"worst Decision I Have Ever Made Update"
Thrilled you are okay mary...I was worried about you! I am back in hospital again too. Fainted due to low potassium and iron. CT scan showed an abscess. Back on clear liquids so nausea is better...not hungry at all. Hope to go home early next week. Im 6 weeks out...was so hoping to be more advanced with my diet. Just don't want a feeding tube...that was something my surgeon said she might consider if I can't get in solids....that was scary. Got to overcome this! Good luck Mary! X

What Vitamins/supplements Do You Take (Brands/types?)
My Surgeon told me to take Procare bariatric vitamin once a day(easy to order online for $12.00/30day supply), it seems to go down fine considering most HBP pills I take can make me nauseous also I take calcium & Iron from local pharmacy. Im looking into finding a cheaper alternative though!

Not Sure What Is Okay To Post
Thank you for the advice Lissa, what I posted was not due to my feelings being hurt but not knowing what is acceptable since the rants were from folks who have been here awhile.. NO "sugar coating or head patting with Im perfect" wanted or needed....I was in the military as well as combat....Nothing can hurt me after that experience. Thanks to the others for the posts and great advice!

Not Sure What Is Okay To Post
Pookie & Dorrie, thank you for your kinds words...it made me tear up...I feel quite alone with this. My family try to help but they only know the information side....living it is SO far different! I found another forum but the posters dont post too often. So here I am. I have been feeling really dizzy lately & fainted twice so my family Dr. did tests and they just called to say I have too high blood pressure, hypoglicemia and low potassium...when i said what do I do she said eat more calories...I said I can't as I throw up if I eat more than 3 bites...she said call my Surgeon. I have left messages and my surgeon office has yet to call me back. I worry I have messed up my body with this surgery. I jsut want to be normal whatever the hell that is!

Not Sure What Is Okay To Post
I see online forums as a place where topics & conversations are ongoing...fresh & timely. If I want just impersonal information I will google it. I felt coming here was for support as well as learning medium. Since reading the rants I now talk mysef out of posting things because I dont want anyone to roll there eyes or mock what I post because what's new for me is possibly old rehashed news to a sleever who is a year or more out. Perhaps there should be 2 forums one for superior/experienced sleevers and one for people like myself called slow/nonexperienced sleevers as Im only 5 weeks out and have lots of questions/ponders for other like sleevers...if they don't mind helping that is. I'm not talking about why I should not eat 64 oz steak & loaded baked potato 24 hours after surgery...I figured that would be plain silly & painful!

Scared Of Operation
I had worries about surgery too...An amazing thing happened the morning of my surgery April 24th...I was in the holding room just before surgery, really very anxious. When I noticed the tiny room filling up, each person introduced themselves, my nurses, my anesthesiologist, the surg techs, the 2 new surgeons helping my surgeon, a paramedic that was there to observe(since I was a paramedic toowe had a laugh)...all wanted to reassure me that they were going to take great care of me and not to worry...omgoodness I was so overwhelmed by their words and touch! They told me they were about to give me versed to relax me...off I went, next thing I know I'm in recovery with some more wonderful nurses asking me what I needed for pain etc...could not ask for more than I received. Great hosptial and staff...they care! Im sure that is the case with most hopsitals! Try to relax

What An Emotional Roller Coaster
I too can completely understand your feelings... had issues with hemmoraging, eating, vomiting etc...4 weeks out and I am just seeing the light at the end of the tunnel...eating/drinking is getting easier, able to help around the house and best of all I am seeing results in the mirror...I wore size 16 jeans yesterday that had hung in my closet with the tags unworn for 4 years when my dear husband ordered me a pair I used to love...they weren't even tight!! I cried in the bathroom and it reminded me...above all these wonderful things most important is I am getting healthier and will be here longer for my family..Lord willing. Hugs to you dearest...you will start seeing little momenteous results here and there! Keep the Faith! x

Something Strange!
This is a little odd...but a few weeks after surgery I noticed something on my lower surgical incision looked to have a piece of glue that was not washing off. I kind of blew it off & figured I needed to scrub that area better. Today after close insepection I see it actually surgical suture string with a knot in the end hanging out of the area I was told was glued. So this is actually a suture from the internal sutures. I pulled on it a tad and it hurt like crazy and bled alot. I hate to go back to the Dr again...but wonder if it might be a source of entry for bacteria. Which I know can quickly be bad. Any one else heard of this? x

Sounds silly reading that but its a start...keep your faith and never be afraid to tell your Dr...hey I dont feel right! xo

Caloric Intake Is It Too Low
Hello! I too am only getting 500 or less calories...my nutritionist says keep up on the protein shakes as well as intrducing new proteins everyday..trying to keep 2 oz of it each setting. They dont seem worried, but I wonder if I am losing muscle too with such low intake. Also you and I are nearly exact on start weight and loss...my VSG was April 24, 12! Good luck hon!
