  1. A couple of observations......First, I was told by one surgeon that is someone has had several previous abdominal surgeries, the sleeve is the surgery of choice. I also felt better not having my intestions re-arranged. Second observation.......this is one of the reasons I have told only a couple of people I am having this surgery done.......'well meaning' advice & judgements I can do without!
  2. I have only told my kids (grown) and my boyfriend, and they have been very supportive.. I just didn't want to have a lot of questions and "advice" beforehand. Thant's just me. I didn't want people telling me what they had heard, or how could I di this? After, I will answer all the questions they want.
  3. Mine is on the 23rd of January, and like you, I haven't told many people. Maybe it is because deep down inside I am afraid of failure also..hummm. Mainly it is just because I don't want people all over me about it. My kids and boyfriend know, and that is what is important to me. Best of luck to everyone!!
  4. I have read that alot of pre-ops are told to do some sort of special diet for a time before their surgery date. Mine said nothing, except to try to lose as much weight as I can before the surgery (bearing in mind that this was 12/16 and my surgery date is 1/23...nothing like the holidays to spoin a good diet!). I have about 2 1/2 weeks until the big day and I am going to use the suggestions here and get used to some of the liquid protein drinks. Thanks for the info!
