  1. Hi everyone! I'm only 9 days post-op, but I'm worried I may not be getting enough calories. My surgeon's paperwork doesn't specify calorie goals. I figured about 800, but I'm not even getting 500. Should I be worried or will I get more calories in once I start soft foods? Thanks for any advice!!
  2. it could, yes. sugar can make you sick. have you tried a real lemon or something similar? just an idea
  3. weight gain is normal! it is fluid and swelling. i promise you'll see a loss soon. just keep sipping once that drainage tube comes out, you'll feel much better! take care!
  4. my daughter is 5. I told her I was going to have surgery to make my stomach smaller. She's had 3 surgeries herself so she understands more than most kids her age. I wasn't afraid to tell her the truth. You know your kids better than anyone. I wanted my daughter to understand and if she tells the world, oh well! lol She's been telling people I can't eat food and I have to drink. lol It doesn't bother me, but rather, makes me proud that she understands somewhat.
  5. Glad you are being positive and handling this well great job and good luck!
  6. isn't it nuts?! it's amazing what we realize later on, after surgery. even though i am on clear liquids, i find myself checking the protein and carb content on everything! lol
  7. taking the drain out is no problem, no pain. however, it was painful while in. not everyone will have this discomfort, though! if you're going to mexico, it's only a few days. walk as much as possible. good luck!
  8. the hunger you are feeling is most likely just gas. i'm 6 days post-op and still get it some, but it only lasts a few seconds. good luck!
  9. get better soon! this will pass and you will be able to start your new life good for you for listening to your body and taking a stand! good luck and take care!
  10. a drain isn't too horrible. i thought it would hurt coming out, but i didn't feel a thing! i agree with lissa though. if you don't get one, you're lucky lol they're a little annoying while in
  11. I really feel for ya! i've never heard of anyone being on liquids for that long. and no sf jello? that's a clear liquid! it seems you are strong, though, and will make it through this. think about the weight you will lose. i saw somewhere that "life starts at the end of your comfort zone". we will all be stronger in the end...and sexier!!
  12. we were sleeved the same day! i've only lost 10lbs since pre-op, but i'm still swollen and have some womanly issues to deal with LOL sorry if too much info i look forward to seeing your future success!
  13. it's nice to see i'm not the only one! lol i was so cold 3 days post-op i was chilling. would've sworn i had a fever, but nope, just cold glad to see it was normal lol
