Cathy, I am a type 1 diabetic and my weight loss was good at first but I've been at a stall for a while. My doctor told me that my weight loss would not be as fast because of the diabetes.

I'm from Rocky Mount. Had surgery in July 2012 with Dr. Naziri.

I have never experienced dumping. I still eat hard candy for lows. I have a lot of low blood sugars now. Like down in the 30's. They are trying to regulate my insulin now but it takes time to get me on the correct amounts. But I sure do feel awful when I have low blood sugar.

I'm type 1 and although the surgery doesn't cure the diabetes ....I require alot less insulin and my A1c was 6.0 at my 4 month mark. I was well over a 10 or 11 before surgery. Just work hard to make sure your blood sugar levels are as low as possible before the surgery. Mine were not controlled and I went into ketoacidosis after the surgery. It should get much better. I am type 1 and while I'll always be on insulin....it has definitely helped my blood sugar stay in control. That never happened prior to surgery!

I took two weeks off and did fine. Just a little tired at first.

I'm not sure of the sugar content but I think one container has 8 carbs and 12 proteins.
