  1. YAY!!! You are so close!!! Sounds like you hae some great support around you. Wish I had to go to Oahu for my appointment...LOL
  2. Very easy recovery...at least for me! The worst part was the one night I spent in the hospital but they gave me good drugs. Came home with liquid vicoden and only took 2-3 doses of that. I even got lucky enough to hardly have any gas pains (but then again I'm pretty sure my surgeon uses pixie dust or something)
  3. I had the band from 2008 to 2010 and lost a grand total of 50#. In 2010 it slipped and I had to have it removed. After regaining all my weight and feeling like crud I finally decided to get the sleeve. I was sleeved almost 5 weeks ago and already I can tell you the sleeve is NOTHING like the band. I can eat small quantities of almost anything, nothing gets stuck, haven't thrown up once. And best of all if I include my pre-op weight loss I have lost 43#! That's almost what I lost the entire 2 years I had the band! Do some research...there are lots of us on here who are sleeved after the band. And overall, I think the general consensus is the sleeve is everything the band was supposed to be! Good Luck!
  4. Yes Ma'am...I'm pretty sure mine is broken! It's been stuck on the same number for quite awhile now...LOL!! I only let myself weigh once a week or I will get obsessed with the number....a low number means a good day, a higher number? Watch out family, I'm on the warpath!

Thanks so much! I'm trying to keep my head in the right place....I do have my moments! You know, when you just want to throw the scale out the window??
  6. I am one month post op....Down 19# since surgery 43# total, and 10-3/4 inches lost from all over my body. I have a ways to go, but I can see some changes!

So today marks one month since surgery! My recovery from surgery itself has been remarkably easy and this month has been all about re-learning how to eat. So far I made it though my 2 weeks of liquids, and 2 weeks of soft foods. And I've got to add back in foods as tolerated. Well good news is so far I have been able to tolerate almost everything just fine. My portions are very small (obviously) but I haven't had a problem eating anything or having anything upset my stomach. Well except for too much sugar...that makes me trot to the bathroom super fast! But that's ok too...I'm not supposed to eat sugar anyway! The other thing this month has been about is all in my head. I put 3 oz of imitation crab on my plate and can finish 2…but my head says “it’s 2 bites you can finish it”. So far I have been able to NOT overfill my sleeve. I am a little afraid of vomiting. So far, I haven’t had a problem with this but after 2 years with the band and vomiting almost everyday it’s not something that I care to revisit. I am also in the middle of my first official stall. I only let myself weigh once a week or I can get a little obsessed with the number. But I have weighed the same since my 3 week weigh in….so that’s about 10 days. I know (in that logical part of my head) that I am re-adjusting after losing so much so fast. But, in that not so logical part of my head I really would like the scale to start moving. On the plus side, I am down a total of 43 since I started my pre-op diet, 19 since surgery, and a total of 10-3/4”…not too shabby!! Other people can see it more than me, my co-workers all tell me how “skinny” I look, and my husband says I’m melting. I know I’m wearing smaller jeans and I feel much better but even when I look at pictures I don’t see much yet. Heaviest Weight: 281 3/6/13 Surgery: 257 (-24) 3/13/13: 251 (-6) 3/20/13: 245 (-6) 3/28/13: 238 (-7) 4/3/13: 238 (-0) FIRST MONTH -19#
  8. Thanks so much for posting this. I needed to read it. I am also one month out today. And I really am trying to keep a good attitude about the stall I am in. I have lost 19 since surgery with a total loss of 43, so I know that my body need to adjust. Today I took my one month pictures and I can see a difference, it's not a huge difference but it is there. AND I took my meansurements and I am down 10-3/4 inches. So these are all good things. I am only letting myself weigh once a week but it was the same as it was at my 3 week mark. I guess I just needed to see someone else put it into words. Although I will admit that even though I'm not completely freaked out it would be really nice to see the scale start moving...LOL
  9. Congrats!!! It's my one month too!!! I'll be taking pictures later today!
  10. Good Luck BlueEyes!! Tomorrow marks one full month for me and so far I am so very very happy I made this decision!
  11. I can relate! My husband keeps telling me they are disappearing, I just tell him I need a better bra

So happy for you!!! I'm sure when I finally get back under 200 my whole neighborhood will hear me scream!!! Keep rockin' your sleeve!
  13. How long was your stall? I lost 19# in the first 3 weeks. Then last week nothing (which I sorta expected) but now I'm wondering how long I'll get to sit here before it starts moving again.
  14. Gmanbat, it is so cool that you are bragging about HER! That's true love right there!!! Looks like you both got your sassy snap back...bom chicka wow wow!!!
  15. I like Dannon Light & Fit Greek. It does have fruit on the bottom but it has the least sugars I have found (outside of getting plain and flavoring it) 80 cal, 9 carb and 12 protein
  16. Yummy! I printed that out and i think I'll be trying it this weekend! Looks like something even my hubby would like!
  17. ...and there is nothing wrong with smiley faces....
  18. LOL...I just did a blog this week about my NSV. I agree, we have to keep our eyes open for the little things we don't think about. Those things aren't as obvious as the scale but in the long run I think they are more important! And you reminded me of 2 others that I didn't put in my blog. I can lean down to tie my shoes without being out of breath. And my libido is also at a whole new level....my "poor" hubby got attacked the other day (middle of the day with the kids home We got done and he was like "ummm...ok....this works for me LOL
  19. I'm not laughing at you...I'm laughing with you. I have woke up the past couple days with a headache, yesterday I had myself all worked up cause "what if it's a blood clot in my brain?" The headache went away so I'm pretty sure it's all in my head!! Tomorrow is 4 weeks since surgery so I'm hoping I'm getting past the point where that could happened...if not, don't tell me!
  20. I totally get it. When I wear something more fitted I feel like I can see all the rolls, and back fat. UGH! I'm getting better though. My daughter and step-daughter are both really good about giving me real feedback on how things fit. They both know what my "triggers" are and they will let me know if they can really see the back fat or if I'm just being overly sensitive about it. Can't ask my husband cause the tighter the better for him...LOL!!
  21. Good Job!!!! You look fabulous, I love your smile!!!!! Has anyone told you, that you look like Fergie....LOL
  22. Definitely losing inches!!! Keep it up!
  23. Thank you!! I can see it when I look at these pic. My husband says I'm melting!! I keep reassuring him that I'm not going to disappear...LOL
  24. I am trying to find all the NSV I can find. I did a little blog about the ones I have seen so far. And I looked back over my blogs and I realized I blogged about the day we went to the Third Day Concert (almost a year ago) and the shirt I wanted to wear didn't fit. Fast forward to today and I am wearing that shirt..the one that didn't fit!!! Hopefully the picture will attach. The pic on the left was last year and it's a picture of the Concert picture...but you get the idea. The one on the right is today. Not a before and after, but definitely a before and during!! I still have a ways to go but I can definitely see the progress!!
