The best thing is that my face lost most of the weight already, so when I look in the mirror, I see the person I expect rather than the round faced one that has been staring back for the last few years.

Yes, me too! It is the oddest thing. Things smell different, not better or worse, just different.
I was sleeved June 14th, down 18.5 pounds.

I started my plans at a bmi of 32 also. By the time I went into surgery it was closer to 30. I am only 18 days out, but I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Well, around these parts, forgive us for all being partial to the vertical sleeve. It is a vertical sleeve forum and all. I wish you the best with your surgery and I hope you find support here no matter what type you get!

I do feel guilty sometimes, but I'll get over it, I guess. I also do what traceyinflorida does, I tip extra - as though I have ordered a meal.

You will do great - good luck! Don't be shy about asking for pain meds tonight. Ask for the one they shoot in your upper arm not the iv if you are in pain. That's what I needed, but only the one time. Really had minimal pain after that. Never even took my pills after leaving the hospital.

I am sitting here waiting for my surgery by Dr Kelly. In about three hour I will be sleeved. My husband came with me and Omar just took him to see the area (markets, 7eleven coffee places). Just wishing it was over already.

I melted in Laughing Cow wedges into runny mashed potatoes at that stage. But I like someone's suggestion of ricotta - that sounds good.

Everyone I know is used to my crazy dieting. Last year, I did 12 weeks of a liquid diet, so me doing liquids now post op is not raising eyebrows. The only thing that will raise eyebrows is that it is finally working.

Try tea. Sometimes, especially in the beginning, it is much easier to get in warmer liquids. That gas feeling will eventually go away, for me it was about 3 weeks. Walking is about the only thing to help with that. Peppermint or ginger tea are both really great for soothing tummies.

I am 5'4" and am shooting for 130. Although, I got to 140 a couple of years ago and was pretty happy with myself for the 5 minutes that I was at that weight.
