I've Been Slimmed!
Sliming is when you eat a bite too much or something that you're not tolerating well and you feel full and your mouth keeps filling up with saliva. I get this when I eat a bite too much and my mouth fills up with thicker saliva and I just keep spitting it out. The feeling subsides after a little while.

Foster Children
I was back at work in less than a week. I was in very minimal pain and was able to get along with my daily life just fine. I did not have any crying moments or sadness and there was very little that I couldn't do.

Ended Up In Er Yesterday On Vaca..... And
I feel like I had a similar story. Both the pain and the doctors being clueless I went to the ER in crazy pain. Right below by rib cage in the middle. Like a burning nagging horrible sensation. Upon arrival at the ER the nurse didn't know what the sleeve was. Then when the doctor came I had to tell him what it was and how it was different from Gastric bypass. Then he started asking me questions about why I chose the doctor I did and why I chose this surgery over others... Meanwhile I was in pain. So fast forward to an X-ray EKG ultrasound and blood tests... They can't find anything wrong. Then less than a week later same episode. Blood tests and cat scan later can't find any problems. I have since made an appointment with a GI. Let's see what he says Luckily for me one dose of dilaudid did wonders for me however if I was to be at work and suffer I wouldnt be able to take a heavy duty pain killer so I really need to find out what is wrong!

Low Iron
Ok. That would be great! Thanks!

Low Iron
What's the name of your laxative and where do you get it? How long does it take to work?
-
Halitosis?
My husband politely told me that since surgery I often have bad breath. Any relation to surgery? I am not drinking Protein shakes... So that isn't it.

Low Iron
So I was told that I was low on Iron and to take a supplement. So I have been. But it's been making me constipated. So I will go a few days without taking it do I can go to the bathroom But then I get diahhrhea. So then I start taking it again and within one day of taking it bad constipation and lots of bloating. I feel like my entire intestines are filled... Very uncomfortable Any advice?

Mourning Food
I thought I was done with the while mourning of food Sleeved 4-24-12 but it has dawned on more recently that I will really not be able to have foods I used to love ... Bagels. pizza. Pizza bagels. Ok I'm getting to be repetitive but it's like it's kind of really setting in now. Like this is not a diet. It really is a lifestyle change. I've tried to "sneak" in some foods that I shouldn't have... One bagel with cream cheese (made me sick). Chocolate=diahhrhea. Cinnamon toast crunch... Diahhrhea instantly. And the list goes on. I think it's only natural to try foods. It's like you just have to see what it's like and what happens This is also where slider foods come in. For example a new slider food for me is rice cakes. Not horrible for you but also not great for you. Doritos also went down fine... So I know there are things I have to be careful with Also there are foods that are an absolute no no. No fried foods!!! It's not just diahhrhea but it's horrible pain! Like go to the ER pain...

Gallbladder Sludge
I'm hoping when I go to the gastro doc I get something figured out. I asked my mom very seriously if it could all be in my head. She said no. When I get the pain I have tried to do self soothing things like breathing slowly. Laying differently. Ice packs etc but to no avail... I thought it could be mind over matter but it didn't work I feel like the docs at the ER are goin to think I'm crazy.

Are you fine now? Did they remove anything or just give you meds? I've had blood tests EKG X-ray cat scan an ultrasound and they haven't found ANYTHING. I made an appointment with a gastro doc so we will see what happens I am terrified of this continuing to happen and without a diagnosis I don't know what behaviors to Change...

Good Stories
So not too long ago there was a thread about embarrassing fat stories. I was wondering what are some cool after the sleeve stories people have??

Gallbladder Sludge
Ok. So I'm back at the hospital. Had another attack. Same kind of pain however the intensity was only 8 this time. Last time it was an excruciating 10. But before the pain got too bad I did take a dilaudid which is a painkiller I was given after my surgery on 4-24-12 that I never used. It made my pain go away but made me very loopy. I am still at the hospital because I want to get everything checked out. They are giving me a at scan soon For those of you that have had your gallbladder out have you had to change your diet even more or are there certain things that you absolutely cannot eat anymore? They still don't think it's my gallbladder but whatever it is I need to know. I have a full time job in which I do a lot of driving so I can't take painkiller while I'm at work if I ever get this pain. Plus it's just scary to not know what a pain is coming from I ate one light string cheese and about 5 fork fills of potato salad... So I did eat some fat but not any crazy amount... Perhaps that was the cause?? Any ideas anyone??? Any similar experiences ?
