  1. I am nearly 8 weeks out and have had constipation for a few weeks now. So much so I now have a haemaroids. The doc has prescribed me 2 sachets of stool softener a day plus Senakot (I am not sure if you get that over in the States). My dietician from the hospital had already written to my doc to say that I could well suffer from this so it seems a common side affect. I hope you get some relief soon x
  2. I was about 19 days but should have waited for 21 days due to my car insurance not being valid until 3 weeks post op. The problem is not driving, I could have probably driven after about 8 days, it's having the stomach muscles to perform an emergency stop. But that's UK car insurance, it could well be different over there.
  3. I had a couple of glasses of wine last week - 6 1/2 weeks post op. although no problem that evening I suffered from the worst acid reflux for the next 2 days. The day after I was in pain, sick twice and couldn't face any food. I won't be trying it again for a while!
  4. I have the same problem - 7 weeks post op. I am taking sachets given to me by the doctor and syrup of fig, but nothing seems to be happening.
  5. Well done, you are doing a great job. What a difference in your face especially, gorgeous x
  6. My weight loss is very slow too. I have lost 21lbs in 7 weeks including my pre op diet and am kind of losing interest with it all. I was weighing myself every day but haven't done so for about 4 days now. Everyone else seems to be doing so well, I don't like being the slow one :-(
  7. The link never worked for me, but I sent a friends request - Suzie MacDonald. Thanks
  8. Another slow loser here. I am 5 weeks post surgery and have lost approx 20lbs. But this includes a stall and then a 5lb drop in 2 days. To be honest, although I wish was having amazing weight loss like some others I see posting I am just happy it's coming off, even though no one has noticed. I now walk about 4 miles most days but the weight just doesn't drop off. But I have no back pain which I was getting walking to the end of the road pre op. I also have had no hair loss issues, when did this problem start with other people? I am still delighted I had this op and look forward to the next lb off. Congratulations to everyone on their weight loss :-)
  9. I got something from the pharmacy to help and things soon change once I could lie on my stomach. But I still have sleeping issues. I can get to sleep no problem but am wide awake a few hours later. I am sure it will sort itself out soon. Good luck x
  10. Sorry, you aren't feeling great. I would recommend peppermint tea to get rid off gas and settle the stomach. Can you not have clear soup after a few days if you like savory? Bear with it, things will get better, I promise. I was operated on 26th June and feel better every day (apart from the few odd days).
  11. I am to go to my doctors every 6 months for blood tests to see if I have any nutricianal deficiencies. They say that I will probaby need B12 shots, but not long enough out of surgery yet to need anything.
  12. I am 2 1/2 weeks post op and returned to work a couple of days ago. I have decided to walk to and from work (approx 5 miles round trip) and have put on 2lbs. I also came home today and slept for 2 hours I was so tired. I am hoping it's a blip and walking 5 miles a day and my reduced intake will soon see the lbs drop off (fingers crossed).
  13. When I was in hospital after the op all I was allowed was water for the first day and a half. The water was served with a straw. I take all cold fluids with a straw and had no problems.
  14. I am 11 days post op and today was my first day of soft foods. As per my diet sheet I had a very small amount of porridge for breakfast, cheese and onion omelet for lunch and fish in a white sauce for dinner. It took me ages to eat each meal as I chewed and chewed it and I had no problems. I felt full all day.
