Post op day 2-- cant eat help.
I'm 2 days out ant having trouble, too. I have sugar free twin popsicles that are about 2.5 oz and I put them in a bowl because it takes an hour to finish one.

don't let anyone fool you. recovery is awful.
I can't tolerate pain meds at all, so I felt completely awful. I had the dry heaves when I tried to drink, too. Between the dry heaves and all the IV liquids I manged to majorly piss myself TWICE! No idea how I got down that contrast liquid the next day, it was like being tortured. They gave me 3 different nausea meds along with the patch beforehand but nothing worked. Much better that I'm back at home with my sugar free popsicles.

When I drop my weight, I'm going to try (insert answer)!
Skinny jeans!

almost there.
Mine wasn't bad, I sat in the guy's office and was asked a lot of general psych background questions like if I've ever had depression or if I have stress at work.

Sushi ?
I'm praying I can still tolerate sushi post open. I LOVE it. I told my husband we'll order a boat, I'll have like 4 pieces and he gets the rest.

Eating out! How do you sleevers do it?
I have a tendency to put leftovers in the fridge and forget about them. I hope I don't wind up wasting too much food!

How do you not go broke?
Good idea! I'm a Pinterest addict, too! I might go to Goodwill, too, but I'll have to travel out to near my in-laws or something. The one closest to me is in Reading, PA which is a highly impoverished area so I can't imagine they'll be any great finds.

How do you not go broke?
I'm hoping to take some of my clothes in. I haven't done it before, but I have a machine and used to make costumes. I figure I can probably find a tutorial on YouTube. I have some smaller dresses but they're ones I used to wear to Dracula's Ball so not exactly work appropriate.

January 2013 Sleevers?
My supervisor was already freaking all week about my LOA. No one else can really cover my accounts but her. I think she's also a little jealous judging by comments she made when I told her about the surgery.

January 2013 Sleevers?
I think I put on 4lbs or so over the holidays but I figure I'll probably lose it during this preop diet. I'm so glad I don't have to do liquids, I wouldn't be able to function.

Sleeved 12/31 - Story so far..
Glad to hear you made it safe and sound!

GOOD fast food choices ?! :)
I love taco bell, and have surgery in 12 days. I'm still trying to imagine myself going through the drive-thru and saying, "I would like ONE taco." Usually it's three.

Losing breast weight
I hope I don't lose there at all! Though I'll be happy to be rid of my bra band extenders!!!!!

Clothes dont fit!
It can depend on how big you are starting out, too. I've gone down nearly 50lbs preop and only went from a 28 to a 26. I've heard 10% weight loss is usually about a pant size, but it's not always so.

January 2013 Sleevers?
Is anyone else excited about getting some time off from work? My mother in law is taking my baby for the first few days since I won't be able to lift her up and chase after her for a bit. I'm kinda looking forward to some time to hang out at home, drink my broth, read my Kindle, and watch something other than Disney Junior!! Lol!

Are all lap surgeries about the same?
I had my gallbladder out a few years ago laproscopically and I'm wondering -- is a gallbladder removal similar to a sleeve surgery as far as pain and recovery time? With my gallbladder I went in on a Wednesday and was back to work on Monday. I know recovery won't be quite THAT quick with the sleeve but I'm curious if someone who's had both done could tell me how it compares?

Cant stop eating!
Starting my pre-op diet super soon and I've been eating like a sow over the holidays.

Did anyone else fail the 2 week pre-op diet...
You'll do amazing! Tomorrow you'll be posting that you're out of surgery and feel fine!

Did anyone else fail the 2 week pre-op diet...
I've known people that completely ignored their pre-op diet and were fine. Not that I'm SUGGESTING that, but I don't think a slip-up or two would null the whole diet. Mine says I'm supposed to have a protein shake for breakfast and a 200-calorie mid-morning snack but I'm thinking a 200-calorie breakfast sandwich and a protein shake as a snack sounds like it'd work better. Mine is more a "suggested outline."

January 2013 Sleevers?
- Walmart
My Wal-Mart has the New Whey protein shots with 42g protein 0 sugar for a good price. I bought a 6-pack for about $10 to stock up since my surgery is coming up pretty soon. I had one before and they're not bad, but I think I'm going to break them up into 2 servings because I was told the body can only really process 30g at a time.- No alcohol ever?
I was told by my NUT that after surgery I'll feel the effects of alcohol quicker. I asked if it effects the blood/alcohol level and she had no idea. Just seemed odd to think you may feel wasted after half a drink but still be way under the legal limit to drive!- January 2013 Sleevers?
Getting so close! Here's to starting the new year out right! - Walmart
