Hello fellow August sleevers !!!! My surgery was 8/8 and I am really progressing nicely. It takes some trial & error to find what works. I felt weak by day 5 and felt much better when Dr said it was okay to drink Protein Shakes. Stay healthy everyone ! August sleevers ROCK !

Well, it's official. I'm sleeved. I just passed my swallow test and have moved up to Clear Liquids. It sure is hard to sleep in the hospital. Hope I get to go home today.
Praying for all my August sleeve buddies. Wishing you all smooth recoveries.

I am also 8/19! How are you doing on the pre-op? I'm at work and forgot my sf Jello. All I have is Clear Liquids. I just started...ughhhhhh

Everything is going to be ok, your baby boy knows you love him. I don't know what kind of phone you have but maybe you can make him a short video saying you love him before you go into the OR. Praying everything goes smoothly for you.

He sure sounds like my first husband. Is his name Gene, too? He convinced me to have a "unique" relationship, too. You need to drag his butt into counseling with you! He's a narcissistic ass who isn't honoring his marriage vows to love you through thick AND thin. I doubt he's going to change. I suggest you lose another 180-200 lbs by shedding that burden. I would never recommend divorce before, but, oh, my gosh, he sounds like my ex and ending that relationship was the healthiest thing I ever did!
Whatever you make peace with, start being a little more self-centered. You deserve it and it will throw Mr Have-My-Cake-And-Eat-It-Too off balance.

I'm having mine done on August 19th, and an incredibly excited! I'm trying to be better about my eating (a big step for me, as I love junk food) and today when I realized I needed groceries, I put on the brand new walking shoes I bought yesterday, threw on my backpack, and walked a mile to the store! Whatever I purchased, I carried home on my back or in a bag. In this crazy heat, the sweat ran like rain, my friend! LOL!
Anyway, eating better and going to try to walk 45 min (at least) 5 days a week. I'm new to the site and would love some new friends to go through the process with too!

13 days post surgery & down 19 pounds!

I am one of the first people to rag on her hubby when he is being a jerk but i just wanted to say that my DH has decided to do the two week pre op with me. He will be drinking shakes and having sugarvfree approved Snacks. He wants to see how much he can lose and wants to see how hard it really is. He already admits he knows he is weaker. So sweet! I think it will be great for us to walk together a little bit on this journey.

Thanks ladies! I am looking at it like this. I am done having kids, I am on my way to new health and I am determined to not need her for anything like this again. I just look at my beautiful daughter and think if she needed life saving surgery (and my mom does totally agree that this is) then there isn't anything I wouldn't do to help her.
