  1. Thank you for sharing! I am in month 3 of my 6 month PCP visits and have been questioning if this is right for me (now I am thankful for the 6 months) and reading things like this mean I am headed in the right direction!
  2. My ob put me on Metformin... Have any of you been sleeved yet?
  3. Thank you both so much for this info!
  4. My ob/gyn told me yesterday she believes I have PCOS. I had 2 cysts removed in February but PCOS was not mentioned until yesterday. I Googled PCOS and it said that they are not sure of PCOS causes obesity or if obesity causes PCOS. I am wondering how many of you out there have this same problem and if surgery will help or hinder me.
  5. I'm so glad to hear that! It makes the decision to go through with surgery that much easier!
  6. I find myself extremely depressed right now. I'm in the process of the 6 month hoop jumping and still have 4 to go. I don't have to lose "x" amount of pounds before surgery so I have been eating anything I can get my hands on. I am looking so forward to surgery saving me that I've lost all self control. I need help!
  7. I haven't had surgery yet and I can't imagine what you're going through but remember why you're doing this! I know I will regret saying this but I cant wait to be on my pre op diet. You can do this!
  8. I have only begun the 6 months worth of appointments and I feel like I'm already backing out. I lost 75 pounds 2 1/2 years ago and have put it all back on over the last year. It scares me to think I'm going to lose 75% of my stomach and that I am going to be on a liquid diet for a long time. What was the deciding factor to go ahead with such a drastic surgery?
  9. Congratulations! And thank you for sharing.
  10. NW Georgia sleever here! I just started the process... looks like it will be October once appointments are finished and insurance is approved. Has anyone used Dr. J. Ryland Scott? I really like him, I don't know anyone who has had surgery done by him though.
  11. I know that I have to mentally prepare myself but the idea that if I eat a doughnut or too much food it will hurt, seems like a great thing to me! I need help with my habits and knowing surgery is a tool to help makes me even more anxious to get it done! I cant wait!
  12. I am obsessed with food. My day revolves around what time I'm going to lunch and eating dinner. And its not good food... its chips and chocolate covered pretzels and pizza and diet coke! I almost feel like this is more a mental problem than anything. Did any of you have food obsessions and did surgery help?
  13. I'm so sorry! I didnt mean to post this twice and now I can't find a delete button... does one exist?!
  14. I have only begun my 6 month journey but I find myself coming up with questions as time goes on. Anyone who has had the surgery or knows someone who has had surgery, is excess skin an issue? I am going to have surgery and lose weight no matter what but I am interested in knowing if anyone has an issue with extra skin.

  16. I have been telling friends that are not so close to me about my surgery in October. I was going to keep it quiet but everyone will figure it out when I'm out of work for 2 weeks and start eating much smaller portions as well as major weight loss. How have you all been handling telling people?
  17. Hi everyone! I love this forum; thank you to everyone who shares their stories. I have just begun the 6 month process... it sucks but I understand, I guess. I wondered why I have not been put on a diet to lose weight prior to surgery. I did my consultation and now I'm a bit confused about what comes next. I've been visiting my PCP but she doesn't know what to do other than fill out the form my surgeon's office provided. I have my appointment scheduled for the dietitian so now I'm playing the waiting game. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
