  2. I would discuss your options with your Dr. If your level is too high, then your thyroid is not functioning right. I had mine out in March of 2011 due to pre-cancer cells. I take medication daily to keep it normal. I know you are disappointed about your surgery, but it is best to figure out what is going on. Will be praying for you! Take Care!
  3. I bought Total Lean protein shakes from GNC. I drink 3 a day, eat lots of SF jello and have broth. Really haven't been Hungary, but then again only on my second day. Good luck!
  4. Checking in with all August 28th Sleevers!! Starting the 1 week liquid diet tomorrow, YEAH!!! Excited, nervous and ready for this change. Sending everyone prayers for a safe successful surgery!!

  8. How is everyone doing since their surgery? I hope all is well! I talked with my sister over the weekend and she had the Gastric Bypass 2 years ago. She has met her goal and maintains her weight. I told her my husband, kids and I along with his family will be going on a cruise in December. We discussed how much weight I could lose by then. Little nervous about buying clothes, but want to enjoy the beach. Any suggestions regarding how much weight I may lose. My surgery is August 28th and we fly out on December 19th.

  20. Received my approval call today! I am very excited!! For those of you in Kansas, was told that some insurance companies are no longer requiring 6 months supervised diets!! Surgery will be sometime in August.

  22. My sisters had gastric bypass and my niece had the sleeve. I have watched them go through their processes and decided the sleeve was the best option for me. Its less evasive, only one incision line vs 3, no re-routing of the small intestines and most importantly, not much vitamin deficiencies. Any type of surgery is scary. My sisters and niece do not regret the procedures. They have been really honest about the procedure ups and downs. Its alot of soul searching as well. Best of luck to you!
  23. I am 5'0 208 lbs. 1st visit with surgeon on May 16th w/hopes of getting insurance approval as well. It is great to read success stories and hope to be able to share my "short" story with everyone.
  24. Hello Everyone, I am new to this forum and have my first consult with Dr. Hoehn at the Bariatric Center on May 16th. I would love to hear feedback from anyone in Kansas City or Northeast Kansas area who has had the VSG? Thanks
