  1. I didn't mean to start anything mean! I hope no one thought so. Just a funny example of one of my pet peeves. That poor girl also told me that she'd, "cut somebody's throat" without her caffeine and cigarettes!
  2. And LOL on the ellipsis comment!! I'm A confessed over ellipsis user... ;D
  3. It's rant about a checker at my grocery store misusing a word!!! What's to "frown on"?
  4. Pacifically instead of specifically!!! GAH.
  5. Lately I've noticed an epidemic of sorts...people, even people who 'speak' for a living and should know better, are misusing the word literally. A girl checking me out at the grocery store said, "I literally died!" during our brief conversation. I wanted to gently correct her, but I didn't. I just inwardly cringed and gathered my things. I also can't stand the ridiculous overuse of "like" these days. What are your grammar pet peeves?
  6. OMG...this wait is making me CRAZY. I've called every day. I try to distract myself but it just doesn't work. I'm anxious and preoccupied, and frankly, a little irritable. The longer I wait, the crankier I am! I need some Xanax and a massage!
  7. I read the Aetna Clinical Policy Bulletin when I started my hoop jumping with them so I'd be sure of the requirements bc no one seemed to know it all! Google "Aetna CPB 0157" and that's the exact policy with regards to bariatric surgery. I printed a copy and carry the damn (highlighted) thing with me whenever I have an appt!! LOL
  8. Not surgery gas, but intestinal gas. A co-worker (no WLS!) swears that your gas is worse forever after surgery and it's, not to be gross but, stinkier. Please tell me this isn't true! I've heard that about bypass but not the sleeve. Say it ain't so!!
  9. I survived yesterday, but just barely! LOL I was definitely not on my A Game. I yawned about 6000 times yesterday and was SO goofy. I felt like I couldn't string together a sentence!!! BUT, I didn't really have a headache or feel bad physically. Yay! Confession: I had 1/2 of one this morning bc I have to conduct interviews today.
  10. Today was my first caffeine free day since probably high school! I was so sleepy and foggy headed. LOL
  11. How can it be that some people get approved on a day or two and I've been waiting 2 weeks?!
  12. Well...still pending. I have to admit I'm getting angry now instead of just impatient. And I'm feeling so jealous of all of the "I'm approved" posts. {SIGH}
  13. You look beautiful! Thanks do much for posting! I'm in that shockingly frustrating "insurance wait". Posts like yours keep be focused!
  14. I'm pre-sleeve; just trying desperately to change in anticipation of surgery. I've been doing well, but today is extra tough for some reason. Food is all I can't think about and I've stayed hungry all.day.long. BOO.
  15. I'm struggling with my eating today. I've made good choices (so far) but I'm STARVING. Not sure what's up, but I've felt hungry ALL day even though I've tried hard to keep something on my stomach. These are the days when I'd normally (secretly) drive through some fast food joint on my way home and have a "pre-dinner snack" to eat in my car. I'm fighting against that today. More Water, more water, more water...
  16. I'd like to buy one really great book to help keep me on the striaght and narrow (HA!) once I've been sleeved. I've tried Amazon and B&N, but there are so many choices! Any recommendations for a good, comprehensive book? Thanks!
  17. Jenn, I apologize for my post. I am not yet sleeved (shooting for 10/9) and I took your comments personally. I responded in the wrong mindset and shouldn't have called you out like that. I'm still new here, still going crazy waiting for insurance approval and am admittedly emotionally amped up. I guess I felt defensive bc I'm still struggling mightily not to eat poorly and too much. It's silly of me to getting my feelings hurt over something that was obviously not an attack on me! Again, I'm sorry if I made you feel bad. :/
  18. I'm glad you asked this, I was wondering, too!
  19. That stinks!! I can see how you'd be ready to strangle somebody. LOL Can you maybe go up there and try to see someone? I hope things go smoothly from here on out. <3
  20. I'm down to one (lovely, wonderful) Vanilla Coke Zero every morning! I knew caffeine was going to be difficult for me to break up with, so I started VERY slowly weaning after finding out from the NUT it had to go. I'll miss it!
  21. Another one, I will not miss my feet KILLING me after any kind of prolonged walking. I want to take kiddos to the zoo without feeling like my feet are going to explode or break! I also look forward to ditching all of my wide width, "comfortable" shoes for cuter ones!
