  1. LeslieLee- where are you having the surgery done and where are you from? Susan
  2. I ask because I am thinking of starting next Monday. I am only due to start on the 21st, but frankly I am out of control!!:help: This weekend my daughter will be away seeing her Dad and so DH and I will have an evening out and then a little romance. Seems like a good time to start, a new beginning. What do you guys think?? Susan
  3. Just called my GP to tell her I decided to go ahead with the surgery. I had discussed it with her and she was noncomittal at the time. I also had blood work done when I saw her (in February) and told her not to call me with the results because I did not want to know. When I spoke to her this morning, she told me she was fully supportive and thought it was a good investment in my future. She told me that my sugars were awful but since I did not want to know she didn't call. I knew that of course. I feel good that she is behind me on this and told her I would call her after surgery to let her know how I am doing. Further proof that I am doing the right thing!
  4. Hi Green! I am one of the newbies. Merci! Susan
  5. so I just talked with my doctor and he suggested that since I take 3 of these timed release capsules at one time, that I break them open and take 1, 3 times a day. He said to call him if there are any problems, but that should work. Thanks for your suggestions
  6. Ohhh! I am so excited:D Another step on my journey. I have my pre-op seminar tonight. I have a long list of questions that I want answered and hope to meet some nice people. What should I expect? What was your seminar like? Susan
  7. Hi Leslielee, It's fun to have your own thread isn't it? I use mine like a journal and post my thoughts. I love when people respond, because you are right - they always make me feel better. Susan
  8. Thanks. I'll talk to the pharmacist today. Susan
  9. :help: I take a medication that is time released in a capsule so cannot be sprinkled. I was told that my meds have to be crushed for the first month. Has anyone else had this problem? What did you do? Thanks, Susan

  11. Since I was a child, I have HATED throwing up. :sick We're talking hysterical crying, not being able to catch my breath etc. I would make an awful bulimic. I am hoping with my fear of vomiting, that I will be a compliant bandster, in order to lessen that effect. Musings....
  12. So sorry to hear about your ordeal. Congraulations on the pregnancy and I wish you the best of luck. Susan
  13. Not much longer now - just till the end of the week. Hang in there - you are doing fabulous. Susan
  14. When is your next fill Andrew?
  15. Yoda - you got. Not too normal am I.
  16. Bandiva - that is a great NSV! You will break through that mental block for sure. Susan
  17. So since I booked my surgery I have been on the condemned prisoner diet. You know - the one where you eat like it's your last meal??? I have been giving into ALL my cravings (and have gained 7 lbs as a result). Last night I craved.....BROCCOLI and today.....A salad :faint: Help me - is this normal???:help: :heh:
  18. Ahh peace for you. I have a 9 year old so I can't remember that last time we saw adult movies - if you into the G rated ones...we say Firehouse dog - which was adorable and great for both kids and adults; and Are We Done yet - which sucked for both kids and adults. We are having a night out this coming Saturday - any movie suggestions?
  19. I was sondering about popcorn... We went to 2 movies this weekend and I really like movie popcorn! Does that go down? how is Mr. Yoda today - is he getting nervous?
  20. Thanks Susie. I was thinking of going just to the seminars during the day, but skipping the dinner.
  21. Can I register at the door? Just not sure how I will be feeling, I am being banded on May 2. Susan
  22. Yoda I was waiting for your reply. (Pretty tame, this one) :heh: :canada:
  23. Last night I was watching Gene Simmons Family Jewels with DH and they were showing very graphic details of his and Shannon's face lifts. OMG! I looked at DH and asked him if I was crazy! "What's so bad about being fat?", I asked. "Do I really want to go through surgery?" Well the answer is yes. Fat is bad for me. Diabetes, High blood pressure, risk of heart attack and stroke.....No I am not crazy, I am finally taking control of this disease of obesity and overeating that has plagued me all of my life. I have one foot in bandland and can't wait to jump in wholeheartedly! Susan
  24. I am so close now that I can almost taste that cottage cheese and yogurt! :hungry: Today is grocery shopping day and this is the last week that I will NOT buy cottage cheese and yogurt so as to save those foods for the preop. I committed to join a 4 week walking challenge at work starting Monday. Everyone wears a pedometer and has to walk 10K steps every day (not including treadmill). If you don't mnake your 10K you have to throw $1 into the pot. At the end of the 4 weeks whoever has the most steps will win the pot. Since My surgery is the 2nd I am sure to throw money in, but I thought it was a good way to get me up an moving even before the band. What do you guys do to exercise? Susan
