  1. I'm 1 1/2 years out of surgery and have already to two Pesachs, one round of each of the other holidays, and three shiva houses. Whew. We are not frum, but do keep kosher
  2. I love Nick Nicholson in Dallas, and also had a great experience at Forest Park. I have Blue Cross Federal Employees Program, and they paid quickly and gave me no problems!
  3. Me too, Pinky. I'm 5 feet not-so-tall and am loving wearing 14 and 16 petites. I just bought two new pairs of jeans....but they're at the tailor shop getting hemmed. Oh we'll, at least the rise is right and the thighs aren't chasing me!
  4. Starbucks has a little secret! Most of their shops have a size called "short", so you can cut the cals and carbs of your latte by having the smaller size. The tall is often too much for me anyway!
  5. Um, I'm a little scared! I'm 4 1/2 months out and hadn't had any pasta until about 10 minutes ago, when I made some gluten free pasta for my family's dinner side. I had a little ramekin of the pasta and then sat down to read the forum! Wish me luck.
  6. I just had the best shopping day ever. I went to Vicky's Secret with my daughter and thought I'd try on a bra....it fit! Tried on another and another...they fit! Then we went to The Loft. I could get into their cute XLs. Oh, wait! Some were too big and I had to get the L. And a cardigan in a medium! Extra bonus? I spent all my money, so there's no chance I'll spend it on naughty food. Life is good. Always remember that the number on the scales isn't as telling as the clothes that now fit.

Hi. I do hot yoga 5-7 times a week and love it. The classes are either 1 1/2 hours long or 1 hour, and the sweat feels great. It's easier to stretch muscles in the heat, and I'm getting toned like crazy. I love it and look forward to going!
  8. Hi, everyone! The pounds are coming off slower than the inches for me, but my fave victory.....I went on a 12 day trip to Colorado and all of my new t-shirts are size L ! Not XXL, not XL, but L ! Sorry, honey, but I'm going to need a new trip when I get to M Ya'll take care, out there!
  9. Sonic will make their limeades with water instead of sprite. Ask them to add one or two splendas. It tastes good enough and costs a whole lot less ????
  10. Dr Nick is wonderful, but he is more than $1000. He does provide lifetime care and access to a lot of support, though.
  11. Me too! Maybe it's an April 17 thing????
  12. Are you still there Dea? I found a pretty good protein powder with stevia. It's made by Metagenics , which is medical food headed. It's a little pricey, but you might want to check it out. I wont use artificial.
  13. I'm in the same boat, but I'm between 1000 and 1200 cals, only healthy stuff. My nut is ok with it, and she told me that the 600 cals I started out with wasn't enough . I'm confused, but not panicked.
  14. Good point, CaliKat. I can eat a full meal on a little plate, but it keeps me full for hours!
  15. I'm with you...I don't feel restriction either. I've had 2 incidents that proved my sleeve, but they weren't about eating too much; they were about not reacting well to a particular type of food. My weight loss has been very slow, but I've already dropped 2 sizes in 4 1/2 weeks. My nutritionist wanted me to eat more calories than the 650 I was getting in, and she wanted me to push my proteins up from 60 to 70. I'm working on it!
  16. they gave me a "binder" at the hospital to splint my abdomen...said it would help with the pain. it didn't stay in place, so I bought a super high waist panty and wear it all the time. it reminds me to hold my tummy in. only problem, i never remember to eat when it's on!
  17. Hang on guys...you forgot about me! I felt just like gr8fun does and was worried, too. Now I'm 4 1/2 weeks out, I find that I can hold a lot more food than a lot of you guys. I just make an effort to put my food on a small plate, leave spaces between each food, and stick to protein first, then veg, then starch. You'll know for sure that your sleeve is working if you accidentally eat just one bite too many, gr8. The sick, slimy feeling we get if we aggravate our sleeves helps you learn when to quit.
  18. First step....wait for the good news that the biopsy comes out negative. Next step...keep the faith. Meanwhile, we'll be waiting for you to join us on the bench soon.
  19. No way that you messed up too bad. But this pre-op is a good time to learn that every time that you overeat post-op comes with a big risk of big negative impact. One extra bite or a meal eaten too quickly can result in immediate chest pain, difficulty breathing, nausea, and your mouth and throat filling with mucous. Now go out there and get your dream sleeve...you'll be glad you did!
  20. Praying for you!
  21. Thanks Wendy's! 1 slice of cheese and 2 bites of baked sweet potato (hold the topping) makes for a nice lunch under $2. Pretty sweet, since most fast foods don't have much for us no-meat eaters
