  1. When did u start the process??
  2. Will do....let us know what date u get!... I have my consult on the 28th, n i will be sure to do the same!!
  3. My friend gained almost 10lbs ..when she went for her consult n was not denied nor was her surgery postponed...then again each person situation is different....u should be ok...when someone else weigh u weekly u tend to lose weight or maintain...for me it was from fear of embarrassment...lol
  4. Im going to be honest, I didn't. When I went for review I did not lose or gain.. I retained Water due to my monthly..which had me 7lbs heavier then my highest weight..so my process was delayed by a week, cuz he made me come back to see if the water weight was gone. I did not lose 10% n still was approved.
  5. No more 1 year process!!!! Which is great...u should be sleeved 6 months from June 22nd!
  6. Right...n they have also started to have more option classes too. They did say the request for surgery has tripled! When I started they told me the next class would be 6 to 8 weeks from the day I had orientation ...but they called the following week. The process is a lot faster then it was back in 2005! When I attempted the first time...glad I didn't do it then, cuz the sleeve was not a option.
  7. I am the type that do not care what one...thinks or say about me...#onlygodcanjudgeme period...I have told people, and will continue to!! There are a few women I work with ...that u can clearly tell had the surgery...n I asked one of them ...u have lost a lot of weight..what did u do? She replied...cut back on calories a lot! Ok technically she did not lie...but she left out her biggest tool that allows cutting a lot of calories possible. I would not mind sharing that I chose wls, cuz what if that person needs to hear that at that moment in time..n I can help answer any? 'S that they might have about wls...what if me speaking openly about it.. will help them to see it is really nothing to be ashamed of. I think it takes a strong person to admit they have had the surgery when asked... just because a person has a normal bmi do not mean they are healthier then u... so what that being said ....u cares what anyone thinks!!!..Ijs #iamgoing2bsleeved!!nproudofit
  8. @tonibug.......I have enough patience to go thru the insurance process vs paying out of pocket...if I would ve been denied....best believe I would ve pulled out of my savings...n went to mexico!! So to save over 8000.00 dollars by only paying 20.00 for consult and 100.00 for surgery...I could wait n b thankful that im not waiting a year...n that it was approved...also kaiser make sure u are well informed and prepared for wls...for those that choose to do so, but if I had it my way all wls would be a 30 day process from start to finish!! Lol
  9. Right!!!! Im going to keep calling to...to see if a can get a sooner one....lol...#nopatience
  10. Alright..alright..alright (in my Kevin Hart voice)....I called today 2 see if anyone cancelled n guess what?????????????? They did!!!! So my date went from July 19th to June 28th!! So that mean I might have my sleeve in July!!
  11. Yes...if you are going thru kaiser or a doctor that is contracted thru kaiser...they will let you know if you qualify for surgery...but they will not schedule you until u finish the option classes period...it is a requirement for surgery... I believe we were given the choice to, but if we choose to schedule the appt with the surgeon...we couldnt do the classes too.. So we would have had to start the class after the surgeons appt...I finished classes last week of April 2012..n the time flew by, n it was informative...I req to speak with a surgeon a few years ago....n was told to do classes first..then it was 24 weeks...n never did...til now.
  12. That is sooo not fair....it really shouldn't matter...Im having surgery outside of Kaiser ..n the surgeon said...it did not matter if it was done with kaiser or his psych....you would think Kaiser will allow u to go to another kaiser psych dept...I will b praying for someone to cancel...for u n myself!!!
  13. Lol...right!!! I did feel better
  14. @shrinkydinkme.....if it is in San Bernadino...just a fyi that might help!! I just called the department of psych in riverside...this is where I had mine done....they said their soonest appt is june 2 ... n it does not matter if your pcp is in another city...kaiser is kaiser n they do the psych eval for surgery too...so give them a call 951-248-4000
  15. St. Bernidines ...that's in San Bernadino?? I was told that the psych dept is different. As long as I had kaiser I can call the psych dept for any area to. Make a appt
  16. So kaiser fresno do not require the 12 week option classes? That's crazy...I enjoyed the classes though..they do prepare you for what's to come...but I love your 6 week time frame! How are doing with your weight loss?
  17. Ok...just a little...lol...what kaiser r u with??? Its crazy how calling to bug them to get in sooner is going to be a part of my daily routine...like brushing my teeth...good luck to u ...with getting a sooner appt...can u travel to another kaiser to get a sooner appt???
  18. @fatgirlslim....y were u denied??? Was it the same reason both times???
  19. I know...thank u all for your replies...I said all of the above... I can njoy summer, at least it was approved, the time will pass, etc....I am grateful that all I have to pay is a 20.00 copay for surgery and not out of pocket...I am ok with the date...and the nurse gave me a open invitation to call daily to see there are any cancellations...so I might luck out...but now at least I know my next step
  20. Ok...maybe that is a little much, but im freaking disappointed. I got approved by Kaiser for surgery....happy about that....but I am referred to Dr David Suh...n the soonest consult date is July 19th...I was really hoping to have had surgery by this day....Oh well... I guess by expecting this, is the reason I am disappointed with July 19th, guess that means surgery will be mid august ...... Damn damn damn!!..... Ok I feel better.... but on the flip side from start to surgery will be about 6 months exactly...so I can't complain....but I will say......Damn Damn Damn...ok im done!! Lol
