"Ummmmm" I think people are always quick to judge how about a possibility while eating what we are required to but maybe have a lot lower metabolism than others that's a Huge possibility! Maybe have your metabolism tested I did and found out mine is lower than most meaning I will lose slower!

ThNk you!!! I was just gonna say that. Who said we were eating junk food? I am just trying to say that I can eat more than 4 ounces. I don't hAve to take sips and I only drink Water, no sugar liquids. Did I try pizza? Yes I have . Can I eat more than 4 ounces? Yes! All I eat is healthy food which doesn't bother my stomach. I know I started with 213 and my doc said I won't lose as fast as others who are heavier and I was stuck at 178-180 for like 3 weeks so I started my liquid diet again to help the weight loss. Ohh and my last doc check up apparently I have this bacteria I forgot what is called but it makes u bloated and slows the weight loss. Next month is my 3 month check up and they will be giving me antibiotics. It's funny how people judge others so fast. Just bc I can't lose 50lbs in one month does not mean I'm eating junk! and I understand mamato2. Thank you for answering her question for me ... We are on the same boat.

Uh...to '2much fun"...anger issuers, perhaps? I said NOTHING about anyone being "stupid," etc. I was simply trying to pull from the 57-slide presentation what that presenting doctor said.
FYI here's that link. As you will see, I didn't put MY extrapolation into either report, so...you know not of which you speak. Ponce.pdf" rel="external nofollow">http://asmbs.planion.com/EvalCenter/ASMBS/images/106296_6_106296_6_LAGB_still_valid_operation-Ponce.pdf
I don't get into conversations with what I call online 'rhetorical agitators' who bark about this or that. I simply shared info from, yes, an "Obesity Week" conference, not a "so-called" conference. Google it.
Your nastiness, anger and aggression is unnecessary. Maybe you need to live up to your username--get out and have some fun.
    Have a nice day.

Can't wait to wear heels comfortably I felt at 230 they didn't look good at all on me so I went with boots (tall) often! I want a breast reduction and lift but have for a long time I'm so glad I waited now that I've had surgery! I'm curious to see how many get lifts done after? Shockingly I heard reductions are horribly painful but still worth it! Show some pics in your heels ladies!

mamato2 reacted to SerendipityHappens in Be honest - does anyone regret the surgery?
Yes there are people on this forum who regret the surgery, but I'm not one of them! Best thing I ever did.. If I was able to be successful with diet and exercise alone then I wouldn't have ever gotten up to 360 pounds in the first place. The way I feel about it is our stomachs are not MADE for eating three square meals a day plus a few Snacks here and there.... An unsleeved stomach is the size of a FOOTBALL ya know so you can fill up and then not eat for a few days.. Do I really need a stomach the size of a FOOTBALL in a culture where you eat three times a day?????
Been sleeved for three and a half months now and it's going great. I can eat anything I want but choose not to most of the time. The portions are satisfying and I'm losing weight albeit a bit slower than many other sleevers.

mamato2 reacted to JanetPRN in What exactly do you think a "fast loser" is?
I can't quantify these numbers for you, but I will suggest an app that I use daily. It's call"Get-2-Goal" in the iPhone App Store. It is very simple weight loss tracker that plots out your weight loss according to your surgery date and puts it on a graph that show Above average , Average or Keep working. The also have a progress table for expected WL @ 6, 12 24 months.
I have used this tool for 5 months and I consistently fall slightly above the average line, for example , at 5 months I weigh 176. The "average" weight at 6 months based on my stats is 172 and @12 months is 150.
This app is free and really helps me track my progress. It also showed me that as of today I am 72% towards my goal weight . It gives me a nice little affirmation.

I did everything that was suggested - had access to the best products and I still lost almost half of my hair - which is really long - it was so thin I was afraid I would have to cut it.....luckily my connections to the hair industry helped - I did get extensions - not the kind that are sewn in but the ones that come in small clumps of hair of probably 20-30 strands - they are all individually attached to my existing hair - and it has worked wonders. Kept what hair I had from falling out so quickly - I have had a few put in over the last few months to keep it full - and now I see the new growth.....finally!!!

THANKS! I am obsessed with that room. There is even a bar in one of those cabinets... got the martini glasses and the shaker in it. Waiting til I can fit clothes and enjoy a cocktail then I will never leave that room.

I'm 5 months post op and down 90.6 pounds. It feels.....well pretty amazing! Honestly I feel like a new person. It did take a while for my mind to catch up with my body, and some days I'm not quite there. However, I just think it's completely changed my life. I have more confidence, I feel more empowered, I feel proud of myself that I've taken back control. I also discovered that running is a great way to deal with the stress in my life instead of eating, which was a huge turning point for me emotionally. Just because you have the surgery doesn't necessarily mean all the reasons you are overweight will disappear. For me, finding a new, healthy way to deal with life was key.
    Good luck!!

Look at your band site(stoma) as if it's a funnel. Large and even small chunks of food can plug it up. For me, it's usually just too much food eaten too fast that impacts and overwhelms the pouch area in front of the stoma. For example: Triscuits with all their little crisp threads, even chewed to mush, seem to behave like a dam in front of my stoma and no food can pass till the esophageal peristalsis contractions force the bolus of food to pass the stoma.
Dry foods like chicken, roast pork and beef seem to struggle getting through my stoma. It rarely is painful for me but it is quite uncomfortable. It happened Saturday night at a restaurant. I had to wait about 30 minutes for it to pass. Sometimes, it can take an hour to pass.
I've never been one who can PB(productive burp) these up. I do slime a lot though. Sliming is when your esophagus creates a lot of saliva/phlegm to lubricate the path through to the stomach. If you're home, you can spit it up. I've spent several minutes in restaurant bathrooms spitting up gobs of slime. It seems to reduce the pressure and discomfort.
Ask me anything? I've probably been stuck 300 times in the last 2 years.

And oh my word! I thought I was going to die! I threw up 6 times everything got stuck and I couldn't breathe! There is a silver lining I'm a carb addict I truly believe it was a slap on the hand and I well scared the crap out of myself! Anyone else have this happen? Could I have hurt my sleeve? I now know I have a sleeve and it doesn't like everything! Feedback? Yes I was Sleeved 1/14! To soon?

Taco night! Made with ground chicken spiced with cumin and chili powder and mixed with salsa, wrapped in a romaine lettuce leaf instead of a tortilla, avocado, tomatoes, onions, low fat cheese and a tablespoon of plain Greek yogurt.

I am glad you guys are questioning the 6 month doctor comment. I wonder where these guys get this stuff sometimes. My surgeon was one of the best, worked at a center of excellence, studied at the best bariatric center in America. Words like that never came out of his mouth.
I lost well the first 6 months but lost nearly as much the second 6 months. I never have sweated stalls. I figured they were scientifically doomed. I was right. They were just a curiosity to me.
Having an active lifestyle, eating right, living right, becoming a life hound instead of a food hound, these things bolster your success.
