As of this morning, I am no longer in the mordidly obese category! I am now just obese. When I started my journey, my BMI was 55 now I am at 40!!!!!!. I still have a long way to go but I feel so good about this. (she says with tears streaming down her face).

Congratulations! This is an awesome accomplishment!

I am so sorry. This must be quite frustrating for you. I agree with Instyle98, you did nothing wrong. It is just one of those things. Keep your chin up and don't give up. You will be quite the inspiration to anyone else who may go through the same thing.

My church has a ministry called FaithFit. 18 months ago and 80 extra pounds ago, I attended the Step Aerobics class and truly felt like I was going to die. I could not do it for more than 15 minutes and seriously was afraid that I was going to have a heart attack. I attended just a couple of times before I knew it was not for me. Now that I am 80 lbs less, I thought I would join the Zumba class that was starting up for 12 weeks. Everyone said it would be fun and not to worry about looking ridiculous. Okee dokee. So....last night I went. It was NOT fun and I did look ridiculous! However, I see the potential for being fun and I will go back. The biggest achievement for me was that I moved for a solid hour. Not sure what I was doing but I was sweating and MOVING and I did it for a whole hour! I didn't feel like I needed to stop and catch my breath. Don't get me wrong, I wanted to stop a couple of times but I didn't.
Here is the one thing that really got to me. I was still the biggest girl in the room. I know it doesn't really matter but it is habit for me to look around the room to see if I am the biggest and I was. Ugh. I had all of these negative thoughts starting with "what's the use?". I felt an overwhelming urge to run out of the room because I thought I was going to burst into tears. I am better today and I know I just need to keep going. I will get there. For me, I am a true believer in the voice of truth (God) and not the deceiver (Satan). It was just a temporary thing that I let get to me. I have worked too hard to let one out of control thought get in my way of achieving my goals.

New Me!! Slimmer Me!! In Love!!! I Feel Like a 16 Years Old All Over Again!!!

Well folks......I had my first "stuck" episode on Monday night. Home by myself and absolutely my own fault. chicken and steamed cauliflower. I was eating too fast, bites were too big and I definitely was not chewing enough. I waited a minute for the uncomfortableness to pass but it didn't. So I stood up, hoping that would help it go down but nope. A PB and up it came, slime and all. I feel like a real bandster now! lol
Here is the positive in this experience. I wasn't scared because all of you have been so good in describing what happens and most of all on how to prevent it from happening again. Also, it made me know that I NEVER want to do that again so I will be more aware of the speed I am eating, this size of my bites and chewing, chewing, chewing. Definitely gross!

I had that happen. I ate then promptly left in the car to pick up my friend 2 miles away. Ate too fast and we were heading to the gym. All of a sudden it hit me like a ton of bricks and I didn't think I would get to her house fast enough. Embarrassing to get there and go flying in the door up the stairs to her bathroom. It's now a joke between us that I go to her house to throw up. Ah, the life of a bandster.

I had my fiirst PB the other day too. I took a pill whole that was a little to big and then made the mistake in trying to wash it down with more Water. My Dr told me to never do that, I didn't listen.
But like you, it was a learning experience. Not as bad as I imagined and if it happens while eating out, excuse myself quickly.lol

We all experience being on a "learning curve" as we adjust to our new way of life with our bands.
Another life lesson learned...
