Ooooooh I won't be able to have chocolate in the house. I haven't had any for a couple of weeks. My son had a caramello koala in the fridge (husband bought it in to the house) and I thought "I'll just bite the head off." 10 minutes later I was back for the rest of it, and it made me feel like crap. Chocolate is just a no-go for me. I get a sugar high then want more when I come down.

Or make yourself burn off the calories you eat from the candy...at least it will definitely keep you from gaining weight and could help get you to start losing weight again.
I started using a pedometer and trying to get in 10,000 steps a day. It's a goal to meet each day. I started slowly though and have worked up to 10,000. After wearing the pedometer for a day, I worked on adding 500-1000 steps a day to get to 10,000. Sometimes I just walk around the house to get in the steps....lol

Sorry I only just got your message, I hope all went well this morning.. Love to hear how you are. I Paid my $500 for my medibank hospital when I had my band out and as it is in the same calender year I don't have to pay any more monies except for Dr Dolan's out of pocket expenses.

3 weeks ago I express posted my 'release of supperannuation on compassionate medical grounds' forms to DHS for approval.
Within a week and a half I received my approval letter. The next day I express posted the application form for my super fund along with my approval letter to my super fund.
I received the full amount for my surgery in my bank account this morning. The whole approval and release (I'm my case) took just over 3 weeks.
I hope other sleevers have as much luck with it as I did.

    Hi JulezitBandToSleeve and foxdownunder,
I'm being sleeved by Kevin Dolan as well, though not until the end of October. All the best for you guys this month. I'll just go over to the corner now and wait not-so-patiently for October to come around (kidding).

Hi Mike, I am going on 5 weeks post-op (on Thursday it will be five weeks since I was banded)... I went back to work on my 8th day post-op! Please remember two important things... #1 You must get up and walk every hour if you can, even if it is not outside and you just walk around your house you must walk as much as you can while you're recovering (it is very important) and #2 a foreign object has been placed in your body and your insides are probably extremely swollen (like mine were) and it feels like you are short of breath and you feel tightness, but it sounds like your band is very tight because you're pretty swollen... my swelling took about 3 weeks to go down!! I agree with Carolinagirl that you should call your doctor and let them know what you are experiencing. Please know that you can always reach out here on lapbandtalk.com because there will always be someone who can relate to what you are going through and please don't give up... it definitely gets better!!
p.s. NO you didn't make a mistake... this is the best decision you have ever made in your life!!

you need to get a chill pill..........we all have been there with pain and thinking WTF did i do...if you are having chest pains and short of breath, dont wait til next week to see dr, call them on phone and tell them. you need to let your body heal, take your meds to help with pain and try to rest.
again, you just had major surgery. please relax. you are doing fine. hang in there okay

My mom sent me a cute new top from Chicos, just as a really nice thing to do for me. I was thrilled that if fit because I could NEVER shop there. The clothes have always been too small for me. So I had my daughter take a picture so I could send it to her with my thank you. It was the first time in years that I actually wanted my picture taken and the first time, in as long as I can remember, that I actually liked what I saw. Below is a picture taken of me a few weeks before surgery and the picture of me today. I guess its time to start documenting my progress in photos. It has been exactly two months since my surgery. I have lost 52 pounds since that photo was taken. I still have a long way to go, but now I feel like it is possible and that I will never be going back to the old me!

I am going to try this, hopefully it works! I had my sleeve surgery November 29th, 2010. The first pictures are at my highest when I got married (I love my husband, he has loved me no matter what size!), around 260ish lbs. The second are the day of my surgery, 220ish lbs. The last pictures are at my current weight, 135-137lbs (I LOVE my hormones, I LOVE my hormones). There are 2 standing in my old jeans and I fit in 1 leg (1 is me AND my daughter in my jeans). There is also a picture of my biggest jeans (size 22), and my new jeans (size 4..I wear a size 4-6). I never dreamed I would ever be this size or weigh in the 130's. I honestly never thought I would even reach goal because I had tried and failed so many times in my life. I hope these pictures are inspiration that, if you let it, the sleeve is an amazing tool! And I hope it inspires the slower losers too! It took me 18 months to reach my goal weight of 140lbs, and I have even lost a few more pounds in the last couple of months. So don't get discouraged if you don't lose all your weight in the first 6 months. If you make the changes you need to make to have a healthy life, it will happen!

I also had the lapband put in last year and removed this last february and sleeved in march. I only waited one month to get the sleeve done. I went on the lapband talk forum and told everyone that the sleeve was well worth it but my comments weren't welcome haha. They basically were upset that I'd even bring it up that lap bands were a failure.

I had Lapband surgery in 2002. It stopped working in 2005. I couldn't find a doctor to help me figure out why it wasn't working and how to fix it. Finally in April 2012, I found one. I got an X-ray that showed the port separated from the tubing. I had surgery last Friday to remove the Lapband and convert to the sleeve. My doctor said when he removed my band, there was too much scar tissue to proceed. While operating, my stomach tore and he was forced to go forward with the sleeve conversion. I had to wear the drain for a week (it's usually removed before you leave the hospital), and I'm very sore due to the complications. I am finally feeling a bit better and I am very grateful things turned out the way they did. I'm glad I didn't have to wait for my sleeve conversion. I have lost 12.5 lbs since my surgery last Friday.

I hope you heal quick and get your sleeve surgery date soon. Thank you for posting that. I am sure it will help others with their decision. Originally I had planned to do lap band. There are constant commercials for it here and it sounded so great. I thought, less invasive, no cutting out parts, no re-routing my intestines, reversible if necessary. But the average weight loss seemed a lot less, and the constant maintenace made me rethink. You just confirmed my reasons for questioning. I am so sorry you had to go through that. Best of luck to you on the next phase. I will keep you in my prayers.

Yeah. I guess. The crazy part is that even though I SEE the progress in terms my body - I'm still feeling some kind of way that I'm still over 200# and it's been almost 2 years. I'm busting my @$$, i have a healthy food life... But I'm stuck. It's frustrating not to see the scale move.
I've never been small. Doubt that i ever will be. I think id be fine where i am now - sz 12/14 - if the scale said 175. But I'd also be fine at a sz 16/18 of th scale said 175. Makes NO sense. My own dumb struggle, I suppose.
And I know my body will stop where it's comfortable. But I did NOT have surgery to still
tip 200#. So I just have to keep going....

I had my sleeve on 16 th and i am doing really well! The insitions are healing beautifully and i had already see some more definition on my cheeks! As for weightloss, i will only weigh once a week. Last week's weigh in said i was down 2 kg since surgery - which is an awesome find, as i don't feel like i am on a diet! I have also been able to button up some cargo pants that i couldn't do pre-op and to me that is what matters! I' ll be waiting for my clothes to tell me i've lost weight, not my scales!
