  1. I'm tomorrow too (10am) and I feel like I'm on speed! lol I'm the most nervous about getting the IV...they can never get a vein and it hurts! Ready for the surgery and pain part to be over. SO excited to work on the new me!!!
  2. My surgery is TOMORROW!!! So much to do today. I can't believe it's FINALLY here. Equal parts nervous and excited...
  3. Only ONE more day, Oct. 15th-ers!!!!! I'm super excited and ready to get the surgery part over and done!
  4. Could it be the painkiller making you nauseous? For sine reason lemonade is a lifesaver for me when I'm feeling icky. Maybe you can try some of the Crystal Light lemonade in your Water. I hope you feel better!
  5. Monday (the 15th) is my day!! I was so emotional and distracted over the past week to 10 days and suddenly yesterday....peace. I now have a very calm center and am more sure than ever about my decision. I'm so looking forward to a good night's sleep and then I'm off to buy all the last minute things before surgery. I'll also have to get the house on order for the hubs and 3 little ones. I'm sending my other "next weekers" some Zen vibes!!
  6. No way I'd have it done outpatient!
  7. 3 more sleeps!!! I'm equal parts nervous & excited!
  8. Thanks everyone for a) making me feel slightly less crazy, and your sweet, comforting words! I am truly grateful for the people on this forum. Even the jerks as they helped me cement my decision by making me defend it! Thanks y'all!! <3
  9. I feel EXACTLY the same way!! Even though I had several visits with my fantastic nutritionist, I all of a sudden feel "lost" at 4 days until surgery! Just nerves and a bit of panic I guess.
  10. I'm not having 2nd thoughts at all. I just feel "amped up" and jittery and overly emotional. I've had surgery before (and even with my surgeon!) so it's not that either. Can't put my finger on it. Such a weird feeling! Helps to know I'm not alone though!
  11. I'm on the 15th as well!! No pre-op diet for me (thank goodness!) so I can't even blame the crazy on that. LOL
  12. Since May I've been jumping through Aetna's hoops & researching, reading and researching some more. I was so focused and confident (and lost 16 lbs. on my own!). Now surgery is only 4 days away & I'm an emotional mess!!! Crying at the drop of a hat, short-tempered and just all over the place!! I have no 2nd thoughts, so what is wrong with me?!?!
  13. Less than a week to go (6 days but who's counting?!) and I am wound up, y'all! I feel like I'm on fast forward. A healthy mixture of nerves and unbridled excitement, I suppose! Thank goodness my surgeon doesn't require a pre-op diet; I'd be hot mess for sure! Just planning on taking yoga pants and flip flops to the hospital on Monday, along with a hair brush, Chapstick and deodorant. Anything else?
  14. I'd catch on fire if I had to wear pantyhose! I don't even remember the last time I had a pair on. I didn't know anybody wore them anymore...I'm sorry you ladies have to wrestle with those evil things with a sore tummy!
  15. I'll miss donuts! I love them and not in a casual way; in a Homer Simpson "Mmmmm donuts!" kind if way. And they love me back...so much so that they stay attached to my behind! LOL I'll also miss red meat. I'm a Texas Girl and truly enjoy a great cut of beef cooked medium rare. And I'll miss my mom's red velvet cake. For me, I had to get to a place where I accepted that I may never be able to have the things I "love" post-surgery. I can't have some foods in moderation or just as a treat. I had to break up with some foods!
  16. I have surgery next Monday and I'm a hot mess rugby now! My biggest fear, aside from death or major complications of course, is that I'll be the one who fails. I wont lose weight, I won't win the battle with my food demons and I'll just be a fatty for the rest of my life. Then I'll have to live with the shame bc I told people about the surgery only to die young(ish) and leave my small children motherless. What if I don't lose weight?!?!
  17. So cool! Thanks for sharing!!
  18. I've only told a few close friends and my boss, but I'll blab to the world after surgery!!
  19. Holy crow, you lost ALL of your hair?
  20. OP, it took me three years to finally make this decision. Everyone has their own timetable and you'll reach the decision that's right for you. Congrats on facing your fear and re-booking your appointment! You rock!
  21. Next day?!? So jealous as I had to wait a tortuous THREE WEEKS! So awesome for you! CONGRATS!
  22. For those of you on cell phones, touch the right-facing arrow next to the topic name and scroll down a bit to see the attachments.
  23. Tomorrow is my pre-op appointment with my surgeon and then pre-op at the hospital...and I'm EXCITED! I'm such a weirdo. LOL
  24. I've decided to tell only a select few people before surgery (2weeks from today!!) but I'm a big blabber mouth and will tell everyone afterwards. LOL I'm not a particularly private person, and open book, so to speak. I'm keeping it on the DL right now mainly bc my mother always manages to make everything about her in any situation and I need to keep my mind and emotional energy focused on ME right now. Besides, she didn't tell us she was having a nose job!! HA!
