  1. I am Over three months out and i still struggle with head hunger every day... Sometimes I feel Hungry in my stomach... Only to go eat something and be only able to eat a bite... That's how I know it's head hunger. It is such a long learning process... I still make mistakes and make stupid decisions... Just gotta keep learning from them.
  2. Ok. I'm clueless. What kinds of things do you mix this syrup with? What are good flavors and combinations?
  3. Can a hiatal hernia, small sliding turn into a para esophageal hernia?
  4. I was 375 and in a 34/36
  5. When I had the endoscopy before surgery they did say I had a small hernia... And that if when they did the surgery it looked bad they would fix it. But.. I just realized I have no clue if it was ever fixed. I will def call my surgeon and ask about this and bring it all up to the GI doctor on Wednesday. Thanks.
  6. And when I take the painkiller it does work (even though it takes an hour to work). When it starts to kick in it does take the pain away. When the medicine wears off the pain doesn't come back... And that's what I find weird... You would think that when the painkiller wore off... The pain would come back... But it doesn't
  7. Yeah. I don't have any nausea or stomach ache or diahhrhea when this happens.
  8. Very interesting. I never ever had this or anything like this before surgery and only started having it about three months after surgery. I'll try drinking Water next time it happens... It's so unbearable
  9. Yeah. This pain is Crazy and it's not in my head... I'm going to continue to seek out doctors until this is figured out... If I do get an answer I'll Let you all know I wouldn't wish this pain on my worst enemy Apparently ppl say gallbladder pain is worse than childbirth
  10. I just had a horrible pain attack again. This is when i get pain by the bottom of my rib cage in the middle. Horrible deep feeling pain. Didn't go to hospital but took a heavy duty pain killer after i had the pain for 15 minutes. Took a solid hour to work. Was in complete agony. On a scale of 1-10 it got to an 8. I was hot and sweaty. Was pacing around the house. Wanted to cry my eyes out. Nothing I did helped. No way of laying... Or stretching. Ice pack didn't reduce pain. But just made me less hot. Now I am loopy from pain killer. Also have neck and shoulder pain. Still don't know what the f**k this is from. Didnt eat anything stupid or strange either. Seeing GI doctor on Wednesday. If they have even the slightest feeling it might be my gallbladder I want the fucker taken out. This is the fourth time I've had pain and it was absolutely horrible. (went to ER three times for this). Just to recap I've had a cat scan, EKG, blood test, urine test, X-ray, and ultrasound. Ive been to my gastric surgeon and my primary doctor, not to mention the three different ER doctors. The only thing that was found was gallbladder sludge an a polyp in my gallbladder... Which they say wouldn't cause this pain. They all have no idea what this is all about. I'm praying the GI doctor an figure this out. I do a lot of driving for work and see my clients throughout the month (I'm a social worker) so having this pain while I'm at work (which thankfully hasn't happened yet) is just not an option for me. One of my biggest fears is that I will get it at work... I would take a painkiller because there is just no other way to deal... But that would mean I would have to take sick time... And just lay in my car for several hours... No way I can drive on this medication. Sorry for the foul language. Just stressed out. I know I've posted about this pain before... But if anyone has any ideas or similar experiences.... Please please help! Thank you Btw. I am now three months and 5 days out of surgery and I've lost 91 pounds (although been in a stall for a week now due to my period). Went from a 5x and just today I fit in a 3x!
  11. What does it mean to eat rogue?
  12. I haven't figured out this whole thing yet... I recently have been having a lot of rice cakes... Granted they aren't horrible for you... But they are also not good for you either. And I can eat like 3 full cakes at once... Makes me worry about my stomach stretching. But... I feel like I do this more so when I am gettin and have my period (tmi?)
  13. Walked up two flights of stairs no problem
  14. I have lost a lot of my butt and it is also very squishy now I dont mind it. As long as I keep getting skinnier I don't care if my butt completely disappears
  15. Same exact thing with me. I know my stomach size doesn't change but my appetite sure does.
  16. Can we have this after surgery? I am At the hospital for pain in my chest and they came and gave me one.
  17. They sai they are going to do blood tests but that's it. They said they are going to check different things in blood but not do any other kinds of tests because I've pretty much had every test possible done to me already and they don't think they are going to figure out what is wrong with me tonight. So I will do the blood test but I guess from now until the gastro doc I will just have to suffer through anything.
  18. What was your diagnosis? Remove your gallbladder?
  19. Alright. Back in the ER again. And on my three month surgiversary. Yay me. Same pain. I took a painkiller but still want to get checked out. Went to a different hospital this time instead of the one I went to the last two times... As I feel they didn't really care or believe me. Need to get this figured out. Hoping for a new opinion. I'll update this when I get more information.
  20. Cool. Well if you ever have any questions feel free to contact me. I was texting buddies with someone for a while. Open to doing that again.
  21. Thanks everyone! I have to say it did take me until now to actually realize that I am losing weight and see a difference.

  23. Hello, Tomorrow is my 3 month Surgiversary. Just wanted to give an update as to my progress. I was sleeved 4-24-12 by Dr. Kwon of Tri-State Bariatrics in Middletown, NY at Bon Secour Hospital in Port Jervis NY. Starting Weight: 375 Starting BMI: 62.4 (super obese...) Starting Clothing Size: 34/36 Surgery Day Weight: 370 Surgery Day BMI: 62.4 Current Weight: 288.8 Current BMI: 48 (morbidly obese...yay!) Current Clothing Size: 28 Weight Lost: 86.2 BMI Change: 14.4 Things I can do now that I wasn't able to do before: Walk, walk without back pain, tie my shoes, cleanse myself properly after the bathroom without any struggle at all, different sex positions, completely reach my arms behind my back and touch hands, fit in the car without my stomach even coming close to the steering wheel, fit in my husbands clothes (some of them), lost my "hump back" (fat section at back of my neck), go to the gym, get out of the pool using a ladder (last time I did that, the ladder step broke, humiliating me....no stairs to get out of pool, had to have my husband literally push me out of the pool), fit in a movie theater seat, cleanse myself in the shower without having to twist in odd ways, touch my toe to my head (lol), clean the house without getting winded, cook for my husband without needing to sit every 3 minutes, go for a walk and not feel like I'm dying, be proud to get weighed at the doctors office, switch my wedding rings to my middle finger because they became too loose on ring finger, find clothes that fit me, the list goes on... I am very happy with my decision to get this surgery. A few years ago, my father and stepmother got on my case to get gastric bypass - since I was soon to be graduating college, my health insurance was only going to last for 6 more months. At that point, my dad literally said to me "tell the doctor that you soon won't have insurance so that they can rush it." Back then, I was not mentally ready for it - perhaps we are never fully mentally ready for it, but I felt now that it was my choice, I was settled in life, I was happy - now was the right time to do it. I only told a few people about it - but I have been telling people ever since. I only got one not so great reaction - "don't you think that was a little drastic?" but I know that came with love. Besides that, nothing but love and support. I even told my dad about a month ago...he was happy for me, but had to bring up that a few years ago I didn't do it when he asked, but I simply had to tell him that I wasn't ready for it them. So why did I do this surgery? Two main reasons - to be healthy, and to be able to have children. I'm 26 years old, and would like to have children soon. There are literally hundreds of other reasons (yes, I have a list), but don't feel like retyping it now. So, what do I eat on a daily basis? I pretty much try to stick with Protein foods - light string cheese, yogurt (lite, or chobani), deli mean (turkey/chicken), grilled chicken, that kind of thing I do have some fruit - apples, strawberries, cherries, watermelon, grapes and peaches. I do have some veggies - cabbage, broccoli, green Beans, carrots, and some potatoes, although I really try to limit that. I do not drink any kind of Protein Drink - as they all haven't worked out for me. I try to get my protein in through my food. I also try to drink a lot each day, although I don't think I quite always get the 64 ounces in. So, what foods don't work you ask? chocolate (diarrhea); graham crackers (diarrhea), eggs (stick), breads (extremely full feeling), lemons/oranges (acid reflux), boneless buffalo wings (horrible gallbladder pain - requiring me to go to ER..more on that in a minute), Vitamin Water (diarrhea), regular gatorade (diarrhea) Now, you'll notice that everything with me causes diarrhea, but nothing causes me to throw up. There have been a few occasions in which I thought I might vomit, but I never have. Now, back to the boneless buffalo wing - so I had one, and I felt completely fine, so a week or so later, I had three. Felt fine until night, when I thought I had horrible heart burn. Mylanta didn't touch it. Fast forward to the next day at 5 p.m. I was in the ER. Horrrrrrrible pain right below my rib cage in the center. EKG, blood test, ultrasound, CAT scan, xray - all came back negative. They are really not sure what the problem is. I have an appointment with the GI for August 1st. I know eating the wing was a stupid thing to do, but the amount of excruciating pain I was in was ridiculous...I had to have a morphine IV drip.... so I'm thinking that there must be something wrong....especially because since then (two weeks ago) I just haven't felt right. I haven't had the crazy pain, but I've had some mild discomfort. Do I have any regrets? Every now and then I miss eating certain things, but it's def not a regret. I would do this all over again. Most people on here say that they wish that they had done it sooner - I'm not the same. I am glad I did it now because I know that I was ready NOW, not before. I didn't want to be pressured into a surgery or get anything rushed. Plus, if I did it back then, it would have been gastric bypass, not the sleeve, and I don't think I would have been happy with that. I am going to upload some pictures of me - before when I was skinny at about 16 years old, then me at my heaviest (375) and then some of me in a new fabulous size 28 dress I bought the other day. Also, I'm uploading pics of me in my "fat" pants, size 34/36. Any questions, comments, etc, please let me know! Always looking to help! Kimmy J
