  1. Girl, how'd you get so far away from home?!?! I bet you haven't had a decent cup of coffee in forever!!
  2. I'm a little less than 2 weeks post-op and I drank a couple of sips of pickle juice. Crazy, I know, but I LOVE, LOOOOVE pickles and miss them terribly.
  3. OMG, this post literally made me laugh so hard my side hurts!
  4. It's SO strange for me to not "go" every day!
  5. 2 weeks full liquids, 2 weeks puréed, 4 weeks soft foods.
  6. I'm a little worried about myself today. I've been very nauseated and have been able to get in only one bottle if Water (16.9 oz) and one Protein shake (8 oz) bc of it. I feel exhausted and slept most of the day. All of this is new as I was feeling pretty good since surgery and have been getting in all of my fluids and protein. I feel drained and my large incision is once again really painful. No fever or shoulder pain. Anyone else?
  7. I have a desk job, but a long commute (about an hour and 15 minutes) and I THOUGHT I only needed a week. I was wrong!! I am in my 2nd week and I NEED this week off. I'm still really tired and getting my water and protein in takes focus. I know if I was at work this week, I would be distracted and not get enough of either. And, YES, stay in the hospital!!! This is not an outpatient surgery!! Complications can be fatal.
  8. Slowly you MUST get up and move. Don't overdo it, but 10 minutes of every hour should be moving around. No more bed or sleep unless you're going down for the night. Fight for it!!
  9. Now that it's over and done, I have no problem telling EVERYONE! lol I told only a select few pre-op, not even my parents. However, since surgery, EVERYONE I've told (including my parents) has been congratulatory and excited for me. It's been a nice surprise! For me, having people know about my WLS keeps me accountable!
  10. Two nights ago, I had a crying jag and I've been WAY overly emotional since surgery. I chalk it up to anesthesia, pain meds, recovery itself, spending so much time alone and the mind f*#k that this whole process it. It's painful and emotionally stressful. I have no real advice. I just wanted you to know that you're not alone. {{{HUGS}}}
  11. I told my girlfriend yesterday that if I EVER hear someone say that this surgery is fat people's easy way out, I WILL pinch them in the throat!
  12. I'm only a week and a half out, but I'm cranky, too! I'm pretty sure it's bc I'm tired and hungry, and this is stressful, relearning how to fuel my body and to use food in an appropriate way. Don't be too hard on yourself. It's a major surgery and a huge life change.
  13. Yesterday was pretty good for me, but I, too, felt full all day and didn't get my Water and Protein in. I'm feeling crappy today. My large incision is bothering me, burning and sore. I'm feeling just blah and tired. I guess I won't get my energy back until next week when I'm on real food...puréed but real food! This is hard. And no one in my "real life" truly understands what I'm going through. Thank goodness I have this forum!
  14. Muscle Milk makes me gag! lol I'm using ENS from Celebrate with the vitamin, calcium and B12 in it. You really just have to try a variety of brands and flavors!
  15. I'm a week and one day out and when I opened my eyes in recovery I was horribly nauseated. I was literally begging the nurse to help me! I stayed nauseated for the first 4 days, but oral Phenergan finally helped me the most. I have episodes once or twice a day of mild nausea, but I do best when I keep something on my stomach.
  16. Y'all sure are quiet today!!
  17. I can have non-citrus fruit next week (week 3) puréed. Citrus fruits after 8 weeks. I can't wait for applesauce next week!! And pears!!
