Getting used to the new healthy way of living was key for me. I started having 2 Protein Shakes a day and slowly working myself off the bad foods. That way the pre and post op diet were a breeze because I already had shakes I liked and was use to having them daily. Also like they said, get comfortable with only drinking Water & crystal light. Get rid of all the sodas/ sweet tea/ caffeine now. I was a smoker that ate fast food for every meal and drank a TON of soda at work everyday. I needed that time to rid myself of all the bad habits I had. My surgery has been a breeze, I don't get cravings for bad foods or cigs because I invested the time before the surgery.

I too agree.
I will say when I was 23 I was living with a girlfriend and was ready to propose to her even though I had this weird sense of doubt. Turns out I packed up all my stuff and moved to the other side of the country (job offer). I have been here for two years and I have never been happier. Turns out my life with her in it was miserable and I just had blinders on.
Follow your heart. We're young and have too much life ahead of us to waste time now!

I'm 7 weeks out too! I'm always down for an Austin trip! If anyone can organize something fun I would cruze down.

I love Austin, I wish I lived there! I am greatly going to miss 6th St. with this whole no more drinking thing Halloween will never be the same without it!

Donny - as a guy who started balding in my early to mid 20's, I started with buzzing my hair down to a #2 or #4 clipper, then about 2 years ago - inspired by a coworker - I went all in and started shaving it off. I wish I'd done it sooner. The whiteness contrast will go away in a week or two. Starting in winter, you will notice a significant temperature difference; I was amazed the difference between bald and #2... crazy! The cold isn't an issue now.

I just got back from the gym and needed a Protein snack and here is what I came up with! I don't know anything about cooking or spices so im sure you can throw more stuff in (please advise if you think I can make it better!) I like spicy!
2 tbsp hummus
dash cumin
1 tbsp spicy brown mustard
1 whole egg
I thought it tasted really good and pretty similar to a deviled egg. This will definitely be a regular new food for me!

That's the only reason I did the surgery! All of my tests, cholesterol, sugar, blood pressure was all fine. I have never had a single medicine or Dr. tell me I should go on a medicine for and obesity related disease. I was just sick of being 26 and 385 lbs! I tried dieting and it never worked. I did this surgery 100% so I could look in the mirror and be happy, I wanted the attention from the pretty girls, I didn't want to be judged, and I wanted to wear designer clothes again. I did this surgery for every superficial reason in the book and not one health related reason. I worked out everyday before surgery, I would do 5mi on the elliptical and lift weights, but deep down I hated the guy in the mirror. Now I'm 7 weeks post op, never had a complication, feel amazing, and am starting to get the attention from ladies. So i guess what I'm trying to say is there is no wrong reason to get the surgery in my mind. I am the happiest I have been in years, I got a whole new level of confidence, and it is only going to keep getting better. Do the surgery, it's a life changer

Multi Vit, Vit D, calcium citrate, B12, and a PPI every day. Im cleared for pills, but I love my chewables lol! It's like little pieces of candy for me! I really like the taste of mine and continue to buy chewy's!

Donny, you look AMAZING! No wonder your getting attention from girls!! You did a total 180, I hope I'm as successful as you. I'm doing the surgery partially for health reasons but mostly superficial...I can't wait to be little again
Jessica, read everyone's stories on here...the risks are SO low and the results are wonderful. I'm so excited for my surgery date (19th) that I can barely sleep. I say go for it, avoid the future health problems and look sexy naked! Good luck!!

Damn you piss me off. I've been running for several months and I'm just now getting to that distance, and no where near that fast. I quit. I'm taking my ball and going home.

I bought a pair of nice Nike running shoes and then went to Walmart and bought the nice Dr. Scholls inserts. I have wide feet too, and my feet have shrunk a ton and now all of my shoes are stretched out and don't fit right so keep that in mind when shopping! The inserts I got were $50ish and I stood on a balance machine and it told me exactly which ones I should buy. I have been extremely happy with that combo. My knee and ankle pain is much better now!

It's me! I have found myself doing all sorts of health&beauty things since I had my surgery. I'm a 26 year old guy that in the last week has gone to the spa for manicure, pedicure, facial, and massage. I bought all sorts of fancy face scrubs. I had a lady friend fix my straggly eye brows. Spent a ton of money on a fancy electric tooth brush and whitening things. And go to the gym every day. What the heck happened to me!?!?!? I guess I'm feeling better and way more confident and decided I need all of this??? I never would have done all this pre op lol! I can't help but to laugh at myself.
