  1. Great MsQue/30, you will do great! Just remember to sip sip sip and walk every chance you get, I promise it will make you feel better!
  2. Hi Grammy, let me tell you I know just how you feel, I'm 47 and I have been overweight all my life, with 4 sisters who are all slim and trim which only made it worse, I kept gaining weight until I was at 334 lbs, and even at 5'11" it still was unbelievable just how big I had let myself get. My knees hurt so bad every day, I was put on blood pressure meds and heart meds, my feet swelled every day, my back pain was constant, I couldnt even get a good nights sleep cause i kept wakeing myself up cause i couldnt breathe! I hated how I looked! Fast forward to 5 weeks ago when I was sleeved, no more swelling or pain anywhere! I'm off of all meds already and I'm down 52 lbs, I have finally slept all night the last week or so, this is the best decision I have ever made for my health!
  3. Way to go Biggiesmalz! Glad you are doing good!
  4. Whooo Hoooo! I'm so excited for you! Soon you will be a big loser just like the rest of us!
  5. Hey Karen, I am 5 weeks post-op and I to miss my food, especially Red Lobster Chicken Alfredo, but you know what, I don't miss the 52 lbs that I've lost! Just remember, there is no food that tastes as good as being thin and healthy feels!
  6. Welcome to the family! You will love this site, everyone is so helpful and no question is ever stupid, so ask away! I'm so excited for you, I remember sitting in my first seminar and talking to a lady that just had her 2 yr anniversary of her surgery and she had lost 200 lbs, man I wanted my surgery that day! I had my first consult 1week later and my surgery 2 weeks after that, I was a cash patient and you don't have to jump thru as many hoops as you do with insurance. I'm now 5 weeks post-op and I'm down 52 lbs, best decision ever!
  7. Im so excited for you all! This is the best decision you could ever make for yourself, I know from experience, I'm 5 weeks post op and down 52 lbs! Be sure to let everyone know how you are doing, we are all pulling for you to have a speedy recovery!

  9. Good luck to everybody! I pray that God will bless you all today with a speedy recovery! Welcome to the club!
  10. When you weigh 334 lbs sex is not fun, it is a job and one that would wear me out! I am looking forward to making up for lost time with my wonderful husband, he has stuck by me when I didn't want him to touch me because I was embarrassed of how big I was, I have told him that I hope I wear him out wanting sex more now and he said "Honey, you just go right ahead and try".
  11. My Dr has had me on liquids for almost 6 weeks, so I have really forgotten what it is like to eat real food.
  12. Wow what a difference! And yes I agree, Hot Hot Hot!
  13. I don't know about everyone else but I'm going to be really nervous to eat real food again, I could just live off of liquids myself cause I'm 5 weeks out and I have not had any hunger pains or cravings of any kind.
  14. Thanks! I love how everyone on this site is so supportive, it makes the journey that much better!
  15. My fantasy is that me and my wonderful husband of 32 years could be dropped of on a deserted island for about a month and live off of nothing but love, kinda like the Blue Lagoon, only no baby!
  16. Thanks! I can promise you it is the best decision you will ever make for your health!
  17. I will be 5 weeks post op tomorrow and I tried sleeping on my side after a week and a half, I turned over a little to far and popped a stitch inside by my belly button, I was in so much pain and it has taken me another 2 weeks to start feeling good again. I hate sleeping on my back but I think that is how I will be sleeping for the next six months, I'm not taking any chances!
  18. This photo was on May 31, two weeks before surgery Transformaion_AmyDownsPagelayout.pdf This picture was made today, July 22, 52 lbs gone forever!!! It has been a rough 5 weeks but when I look at myself now I just want to cry, I'm so proud I did this for myself and my loved ones.
  19. I had my surgery on 6/18 and I was so scared right up to when they wheeled me into surgery, I was so scared that I would die! I think that is normal for anyone to have a fear of not waking up from surgery, but once I woke up it was on, I jumped in 100% and have done everything my dr. has told me to, and I'm down 36 lbs ( including 20 lbs post-op). I am so excited about my new life. There is not any food that I am gonna miss so much that I regret having this surgery!
  20. I am 12 days post op and the pain in my side is the only thing that is really getting on my nerves, I can't do anything without it pulling, so I am looking forward to the day when I will not feel it.
  21. Hi LesKra, boy do I know just how u feel, I also had my surgery on June 18th and went back for my one week ck up yesterday, I told the dr that my calves were cramping when I walked a long way and he said he was worried that I had a blod clot! Of course I broke down in tears and was sent to the hospital to do a lower extremity Doppler scan, it was the longest 10 minutes of my life! Thank God it was negative, but it was scarey! I hope you are doing ok now and you are back on your feet soon!
  22. I am one week post op and NO MAM do I feel like traveling! Everyone is different, but there is no way I would have even gotten in a car. But I bet u will do just fine, just don't let your pain meds wear off. BTW I am down 30 lbs since June 1st, that's when I started the liquid diet, my surgery was June 18th.
  23. I got home from the hospital last night around 7, today I have been walking and sippin, the pain is unbearable if you let the pain meds wear off. My husband, who is the greatest man on earth has been taking great care of me, he's waiting on me hand and foot! I am so glad I took this step to better my life!
  24. Well todays the first day of my new life, on my way to the hospital. I'm very nervous but I know this is the best decision that I could make for myself! I can't wait to join you guys on the losers bench!
