  1. So I ended up finding a different doctor and he did an un-fill. Let me say that I feel soooo much better! I was WAY too tight. I'm going to stick with this doctor bc the doctor I was previously with was a total jerk. They just kept ignoring me! This new doctor offered to monitor me and he is so much closer than my previous doctor. Thanks for the advise everyone. It's much appreciated!
  2. Hi everyone so I got a fill last Friday, and was fine up until Tuesday. I started to have a slimy in my throat and mouth. It's causing me to not keep anything food or liquids down. I'm constantly throwing up, and spitting up this nasty discharge. Is there any suggestions on how to stop this? I've been without food and liquids for three days and I'm desperate. I've called the doctor and he's not available. Any type of help would be greatly appreciated!!! ((
  3. I don't know if this is a stupid question or not, but as people with the lapband, are we supposed to be focusing on counting calories or counting carbs? I know that my protein intake is 60-80 grams, but which one should be the focus? carbs or calories? or both?? I've lost 26lbs in 2 and a half months, and I've gotten 1 fill. I know it is not time for me to get another fill because I don't feel like it is time yet. Anyone that can clarify please do. I had asked my doctor, and he was not very clear, because I need to get my food intake in order. I need to get down to 190 by september 16th, and i know it is doable, but need some advice! Please help!
  4. Hello I got my Lapband done in TJ and also went back for my fill in TJ there's no reason to be scared its very safe but just take someone with u just in case.
  5. Hey everyone, thanks for the responses! I called my doctor office and they advised me to give it a few more days so I did, and have to admit that because it was my first fill my body needed to adjust. I'm doing much better, and so far so good!
  6. Was banded on 03/22/12. I got my first fill on 05/17/12. I was told to been liquids for 24-48 hours than start foods as tolerated. My problem is I can drink almost anything, but today being the 48 hours later I cannot tolerate ANY food. No matter how soft or mushy it is. Does this mean I'm too tight? Or that I'm swollen? I need any advice please!! I'm crusted and a bit hungry!
  7. Hey thanks for the responses. I guess I need to be more patient. I haven't gone for my first fill yet, and have to agree this really is bandster hell. I also have a cold, and coughing causes my large incision area to feel very sore. So I need to go see what's going on there. I'll have to figure out a convenient way to keep track of my calories. Maybe there's an iPhone app I can find. I have to keep reminding myself that this will take time. Patience is virtue!
  8. I've been banded as of 24 days ago. I didn't lose much weight pre-op, but in total lost around 17lbs. I was told my first fill is in 6 weeks which will be may 3rd. I have not been very active but am watching what I'm eating and am feeling frustrated because my weight goes from 234-238lbs which goes back & forth. I'm getting annoyed with my scale and I don't know what the problem is. I have not gotten stuck, but also feel that I have no restriction when I eat. Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong?
