Amount Of Time Off Work?
I took 3 weeks off and then headed back to work.....I think 8 weeks will be sufficient unless your throwing one hundred pound sacks.

Why Is The Pain Getting Worse?
I'm happy to report that finally the pain and vomiting went away. Week 4 post op I finally felt good with no pain and some sense of normal. I really was thinking that I'd screwed up having the surgery but now that I'm 5 weeks out I feel good and think this is a good thing. I hope this finds the rest of you fellow sleevers getting better after surgery and look forward to reading about your progress.

I Finally Feel Normal Again....mostly
I am post op 4* weeks and this is the first time since surgery I've felt somewhat normal again. I have no problems drinking and soft foods (yogurt, pudding, soups) are a breeze. I'm attempting to eat diced chicken and turkey and my sleeve doesn't like the solid foods very much. I am keeping them down but my sleeve feels like it freaks out on solid foods. I get a pain and cramping within 2-3 minutes of me eating and my stomach feels like I have two dogs in there fighting over a bone. I suspect this is normal feeling and my stomach may still be sensitive to my earlier bouts with vomitting and the hives I had.

Craving Salt
I've found a drink of pickle juice helps my salt cravings. I'm not up to trying seaweed yet.

Not Keeping Anything Down.....back To The Dr. Again
They still don't know what the issue was but I'm finally better. I can eat and drink fine now and feel good. Have been battling hives (think was reaction to CATScan contrast). Otherwise I'm feeling well. I think my sleeve was either so irritated with me vomitting it just was not allowing anything in or I had a touch of a stomach virus. Anyway Thanks everyone for your support it really means alot to me. This site is wonderful and lets you know you are not alone going through this. Hugs to y'all.

Not Keeping Anything Down.....back To The Dr. Again
Well he has no idea why I feel like this, why I'm having pain, why I'm throwing up everything. Got a new Rx, upper GI scheduled for tomorrow and added another day of IVs. Somebody has to know what's going on, right?

Not Keeping Anything Down.....back To The Dr. Again
I'm now getting a bit scared. Yesterday I had the IV infusion to help get my fluids back up with some blood work and then a CATscan. Today I still have the pain on my left side and today I cannot keep anything down. Got the Diarrhea from the contrast fluid and I've gone all the way back to ice chips trying to combat the vomitting. I've now developed pain on the right side of my abdomen and if I vomit one more time I'm going to loose my mind. Appointment tomorrow to get another round of IV fluids and to see my surgeon again. I hate to say the "L" (leak) word but something is wrong. Anyone have any similar expierences?

Why Is The Pain Getting Worse?
So it is the next day after the test and the contrast they made me drink has given me diarrhea since yesterday. My side still hurts, I feel nauseous, all my liquids taste terrible and I've having trouble keeping them down. Tried a cracker thinking it would help settle my stomach....wrong vomitted again. I've skipped my vitamins because I know they will just add to the nausesa. Still trying to get some fluids in but not doing a good job of it. I've taken off work for the rest of the week thinking I just need to let my body heal that maybe i've been too active and not healing quick enough. As the day wears on I'm worried that this is it for the rest of my life? Really can I have made such a terrible decision that will grow to it being intolerable? Am I just being a whiny butt and need to shut up?

Why Is The Pain Getting Worse?
I got IV fluid infusion to bring my liquids back up. Said the CATSCAN showed the sleeve and small intestine looking as it should be and they could see all the incisions and all looked ok. Said they think it could be inflamation of the muscle caused by my vomiting. Going to try non narcotic pain pill, eat yogurt foods, and let them know how I'm doing in a couple of days.

Why Is The Pain Getting Worse?
Today I start my 3 weeks post op (Surg on 4/16) and this pain in my left side is gettng worse. I was fine until I vomited and it felt like something was tearing inside me. Initially thought it was pulled muscle but it is worse. To the ponit I cannot bend over or sleep on my sides. I'm not sure what is going on but have appt. with surgeon in the morning to check it out. Hope they didn't leave anything inside me they were not suppose to.

Was This A Mistake?
Thanks everyone.....trying to keep my chin up and pull myself out of this.

Was This A Mistake?
I'm 10 days post op and I'm second guessing my decision to do this. I know I can't go back now but I'm questioning my decisions. I'm fighting depression which I've had under control for the past 9+ years. I'm having trouble sleeping to point I'm resorting to using my pain medicaitons to knock me out. I'm having hot flashes and freezing my b/f out of the house (the a/c is at 70). After vomitting my lunch yesterday I've had pain where my stomach is and hurts just to touch that area. I'm sure I'm just feeling sorry for myself and might be feeding into the depression but I'm not sure how to pull out of this funk. My surgeon's office did call a few minutes ago to check on me, which is odd as it was not scheduled and I did not expect it. I told them what i'm feeling and they will talk to my doctor and call me back later.

Insomnia?
I'm having similar issues, I can't get to sleep at night. I've tried sleeping in different positions, different places and finally after a few hours I've took some pain medication because I know it would knock me out. I don't know how long this will last but I'm already tired of it. I can't even imagine trying to do a vacation right now, but good luck to you and hope you have a great time. If you figure out the secret to getting back on track with sleeping let me know.

Medic Alert Bracelet ?
My Bariatric team required I get one.....was part of my discharge instructions. Maybe a little pushy but I know they only have my health and safety in mind.
