  1. I'm having banded plication on may 29!
  2. That would annoy me too! Can you ask him to go in another room?
  3. I was at my pre op class today and they said most of their patients don't have a problem with gas pain because they're woken up to walk every 2 hours. Lol So, that sounds horrible, but I guess better than painful gas!
  4. Good luck, shy!
  5. Amazing news! Congrats
  6. I was just at my pre op class today. The nurse said treadmill or elliptical or recumbent bike is good after the first week. Nothing too strenuous for a month tho, so it looks like my trainer wont see me for a few weeks!
  7. I finally told my dad because he's picking me up from the hospital, and I told one other friend who I know can keep a secret. It's a personal choice and for me I just don't feel like broadcasting the news (for now).
  8. Do you have to be careful with abs and other bending due to the port? Curious.
  9. I haven't had my surgery yet. I keep hearing about people having stuck episodes, and it scares me that it might happen while out to dinner with friends. but I guess that's why a lot of bandsters just order soup!
  10. It's not covered by my insurance and it's still in the research phase. My doc is doing it and I'll be part of the study.
  11. I don't have to do pre op diet--only 1 day clear liquids, but I plan to do protein shakes for a few days before surgery anyway.
  12. Thanks Jim. I hope it doesn't take all day, but I'll do what I gotta do!
  13. Fingers crossed. Good luck
  14. for me, i am setting mini-goals. For my overall end-goal, I would love to get to 160 which i think i could maintain...if I get to 150 that would be AMAZING...I ended up putting 135 as my goal...135 seems like a far-fetched dream to me, but it would get me right in the range for a normal BMI. So, after I hit 160, we'll see how I feel.
  15. I have my pre-surgical testing and bariatric surgery class tomorrow. My paperwork says I should allow 6 hours of my day for both these things. Did anyone else have the same thing? What exactly is the testing and the class all about? I didnt expect to spend all day doing this!! Thanks for any insights!
  16. My surgery date was changed to May 29 (instead of May 30)....the sooner, the better as far as I'm concerned!
  17. I have my pre op testing and class tomorrow! They told me to allow for 5-6 hours to finish everything. wow! anyone else have that?
  18. What a wonderful birthday present for you! I'm having surgery on May 29!
  19. How is the gas and the nausea? Are you still in liquids?
  20. Hmm I'm surprised the colace isnt helping. Maybe call your doc in the morning?
