    Will They Deny Me?

I am self pay as well and the eval did not get in the way. But I do need to learn new coping skills. Since you are in North Fort Myers, I live in Naples, look into: Therapy For Women LLC Her name is Brenda R. Deere, she's is a coach in weight loss for women. Including WLS, obesity, coping skills, eating disorders, binge eating, anxiety, depression and much more. I am set to see her on Friday. Check back with me, I'll be happy to share my meeting with you. You can also check her website.

    Sleeve's A Secret

Did not tell all my coworkers. Only the ones close to me. I don't believe I have to share something so personal. One came up to me, and said I heard you might be getting surgery?! Why? just watch what you eat... At that moment I said to myself ( and to her ) yep!!! that's the reason I am not telling people about my private life and walked away.

    Questions For Post-Op Sleevers

My cath came out the day after surgery. I was walking more and in less pain so the Dr ordered to have it removed. The darn drainage bag was removed on day two as well ( OMG IT WAS PAINFUL )

    Day 8

You can share here!! That's one reason I love this site. The folks here will cheer you up and keep you strong when you feel down and under. I was warned that friends in my inner circle might start acting distant during this process. A few did even before surgery. But you know what, a few got even closer to me. And of my biggest helper right now was not even that high up on my list of "friends"!! But she emails/call me every day, she made lentil soup for me pre-surgery, and just had my sister pick up some chicken soup and bean soup. The person that is my best buddy in the group: called me once. So this process will also show who do really have in your life, and what role do they play in you life. I know I am going to make some major adjustment not only in my eating habits but in the people around me. Because if someone is not walking toward my goal with me, they will be left behind. This is a fight. No mercy.
  11. I CHEATED!!! I could not take it anymore: went to walmart bought a scale, hurried home and weigh myself lol!! I wanted to know soooo bad! down 12lbs since surgery!!!!

    Question

I colored my toes but did a french on my fingernails. They use a PS on your index finger to measure your O2 level. Colored nail polish makes it inaccurate and at times impossible.

Insurance Denial For Revision -Then, Approval!

Wow! amazing what they put people through! You would think that they will be willing to help people lose weight, when all the data is there showing how that improves patient's health. Which means, less money spend on medications, Doctor visits, and all other cost that is tied to being overweight... maybe that's the whole point. We are more valuable sick.

    Burger Salad

Sounds so good!!! But way to early for me right now. Maybe by xmas.
  19. Hang in there!! I had a real melt down over rice lol!! But we were told that we will face these moments. The psych nurse reminded on my post op visit, surgery was on my stomach not my brain. The surgeon did his part. Now it is my turn to " do surgery " on my brain. Learned to rethink my choices, learned to say no. So hang in there. It does get better with time. Sip as much as you can. Your recovery depends on it. We are gonna win this fight one, wise/healthy, day at a time!!!!!!!!
  20. It's been raining since 8 this morning! not heavy, but that perfect romantic mist;) so I put on my coat, took my umbrella and went for a nice stroll around my community. It felt SO GOOD!!!! Now I'm gonna eat my lunch: chicken leg, 1/2 carrots, small garlic, small salt and pepper slowly cooked.2cups of fresh spinach. put the whole thing in my food processor and strained it. now I have a yummy soup!!!

    Surgery Yesterday

I'm sure you are still receiving IV fluids. I was not able to drink more than a few sip of water before the nausea will hit me pretty hard. A few ice chips at a time the first day did it. Plus the pain meds kept me knocked out most of that day. So drinking was not much of an issue. Just could not do it. Day three was better as far as drinking sip of water and keeping it down. Be patient.

    Self Pay Usa

MY final cost for the surgeon, 3 days hospital stay, the anesthesia nurse, plus the BLISS insurance which covers me for 3 months in case of any complications including leaks, infection, ( God forbid ) re-operate : $13,651 My labs and such were done through my PCP so my insurance covered them. The $150 for the Psych evaluation and the $100 for the nut were paid by me.
  23. went and saw the surgeon today. Wounds site are looking great. first support group meeting in a month. Psych nurse suggested some great books for me to read. She wants me to call or email her any concerns or melt downs lol!! lost roughly 9lbs. So the whole reason I did this is back in focus!!!!

  24. Today was weird. Im feeling better. my sister cooked for the first time since Ive been home. I found myself crying in my bed because I was so ashmed of hiw badly I wanted to eat. I honestly thought I was stonger than this. I mean I toik such a drastuc decision, went through so much finding a surgeon, the money, the tests, the diets, and the pain. I felt strong. and the simple smell of rice, reminded me how weak I am still. My journey just started.

    Pre-Op Diet And Phentermine

I was told to stop taking them about a month prior to surgery. The pills go affect your blood pressure and heart rate. My PCP advised me to stop them when she did my physical for my pre op, way before my surgeon even got around to it. So you might want to look into that before you start taking them.
