  1. I was banded 8/17/2010 and have lost 97lbs so far and 15lbs away from goal!
  2. It's possible you may not be eating enough calories as well. I'm 2 years out, 97lbs lost, and 10-15lbs from my personal goal. When I first started this journey my calories were anywhere from 900-1200 per day. Maybe even less. Add in exercise and the caloric defecit was significant. Now, I can't lose weight with such a small amount of calories. I actually have to eat between 1400-1600 calories a day to lose a pound a week, if that. If you don't have a lot to lose from the get-go, it's hard. My suggestion is to speak with your nutritionist. Definitely keep a food diary. The app/site myfitnesspal is great for helping you keep track of your calories. I've lost the past 50lbs with its help. I wish you luck! And hang in there!
  3. I had 2 c sections and LBS and frommy experience the LBS was a walk in the park. If you tolerated a c section well then you should have no problem with this
  4. I just started eating plain Greek yoghurt with sliced banana, a little PB2 powder, and some drizzled honey. It is DELICOUS its a great filler and protein source. You can add granola or blueberries. Either way it's really good.

  8. Hi! Congrats on your new band I was banded 7/2010. Since then I am down 96lbs. I am only 20lbs away from goal. It wasn't an easy road to get here, and I had many ups and downs. But it was worth it. My advice for anyone new with the band is you have to diet and exercise. You have to change your way of thinking when it comes to food. The band is only a tool; you have to make it work. Too many people believe its some magic little device that will make them drop weight without having to do anything. That's far from the truth. Make better choices when it comes to your foods and you'll see the weight come off. Also, for the past year I've been using the myfitnesspal app in my phone. It makes you accountable for everything that goes into your mouth. We don't realize how many calories we consume. But this app/website helps with that. I wish you lots of luck on your new journey!!!! Keep us posted
  9. Don't get discouraged. I know it's easier said than done, believe me. I'm 2 years out from my surgery and down 95 lbs. It was a hard road to get where I am, and I am still not done (25 more to hit goal). You have to diet. Plain and simple. The band is a tool, nothing more. I know so many people who did not do well with the band because they had this horrible misconception that they could eat whatever they wanted, and the band would simply cut the portions. Wrong. You have to make healthier choices. My suggestion would be to join myfitnesspal or a similar site. It will allow you to be accountable for every bite/calorie you take. When I hit a plateau about a year ago I joined. I was amazed to see what I was doing! Again, you're still so new to all this. It's forever a learning experience, even when you hit your 2 year mark like me. I wish you lots of luck! Stay positive!
  10. Can you physically feel them, as in with your fingers? Meaning if you palpate the area with your finger tips it happens. Or is it internal? I'm a nurse so I'm just trying to rule out other issues
  11. Hi I'm new to the forum but not to the band I'm from port Jeff station, 31, and was banded by Dr. Gabriel back in July 2010. I have recently just switched to Dr. Aurora Pryor though (who i love) for my band care. I've been very happy with my band so far, down 90lbs, 30lbs away from goal. I'm actually interested now in cosmetic surgery and wondering if anyone local here has had any and if so what has your experience been? Who was your doctor? Etc. I'm really excited to meet people local to me that can relate to what I'm going through with the band )
