made my night!!!

OMG!! I just looked at this as I'm spooning pumpkin pie into my face (surgery scheduled in Feb) and suddenly that pie doesn't seem quite so alluring. You've done AWESOME!!

I am still full from the little bit I ate today! I would have had two or more servings I had a tiny tiny tea cup saucer and I am still full! I LOVE IT! I was able to ENJOY the food as well!

Today has been exactly four weeks since my surgery! It is also Thanksgiving. And you know what? I don't even care! I figure that as long as I get my Protein in and I listen to my sleeve, I can splurge a little. By splurge, I mean have a bite of something that tickles my fancy. Just a bite, too! I am not going crazy on the things that I would normally, like rolls and coleslaw (my grandmother-in-law makes the best homemade coleslaw!) and potatoes and gravy. I didn't even have any of the above. It just didn't sound great to me! I had a bite of banana cream pie and it was delicious, but I refused to have any more! I really only had turkey and other things that have protein (deviled eggs, pickle wraps made with roast beef).
I'm not even adding all of this into My Fitness Pal. Why? Because I think it is necessary to have a day to be more relaxed. I have stuck to a strict diet for the last month and I know that even out of all of the bites of things that I had, I haven't surpassed my personal calorie goal of 800. And if I did by a little, I am okay with that. Any other day, my heart would probably sink if that happened. Today, I am having a me day and it feels good.
In short, Thanksgiving isn't getting the best of me! I am using moderation, my sleeve, and my protein first motto and am not missing my old way of eating at all!

My understanding of drinking soda be it diet or regular is the carbonation is NOT good for the sleeve, it causes it to expand and can stretch it out if it is a routine drink. Also on newly sleeved it causes tummy troubles from all the bubbles in the carbonation. I have not had had my surgery yet but I feel ya, I have recently quit drinking my crack..... oh I mean Diet Pepsi and I want one on a hourly basis but I'm quitting now so hopefully I will be over my addiction to my Diet Pepsi before surgery. well said!!It is a hard situation to be in and my heart goes out to you. But the poster is right, you made the choice to have the surgery. You chose a new way of life. Only you have to stick with it. It will make for easy if he followed your path, but as we all know, this is a personal fight and journey. Until I was ready to make a change, my husband who is super fit, could not influence me. I ate what I wanted, when I wanted, and stayed away from the gym. He kept he's eating habit and exercised on a regular basis. Then I reached me breaking point and had the surgery. He embraced me and supported me. he offers help only when ask.
You might not be able to push your new habits on your love ones. But let them see you do well and lose the weight as planned. He will come and ask for advice. Stay focus and stay strong. Your actions will speak volume.

Ladyk I'm sorry that you are going through this, but the changes you made are what you decided to make. You can't force other people to make those same changes or any for that matter. Just like you had to decide for yourself, your husband will have to make that choice for himself. If you push him, he may resent it. But you just have to keep doing what you know is best for you and set the example for your family, and hopefully your husband will see how serious this is to you and decide to make changes for his-self. I know it's hard, I have some of the same problems with older kids who buy for themselves, but I know the reason why I had this surgery and I try to stick to my plan as much as possible. It's not easy but hang in there.

I CRIED lol!!! but I will let you know, almost six months since my surgery I WILL DO IT AGAIN it was so worth it. You will enjoy all that stuff again in due time. Some won't even appeal to you anymore. Be patient, I know it's hard, the time will come.

That was one reason I went for this surgery. My daughter is 11yrs and I could never get pregnant after her. My period was very irregular. I used to go three months without one and have it stay two weeks. Than it will show a month later last four days and that's it for another three months or so. Since surgery I am regular. Can't really get pregnant yet since we are to wait at least 12-18 months. But I have a great feeling that I will get pregnant as soon I get the green light from my doctor. CAN'T WAIT!!

As of yesterday I lost 210 lbs... half my body weight. People are starting to ask me if I'm at goal. I'm wearing clothing that can best be described as average sized. Nothing bigger than a large and mostly medium with size 36 or 38 pants. I'm now just 9 lbs from my first major goal, 10 pounds from onderland, and 29 lbs from my stretch goal of 180. I'm really charged up about the prospects for the new year.
Oh what a wonderful feeling to have the seat belt fit on an airplane. One of the best NSVs yet.

Sounds like you're in a stall/plateau. I would love to be down 130 in 7 months, personally. There are a lot of tactics for dealing with stalls, including upping calories for a bit, changing up your exercise routine, and then just plain giving your body time to adjust. Remember, your body's default thing to do when it's losing weight is to fight to hold on to it, because it's sure you're dying of starvation. Keep it up, you're doing great

Don't worry about the drain. Mines came out on day three right before discharge from the hospital. It did not hurt but it was uncomfortable and felt weird. The nurse didn't warn before she started and I didn't know what to expect. Once she saw my face and started moving slower, I was ok.

CONGRATS ON THE BABY!!!!! I had this surgery so that I can have a baby! but I am sure the doctors will watch you closely. Follow their orders and take good care of yourself. God be with you and your little angel :wub:

I can not believe this type of behavior is admitted here. She has the right to like a product. First she get reported because it looked like she was selling the product. That is weird. I read a lot of post about people feeling tired and anemic. My doc placed me on a product and within a week felt great improvement. I could barely wait to post the name, along with a picture, of the Iron supplement. Should I be reported? if you tried it with no improvement, does that make me a fraud?
We are not always going to agree, but we have to respect each other. Our journey is not going to be the same. What works for me, is not going to work for you. But that does not make me wrong or you right.
We are a group of healing addicts. We have society looking at us like weirdos for cutting off a body part just for the sake of losing weight. We share that bound. We should be each others biggest fan and supporters. It makes me sad to read how mean you are to JaspersGirl. Plus as a man, why are being so petty toward a woman?! MAKES NO SENSE!! And I have come across quiet a few of your comments. Always rude, sarcastic and looking for a fight. It's ok... you are among friends....relax, stop being so angry!!!
My cousin had the band and lost 125 lbs. She has been heavy for years. Her skin is fantastic. She swears by some weird potion that she applies to her skin. She gave it to me, and my skin is sagging. Am I to bash her?! NO!
We are all different. Let us congratulate each other in our success and respect our differences But this bullying got to stop.
