It might not be that bad. I was super concerned at first. But now that the weights coming off, I just follow all the hints offline to keping skin tight and admire my leaner body in the mirror. My belly sags a lil but its much better to look at that my fat that used to sag a lot!

I'm two years out now, but I cook and did it from just a few weeks post op. I'm a serious baker and I bake three or four days a week. I entertain large groups several times a month, too.
I love cooking just as much now as I did then. I just don't eat as much as I used to eat! I'd say that in the beginning, when I was on liquids and soft foods, it was a definite concern. I didn't want to be around food much because I couldn't eat it. My way around this was to simply prepare several meals before my surgery and freeze them, so my family could have the home cooked meals they're used to while I was healing.
I did a huge Thanksgiving spread for 22 people when I was about four months post op. I enjoyed cooking, I enjoyed having my family eat everything. Over the course of an entire day I got to try a bite of everything I wanted, and I didn't feel resentful or frustrated at all.
I'm back in the states visiting family and the first thing I did was make a menu with my family of all the good things I'd bake and cook while I'm here! It's just a part of who I am and it didn't get cut out with my stomach.

SkinnyOnMe got a reaction from Sherry77 in "never Eat" And My Clothes Today
Never, ever eat Wendy's spicy chicken nuggets post-op. That was a horrendous feeling I had today after attempting to eat them for lunch. Second, I went and donated 11 garbage bags (6big heavy duty) of clothes and shoes that are now huge on me. I am in a 10 from a tight 18. The only thing I kept thinking was that somebody better appreciate my beautiful clothes!!! RIP my fat clothes.

Thanks for ur opinions. When I put it in MFP it came up to 1200 cals.. but the tea was bolthouse farms so that was a lot.
I also think the fruit and veg idea is something I need to work on. I kinda cut it out of my life to focus on Protein 9and I'm a veggie lover.
I stopped taking my prevacid 3 days ago because I ran out. If that's why I'm hungry I need to get something asap.

I am excited that reached 198!!! However, not as excited as I thought I would be. I have no cause for celebration, no back flips, no celebratory sugar/fat free cheesecake. I just feel like a little fire has been lit under my ass. Like I feel like- hey I CAN DO THIS! I am so f-ing driven to get to my goal! To the people that are 1 month or less out from surgery- it gets better, much better. I was depressed too- but that number on the scale and my sexy ass outfit I wore to a party yesterday ( I am lucky to have a real coke bottle shape) solidifies my choice. GO VST!!

I am a realist. I eat carbs mainly because I have to live with the sleeve not go on a year-long diet. If that seems high to u then cut it down a bit but don't start a way of eating that u can't maintain for a year, 3, 5, or 30. I eat how I plan on eating for the rest of my life... and yes that includes carbs in moderation.

Sorry you went through that. I think if we all dig deep we can find those wounds from different stages in our lives, we probably could write a book. I have so many different examples that I could share from my personal life. Instead of simply reflecting on the negative, I look toward the positive, and use those moments as fuel to succeed in spite of the people's negativity. I wish you luck in your continued journey and a joy filled life!

ANYTHING I WANT. Much smaller amounts, and healthier ingredients when I can.... but I am a food lover and I will always be. I enjoy variation and quality not quantity. Open yourself up a bit.... you have to live with this sleeve for the rest of your life. If you get too tired of the mundane you may find yourself rebelling in a very bad way later. That's just my rational. Try the healthier versions of foods you loved before.

First of all i'd like to kindly ask everyone to calm down and lets discuss this issue seriously as many people can learn from it.
If Hamanyq8 is a registered member then he has the right to post whatever he feels he needs to talk about whether we agree with him or not. I'm not defending him, i am like all of you who are genuinely trying to help him and others who might be facing the same issue.
I think whats happening to Hamanyq8 has a lot to do with his psych. Being afraid to swallow is not uncommon among sleevers. Most of us know for a fact that VSG is a positive life changing procedure. However, some patients are faced or become aware with the down sides of the operation before actually experiencing the positive.
Hamany has a new stomach and he has to understand this and accept it mentally first in order for his body to accept it too. The way i see it is that his brain is still in pre-op state while his stomach is post-op and for him to actually start his VSG journey correctly he needs to sync both organs to post op. Once this is achieved it will all be smooth sailing from there.
I know a couple of friends who have undergone VSG and faced psychological difficulties have seeked professional help/ therapy and are now enjoying their new lives.
My advice however is to first stick to a diet plan approved by your NUT and if the problem persists try therapy.

SkinnyOnMe got a reaction from Spirit Fire in Dear Stallers And Not Losing Weighters
Dear people who are in a stall or not losing weight,
Stop weighing yourself everyday. Just my advice. If you are eating right and exercising you will lose the weight unless there is a medical problem... which is not usually the case. Your body is not a machine. It takes time. Maybe try weighing in once a week or better yet every 2 weeks. I got rid of my scale altogether and I only weigh myself when I go to visit my mother which is within the time frame I just gave you. I don't think I have had any stalls... but I wouldn't know because I focus on my well-being and NSV's, not pounds on a daily basis. Now if 1 or 2 months goes by and no weight loss and you are doing everything right- then worry. But besides that don't stress so much.
I am only posting this because I feel sorry for those of you who are so stressed out. I am about happiness and optimism and I thought I'd spread it a little. :-) Have a good and healthy day!
    Sincerely,
    Shadayo

Wow that's low. I just go by the guidelines of MFP that say 150carbs a day. No... I am usually no where near that but on my high days I just make sure I don't go over that. Hmmmm.... something to think about

I want to be mad and say that is terrible to do to a child- there had to be better options. BUT as a fat kid growing up... being 170+ in the 7th grade..... I wish my mom would have gotten me the sleeve. I would have been so much more confident. I am literally in tears because I am so happy that they made this choice! Kudos to her family and the girl. Amazing!

I was in your boat last week, posting about the same thing. But honestly.... you have no idea how your skin will react. You may be tight, you may be loose.... but you won;t be fat. Take care of your skin. Follow all the hints and pray for the best. Worry about it when you lose the weight. It's done

When I was told about this surgery my doctor told me that there are 2 kinds of patients that he recommends for the sleeve.
1.) People that need to lose 100lbs or less
2.) People that are excessively overweight like 325+ that are planning on getting Gastric bypass afterwards. Basically using the sleeve as a step 1.
My doctor doesn't volunteer a lot of info but this was the first thing I heard. Therefore maybe you should consider getting your step 2.
