Actually. I went through a pretty long stall a while back. Before the stall I lost one frustrating pound a week. It was consistent, but it wasn't anymore than 1 pound. The stall broke, and I started losing 2 lbs a week. I stalled again just recently but have broken out again with a 2lb loss. I can't figure this old body out at all.

tomato pie got a reaction from brandnew in 3 weeks out eating about 1200 cal/day
See now, my surgeon and dietician's line of thinking seems to be opposite of what others have posted here. Mine told me to get to 1000-1200 as soon as possible. I am 3.5 months post op but those caloric guidelines were made very clear to me at my 1 week check up.

Hi , I buy Fage plain greek yogurt ( 20 grams Protein per container) and mix a fruit flavored greek yogurt usually about 14-16 grams of protein. Do that just twice a day and you will almost hit your daily amount of protein. Also soy nuts taste great and one cup is about 36 grams of protein. salad with Beans of any kind, cottage cheese, cubed cheese, tofu. Read labels and experiment with different combinations. I was not a Protein Drink fan but there are flavorless protein powders you can add to anything . Good luck

I don't want to scare anyone but today I was in the worst pain of my life, it was worse than when I was in labor with my son I think it was the dry heaves that hurt me the most. All day long, nothing but pain. My poor husband, I was so mean to him. BUT something good happened... I told them the morphine wasn't working and they got me an order for Fentanyl and Toradol and I am feeling wonderful! It's after midnight right now and I finally felt well enough to get up and walk around the unit 4 times!! Oh and here's something I found odd - my surgeon gave me 2 pictures of my new stomach.

tomato pie reacted to sh1984 in Pcos Is A #@!$
Hi Everyone! I am new on here and I was really excited to see that there is something on here about PCOS. I was diagnosed with it about 4 1/2 yrs ago and it has been a journey that is very hmmm what should one say lets say interesting. I got married in 2007 and thought that there might me some fertility issues but I wasn't sure, and I wasn't really ready yet for a little one. So we waited a year then started trying. Well I went through all the tests and insurance wouldn't cover hardly anything. So I decided lets start adn try a cycle of the IUI. Well we were blessed on our very first try which is so rare that my doc was very impressed with herself. We were able to have a healthy little girl in Jan of 10. I did have some issues with blood pressure or preeclampsyia but made it to the end. She is now 2 1/2 and on accident we got pregnant again with no help in and had a healthy baby boy in May of this year. I have so many friends that struggle with PCOS and all that goes along with it. I am at 258 lbs and i am 5'7". I am going to be starting my amazing journey on August 14th. I truly believe that I started having all my problems after I did 3 rounds of the Depo shot when i was in my early 20's that for me is when all my problems started. It has been alot of ups and downs with everything. PCOS is xpensive and they really cannot tell you what causes it or what doesn't. It is a very frustating thing that way to many young women have. I just thought that I would share my story and hopefully it will help someone who is experiencing the ups and downs. I am starting this process of my children and for myself. I want to be able to run and play and feel good. I hope that my journey is everything that I am hoping it will be

I'm sorry I haven't been on these forums in forever!
I kept promising to come back here and post an update but I'm just so busy with my "new" life. I just can't believe how much things have changed.
It's been 1.5 years. A little over 170 lbs lost.
For the first time in my entire life, I'm in the "one-derland!" From 360 to 190 lbs. I can shop in trendy "normal" stores at the mall and no longer fit into the smaller sizes at some of the plus size stores I've grown attached to.
Started as a size 32-34 and now a size 12-14. I would be wearing mostly 10's were it not for all the loose skin that I have. Went to a lot of plastic surgeon consultations, and they say I am carrying about 8-12 lbs of excess skin. Don't let the fear of saggy skin scare you away from this surgery - i absolutely hate the way it looks but I hide it very well! Wearing things like Spanx, tights, and leotards (really pretty ones are available for cheap on amazon.com) help conceal the loose skin.
Some added benefits of weight loss were that size of my fingers and feet shrunk as well. I didn't realize I would have to buy new shoes! Not like that's a bad thing
I had a lot of extreme hair loss. It got so bad that I regretted doing the surgery for a while. 6-12 months post op was the worst. But I am recovering because it's gotten thicker, healthier, and people have been complimenting me on it again (my hair used to be my fashion statement when I was ashamed of my body).
It may be hard to hear this, but believe me when I say this is true: I no longer deal with facial hair. I remember desperately reading through the pcos-related forums before committing to this surgery and wondering if my hair problem would ever go away. It did, but it was a result of laser and not just weight loss alone. Make sure to follow-up with laser hair removal appointments (now I touch up every 3 months for $75). It barely hurts anymore and is just a quick 20 minute session. I started doing my chest as well, and got some great results. I really encourage anyone battling with this to visit a qualified dermatologist. You don't need to regulate your hormones to get the results I did.
My weight has been stable. No regain so far!
I haven't had my period in over 8 months, my doctor says that is due to the extreme weight loss. All my labwork, including pressure, pulse, cholesterol, insulin is better than average now. I do heavy strength training three times a week and cardio three times a week with one day off. I have built a lot of muscle and that really helps with the appearance of saggy skin.
    My advice:
-Don't fall back into the cycle of having sugar/fat/soda. I briefly slipped over the holidays and it took a tremendous amount of work/willpower to work my way back on track.
-Do both aerobic and anaerobic exercise.
-Get a good prenatal Multivitamin to make up for all the nutrients we may be lacking.
-For hairiness: laser hair removal and epilating became my best friends.
-Don't let the excess skin bother you or scare you out of doing the surgery.
I wish you all the best of luck, sending out a lot of love and support. Please message me if you have any specific questions, I am planning on checking back a lot more frequently!

I got denied 2 times since December and have fought them since May so I completely understand the way you feel. Cigna reps are idiots in my opinion. I was told sooooo many different things. I got my approval January 29th and I am getting sleeved on February 11th! Woot woot!!! Finally, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Good luck!
