  1. My doctor was very supportive as well. I will be her first with the band and she has asked me to keep in touch so that she knows how I am doing. I will bring her some brochures the next time I See her. Susan
  2. Addicted me - you are brave. Thank you for sharing. Susan
  3. Thanks but I think I need to resize that photo!
  4. He is adorable! We just got a Japanese Chin in February. Kayko is now 8 months old and adorable. Here she is with my daughter Lilyan. Hold on having trouble uploading.... to be continued
  5. Then this is a great time in your life to be doing this. I know there are lots of people in my situation - I just have to make it a priority. The nice things is as the weather gets better here in Toronto (Canada), we will get out our bikes and go for rides together. What kind of dog is Buddy?
  6. I ave to say that finding the time is one of the biggest challenges. Dh, 9 year old daughter, dog & cat and they all rely on me! Is it similar for you?
  7. Thank goodness! For a moment I thought I was going to have give up my coffee - black and strong! No way no how!!!:clap2:
  8. That's fabulous. I worked out 5 days a week last year when I was losing weight. I will definitely try my best this time.
  9. Well, protein is important but look how well you are doing!!!!! 5 lbs to Onderland!!! you rock. So do you exercise now? what do you do?
  10. Donna, what I found out from talking to so many people - is that everyone does this! Someone at TLBC told me they gained 10 kilos the month before their surgery! Good luck. Susan
  11. Yeah I wonder about that too. I am not a very good chewer and I have tried "practising", but then get bored of it and give up! Also, I find when you have to chew so much, the food loses its taste. Susan
  12. Hey Sheila, I'm doing that too! I start the pre-op on Monday. I think it serves its purpose because I am getting so sick of all these sugary, fat laden foods! BTW - you are doing great! Susan
  13. Or were you too weak and tired???:faint: Inquiring minds want to know... Susan
  14. Rocko, that is an incredible story. You must let us know how this is coming along for you. All the best, Susan
  15. Melissa you are very brave. It is so unfortunate that your doctor is not supportive, but by posting I do think you are reaching out for help. Please do go and get it. As other posters have said through AA or counselling. You have to be proud of yourself and what you have accomplished. You are going through a very stressful time and it is not surprising you have fallen into a pit. Reach up your hand, and there will be many to help you climb out. YOU took the step to deal with food by being banded and YOU can find the help you need to deal with drinking and your emotions. I wish you the best and hope you continue to post here and let us know how you are doing. We care. Susan
  16. Do you think he could give some private lessons to my DH? When we moved in with him his stove and oven were spotless!!! :heh: He only either ate out or frozen food that could be cooked in the microwave! When we were dating I gave him a cookbook and some utensils for his birthday. They too did not get used until I came along. My mistake was spoiling him completely. Not only do I cook (and very well, I might add), but I make his lunches for work. I AM AN ENABLER!!!
  17. Welcome and good luck with your surgery Susan
  18. Thanks. I am really determined to give this my all.
  19. Did you find it difficult to still cook for your loved ones? I have a DH who is hopeless in the kitchen and a 9 year old daughter who has to eat. Did you find it difficult to do? Susan
  20. Yes, I start my preop on Monday so this will be THE weekend. Starting tonight with Pizza hut pizza.
  21. Well I'll let you know - because I start mine on Monday! Susan
  22. I'm not so sure that the diet is setting someone up for failure, since many who have been on this pre-op have been very successful. I would encourage anyone who has been asked to do this and has concerns with their ability to follow through, speak with their doctors for alternatives. Susan
  23. Check the website address that I gave out in my original post - they have a schedule on there. Susan
