Thanks! I don't feel so alone or a failure! Even though we're doing everything right you still feel that's its your fault! I will increase the carbs a bit! Hope this breaks soon! Although I really can't complain. I've lost 87 pounds & feel great...

I gain all of the time. Just less than I lose.
If you saw a weight loss chart by days, it would zig zag up and down, up and down in a gradual decline over time.
    Nothing unusual.

I gain and lose 2-4 pounds all the time. It's like waves coming and going. If I go up 5-10 pounds in a short period I get concerned. So far it has not happened.
Many factors: exercise, sodium/potassium levels, Water consumption, stress, phase of the moon, (ok, not the phase of the moon, that has more to do with beard growth ), contribute to the scale report.
The scale is a superficial observer, never delving into the heart, probably like many of the slime guys you ladies have known.

That's great. I really hope this helps! Can I also suggest that if a new post is posted in the incorrect category that it be moved to correct category with a note like "Your post has been moved to "????" category.
    Thanks!

I would love to see a tab at the very top of the page where we have Forum, Community, Photos. And have a tab that is labeled "frequent questions' and in the pull down menu: stalls, Hair loss, Vitamin ideas, Protein Shake debate. I don't know if this will help. Or if there is a tab for frequent questions and then it pulls up a search where you can enter your question easier and get answers faster from previous posts? But you kind of have that already. hmmmmm.
    Somehow it is getting missed.
Thanks! And I am looking forward to the new version of VST!

COnative, you must have been reading my mind. It would also be nice to add to that Hospital/Airport "Shoutouts" and "I at the wrong THING!" This may help.

We're launching the next iteration of VST in about 1-3 months. This idea was discussed previously but never went anywhere. I'd love to add this to the new site. How do you gals suggest we go about this ?

It would be nice if a FAQ thread could be highlighted in RED and listed at the top of the FORUM page that is alway viewable. This might reduce daily multiple repeated questions and help new and old members search common questions and topics.

Here's a great link for the best Vitamins on the market right now. Good luck. It took me a really long time to find one that doesn't make me feel sick. http://www.multivitaminguide.org/full-ranking.html
I personally take Xtend-Life and haven't had any trouble. I know Metagenics makes a multi without Iron but not sure about other brands.

I smoked marijuana almost immediately after because it was the only thing that would help with the nausea. It was a life saver for me.
Exercise- I started on the treadmill or the elliptical a week after just for 15 minutes and gradually built up as I felt better. One month out I started doing any and all exercises.
Alcohol- I started drinking wine again about two months out. Haven't had any trouble.
coffee and Tea- I pretty much started on those as soon as I could eat regular food and was off my liquid phases.
I think I am not a very good example but thought I would honestly answer your questions. Hope this helps.

I have been in and out all day resting and groggy. Had about five different meds put in iv two pain kinds, one for nausea ect. the nurses mostly speak spanish and know a few works but jessica and jesus are english one works day/ one nights. the hosptial is dated but sufficent and i am comfortable. The iv was quick, the sleep dr had me comfortable before i left the room and i remember nothing until waking up in my room in a bit of pain since then they have given me somthing every 3-4 hours. I used a bed pain at first then was able to get to the bathroom on my own. Dr alvarez did call my husband after surgery to let him know i was ok, i was to tired to make a call.I have been awake all night but they said they prefer that first night to be like that so we can tell them how we are feeling. tommorrow they will give me sleep meds. I am very please so far, bored. There are some english channels on the tv. I havent walk much yet this will be my focus today I havent had a lot of gas though. I will get ice chios today and have only Water to wash my mouth out with and spit. I think im on iv bag 3 or 4 for fluids and I do not feel really hungry. Im excited about the ice chips though. Dr rosales dr alvarez assistant did come in and check on me as well as alvarez. I guess they came after surgery but I was out of it. The nurses take vitals every few hours. Other then that the free internet was easy to use and the holiday inn express was clean. Rosie is very down to earth and had a nice drive with her and everyone else is very approachable and helpful if you need it. I will be walking today as much a s possible. I just got Fluid bag four...so far I am very good and I will share the rest of the story later when i get home. I hope everyone is doing well...So happy to be on the post side! Take Care

Learn to cook... its not that hard. Most WLS recipes I have used are pretty easy to follow.
For instance today I am eating...
5am Breakfast- oatmeal + Torani banana Syrup
    7am pre workout Protein shake
    9am post workout Protein Shake
10am Brunch- 2 scrabled eggs + 2 pieces of turkey bacon
    12pm Snack-beef jerkey
2:30pm Late lunch- 4oz grilled chicken + honey garlic sauce + asparagus
    6:30pm Dinner- 4oz steak + veggies
About an hour or two before bed I might have a late night snack which is usually a hard boiled egg or beef Jerky.
Everything I listed above is very easy to prepare. The above is usually what I eat daily and just mix up the Proteins between steaks, chicken, pork, tuna and salmon. I usually change up the marinades and seasonings of the Proteins too.
But like I said most of the weight loss recipes I have founds online are pretty easy to follow and I am no cook. I actually made a pretty awesome pizza last week from scratch.
Here are some links to check out... recipes look pretty straight forward and easy.

There are plenty of physiological reasons why losing it "on your own" doesn't work very well. The fact that you did it so many times makes it harder....your metabolism was probably shot. Either way, the so called "risks" of WLS are negligible compared to the risks of staying obese, even for the average obese person. Someone in your shoes...even more so. You are definitely doing the right thing. Of all WLS's I believe the sleeve has the best ratio of high success/low complications. So really, you're odds are very high of success. I'm always a PM away for questions or moral support. Good luck and I love your shirt...I have the matching shorts. That's how I got my name.

Thanks for sharing all of that! I never had anything life threatening but knew I didn't want to live anymore because I was so disgusted with the way I looked and was embarrassed to go anywhere.
I got all the same responses.......why don't you just lose it on your own, you've done it before.... If only it were that easy- I WOULD have kept it off. I took it off and put it on 5 times.
I am happy to hear that you are getting the sleeve. I think you are going to be overjoyed with the results. I am 7 months out and I have to admit it's not without effort (to keep losing) BUT there is NO WAY I can consume the food I used to. IMPOSSIBLE! And now I can go out without hiding behind my husband.
I am happy you are alive and looking forward to hearing about your progress. All the best to you!

LOL. It's a little alarming when you know its coming (THE SNEEZE) and it's an added bonus if you are a multiple offender! It felt like a little earthquake in my tummy when I would sneeze. Luckily enough you heal so fast that those days are almost gone! Have you experienced hiccups yet? That's another special (being sarcastic) experience when you get them. But these days are shortly lived.
Best of luck with your continued recovery!!!

194 this morning! Highest weight was 307, day of surgery was 192! I went from size tight 24's to 11/12 jeans and M/L tops! I am loving life! I eat normal, have never thrown up or felt bad! I did lose some hair - but the new growth I have now is amazing - and honestly, the thinning of the hair would never have stopped me from having this life changing surgery!
I love crossing my legs, having men rush ahead to open doors, my husband wrapping one arm all the way around me, shopping any where I want, fitting in chairs - all chairs - easily and not worrying if they can hold me! I love that food does not control me - I make my choices! I love that I can have a cupcake at a birthday party, and not feel like I have derailed all my efforts (or get sick!). I love how full I feel after a healthy meal of Protein and some veggies. I love that I DON'T want to eat 3 cups of pasta!
If you are on the fence about this surgery - I say go for it! Like so many others - my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner! If you have any questions - this forum is amazing - but I also know it's nice to talk to a person! I have met several freinds on here - please feel free to email me! ssmonte72@yahoo.com
    Best of luck to you!
