'm no doctor, but it almost sounds like a gallbladder attack. Check with ur pcp/surgeon just to be safe
  20. So this cold of mine is actually a sinus infection. Great. Went to a walk in clinic this morning and got an order for doxycycline. It's a ten day course. 10th day being oct 2..my surgery date. So I guess on my final pre op appointment with my surgeon I will be asking him if he wants me to continue to be on it a few days prior to surgery or not. Wish me luck!
  21. Of course Murphy's law has it out for me. Woke up this morning with a cold hope it goes away by surgery day. Been fighting it tooth and nail! Vitamin c, lots of fluid, taking my sinus cold meds..any other tips people?
  22. Congratulations! Our stats are almost identic and judging by ur name, ur 25? I'm 25 my highest weight 280 and current 264..surgery is oct 2 I was originally hoping to be 250 by then but looks like ill be more like 260. Hoping to have ur type of success in 6 months:) any secrets or tips u would like to share?
